This is the second time we've come to the Crafers Hotel and we absolutely fell in love with it all over again.
The service was absolutely phenomenonal and the food was beyond amazing! Recommendations from the staff on wine and dessert were very much appreciated and welcomed.
No complaints from us whatsoever and we will absolutely be back!

Stopped in for dinner and a drink. The service is top notch. We enjoyed a drink by the fire before moving into the dinning room. The wine list is excellent, as well as the food options. Our entree (croquettes) was delicious. My husband's schnitzel was very tasty, but unfortunately my lamb was a tad tough, but still edible. Overall I would definitely go again.

We had my father in laws 90th birthday lunch here. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with dietary requirements. Great service, food & wine selection made it a great event for the whole family including young children. I would definitely go back.

For a pub that is closing their kitchen at 8:30pm on a Friday night because it's apparently quiet, how good can this place be?? We walked in for a late dinner, walked past 6 staffs, and not one staff bothered to greet us. It is almost like they are afraid that we will order dinner and drinks and stayed. Are they being paid or treated poorly by the manager to behave this way? Internal review is urgent needed for this business for sure.

Stayed in the Heritage Room for one Saturday night and had dinner in the restaurant.

The room was cozy and very comfortable. Heritage room had access to the balcony. The balcony is shared between three rooms with dividers between each. You could walk around the dividers though if a friend is in the balcony room next door. Heritage room is in the centre and Mt Lofty and Tiers rooms are on the sides I believe.

If you're worried about noise staying above the restaurant it was very little issue. Not loud at all and completely quiet after 10 when they close. The noise can come from the fireplace. I think it must be an electronic exhaust or something but it got to be quite loud sometimes. The ducted air conditioning in the room made it so we didn't need the fireplace on all night anyway so it was fine.

It was certainly warm enough on a very cold night. Having the minibar stocked with various drinks and snacks be included at no extra cost was amazing! This goes for the breakfast in the shared nook too. The croissants were hot and fresh at 7.15am along with various cereals, coffee, juice, fruit, and yogurt. Newspaper was even dropped at our door for free in the morning!

The restaurant was nice. No problems, the food was good but nothing outstanding...at least from what we had. I was told the menu changes frequently so perhaps another visit is needed. The highlight in the restaurant was the warm cocktail they made off the August monthly specials list. The staff were all incredible too. Friendly and very knowledgeable when it came to questions about the menu.

I could see myself returning for another stay here, perhaps in the summer. Thanks Crafers Hotel.

We stayed in the Norfolk room with no expectations - the room was surprisingly nice! Bathroom had underfloor heating, dual shower head, and complimentary drinks in the fridge. There was a communal breakfast nook with a simple complimentary breakfast, access to a washing machine, and a sneaky hotel entrance that by-passed the bars. Staff were polite and pleasant when they showed us our room (Kit), and accommodating when I asked them to store a bottle of breast milk in their fridge for a few hours after we checked out. There was no sound in our room from the nearby highway or the bar downstairs. Parking was tricky (Friday evening).

Sunday lunch. Very underwhelming. Enjoyed my schnitzel wasn't overcooked like some restaurants. My fellow dinners all complained about their meals. The fish was more batter than fish. The oversized "well done" burger was still raw in the middle. The calamari was overcooked. All of us couldn't eat the more than once cooked chips. All in all very overpriced for the meals we received. Took a while for the meals to come out only to be told our reservation time was almost up.

Having Visited the Crafers Hotel on other occasions our latest visit did not disappoint having recently reviewed their menu all that we ate was of the highest standard and the perfect quantities. The Staff are all very knowledgeable, and offer a premium level of Customer service, the decor and the ambiance present is second to none. We do eat at many of Adelaide's fine dining restaurants and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Crafers Hotel to anyone that would like to enjoy the ultimate dining experience. A little tip, if you have a Seniors card, their are some concessions available on standard weekdays. Do yourself a favor, make a reservation.

Lunch in the front bar, sadly underwhelmed by average food.
Have visited many times, great pub.
Had a relaxed lunch for 2.
Was quite disappointed with the very simple meals we chose, fish and chips were greasy, too much batter peeling away from fish, much the same for chips, very greasy and over seasoned, my partner had the burger, very tasty but please don't make burgers the height of a skyscraper, it's pretentious - how are customers meant to eat it!? It only looks good for all those influencers taking photos of food.
Finally to finish both had an espresso coffee which tasted like an ashtray, it's not that difficult to make a good coffee these days!

Great food, warm and cozy atmosphere. We arrived at 2.15pm and super pleased they were still cooking til 2.30! Was great with 2 kids, they loved the icecream to top off their meals :)

Had such a wonderful stay over the weekend! Clean, modern, revamped rooms. It was super private and quiet regardless if the business downstairs! More than what we expected when it came to amenities and complimentary snacks. Great hospitality and service. The pub is cosy and classy, with a great vibe. We were so impressed! We didn't get the chance to eat a meal but we had dessert and that was delicious! Look forward to returning to stay again and have dinner.

Having lost count of the number of meals I've had at the Crafers over the past few years I can confidently say I have never had a disappointing meal there. Great dining experience. The food is always incredible and I definitely recommend always trying the chefs special. The wine list is exhaustive and cellar is impressive. Not to mention a great rotation beer list on tap.
The rooms are clean with everything you need - maybe a little off price point but still an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful pub/hotel, interior is really nice which adds to the experience. It was busy for mid-week. All the meals we ordered was really nice. However, the chips that came with the meals were too salty. Ordered Crème brûlée but it was not set to our liking, it had a very custard like consistency. Overall though we will still continue to eat there because the service was excellent and we've had other food in previous visits and they were good, no salt issue. The wine list is amazing too.

We stayed for 3 nights. The Heritage room was perfect. Luckily the sun was shining so we could sit on the balcony. The bathroom is bigger than some hotel rooms - and the floor is heated.
The breakfast bar was great for us, croissants, toast, breakfast cereals, tea and coffee included. Also included were mini bar items, beer, soft drink, tim tams and chips all replenished each day.
The staff were all welcoming, friendly and efficient.
Dinner each night was beautiful, plenty of choices to suit everyone. An excellent choice of wines by the glass and the wine room is an experience on it's own.

Came for lunch without a booking and the staff were most welcoming and friendly. The dinning area had a warm and lovely ambience. Food was excellent and I wished I had enough room for dessert. Will have to return!

We came in for an unplanned lunch and were welcomed in by the friendly staff who seated us in the beautiful back room, despite the place being very busy.
The meal was delicious, and the wine pairing was perfect.
The venue is stunning, the staff friendly and accommodating and the food and wines are of a very high standard.
We will be back for sure, but will bring our friends too next time! Thankyou for a memorable experience.

A delight with some exceptions.

The quality of the food here is quite high, you're paying a pretty penny for some good quality food. For some reason, the chips and the roast potatoes are cooked with some sort of magic here (high quality duck fat I'm guessing) because they're exceptional. The serving sizes of each main is exceptional and you're sure to be full. The quality of each dish was remarkably high too, obviously comes with a price but I for the most part enjoyed the dining experience here.

The only drawbacks I'd say is that the cooking of the proteins are inconsistent. My group had 3 steaks and all were ordered at medium rare, one was cooked perfectly, and the other two were overdone. Moreover, the food took rather long to arrive. Our waiter was slightly lost and forgot a few things but I'll chalk that up to a busy night and inexperience.

Props for the extensive wine list that was a joy to look through at reasonable prices.

Definitely worth a try for a more upscale pub experience

Already one of my favorite pubs because it always has a good range of beers on tap, always good service, there aren't many pubs with a better wine cellar either and it's a beautiful destination pub if you enjoy a drive through the hills.
Had my first meal there for a long time and the chefs cut special was exactly that, special.
Highly recommended!

Beautiful charming venue with an impressive wine room and stunning restaurant with open kitchen.
Food was delicious, I had the duck and my partner the kangaroo. Service was friendly and personable, but slow. We had to wait 20 minutes to have our order taken, 40 minutes for food, and 30 minutes for 2 beers (after asking 3 times).

The interior decor and ambience is very rustic and European in an old stone hotel.

We had a table reservation but when we arrived, there was nobody to show us to a table, waiting staff rushing everywhere with trays of food just walked past us. After waiting a long time, we finally joined the long queue at the Order Your Meals Here counter. Only after finally reaching the head of the queue did we get a table.

The waiter serving us was very nice. We heard great reviews about the food and had high expectations.

The duck was pleasantly cooked with a small touch of pink inside. I didn't like the large serving of tart beetroots and too much dill but otherwise well balanced.

The chicken schnitzel was nicely chunky and moist. The accompanying chips was very mediocre and ordinary.

The garlic bread was very good. Buttery and garlicky and tender crumbed.

The fish in the fish and chips, I didn't get to try but it looked fabulous. Looks like a popular dish.

Amazing food, great service. I went in there expecting standard pub fare, but the food was so much better than expected.

The presentation of the food was on point, and the quality was closer to fine dining (try the duck!). With an extensive wine and beer selection to boot, and excellent mocktails.

Added to that, the staff were amazing. We had the most friendly and welcoming waiter. Can't wait to come back!

This is a lovely small hotel. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. They seemed very happy to have us & provided a personalized tour of the facility. We were in the middle of a long trip & were pleased to find a complementary washer/dryer available for guest use in a small common area. Since there are only a few rooms, finding a time when it was available wasn't a problem. The common area also has coffee and small breakfast items in the morning. Food in the restaurant was also good.

Absolutely amazing hotel and restaurant!
Staff are friendly and professional.
Room was very cute and comfortable.

I had cocktail, wine and chef's special steak for dinner, they were amazing!
We'll be back here again when we visit to Adelaide next time!

This is best hotel I've ever stayed in.
The rooms are massive and so comfortable, old style but very clean with modern touches.
Price is fantastic per night for what you get, minibar is complimentary, awesome soaps and shampoos.
Bed is very good with infinite pillows yes thank you.
The restaurant is fantastic, staff are absolutely accommodating and friendly.
The entire place has beautiful architecture and the only thing I didn't like was how short my stay was!

A wonderful local restaurant/pub with a lovely atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff with a nice variety of pub favourites and French inspired dishes on their menu.

They are more on the expensive side and the serves aren't particularly generous for what you are paying. So it's a nice treat rather than a regular hang out.

Keep an eye out for their monthly specials events too.

Spent an entire evening here sipping wine by the fire and working, followed by a delicious dinner. Staff is great, venue and decor is beautiful. Prices are reasonable. The Sirloin Steak I ordered was cooked perfectly to my liking, well seasoned and served with crunchy coleslaw, shoestring fries and delicious mushroom sauce. I would definitely be back for another evening. The hotel is in a beautiful location and has a perfect, modern and historical vibe. Definitely one of the most stunning pub hotels I have been to. Highly recommend it.

They served one of the best steaks I've ever had. So hard to get a medium well steak that isn't tough at all! Loved their starters too. A pity we were driving and couldn't give their wine collection a try.

Variety of choice on the menu. Interesting salads with main courses. Lovely staff as always. Good sense of humour. Nothing too much trouble. Terrific atmosphere with open fires for winter. Certainly a good place to try.

Up market pub with what looks like a reasonable kitchen and straightforward staff. I've seen labourers hanging out front and all manner of locals, which contrasts heavily with the French menu. It was not translatable by Australian high school standards, which is a bit special. Unless at least 20% of people within a 4km radius are from Lyon, or some other French locality, it's a bit misplaced. But over all, despite needing some translation for the menu (which staff could not do fully, which tells you a little about the applicability) it scores highly because it does "pub" very well. The food was good (although I just had chips but they were actually very good), the layout is superb, the decor is effortlessly classy with inviting comfort that puts you at ease. The cleanliness is perfect which is an indication of the fastidiousness of management and the calibre of locals. This place is on a level that allows respectable visitors to believe that they will not be offended between their entry into this establishment and their departure. Good job.

Great Atmosphere, wine, beers & food. Great attention from the staff for us and our kids and the place was packed for a monday night. Loved sitting in the booth, will be back to drink or dine by the fire. A great find.
