Just celebrated my partner's birthday at the splendid Bleakhouse pub. The views over the sea were incredibly beautiful and we could watch the ships coming into the port. We had rented the Garden room and it was beautifully set up by James. We received a warm and gracious welcome by Ferenc and our waitress, Lola, was attentive and helpful throughout the afternoon. We dined well and all our guests were all keen to rent the room for their own events. It's great value and the team there are fantastic. Thank you!!

The Bleakhouse Hotel was our chosen place to host our daughter's 21st birthday celebration, it was perfect. Situated in an ideal location, the venue provided exactly what we were looking for. The whole team surpassed our expectations with any query or concern promptly addressed, even when we forgot the candles for the cake. The canapés were delicious, the staff provided exceptional service, the ambiance was perfect. It had become one of my favourite local spots that I go every 2 weeks!! 🥂🍹🍺 Food is always consistently great and the vibe inside is just great!! I prefer to sit on the other side to enjoy my food and drinks away from the TVs but if you follow sports this is perfect for you! Love the variety of drinks and food, staff members are always so helpful and kind!! Order the hand-cut chips, I have to get it every time just blew my mind!

Large beachfront pub located across the road from South Melbourne beach. Offering a cosy atmosphere on a cold autumn evening, meals are reasonably priced - I had the porterhouse steak and it was cooked to perfection. Medium number of beers and cider on tap. Offers a traditional public bar where kids are welcome as well as a more formal sit down dining room. A short trip from the city on the number 1 tram.

Delicious. The onion rings were amazing. They were able to cater for dietary requirements fairly well.

My first time here and I will admit I came for the steak night. I had heard good things. I can say it didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the meal and the place was welcoming and relaxing. I had a nice view of the coast and the palm trees so I was very happy.

The steak was absolutely delicious.

Bleakhouse Hotel was a lucky find - right in front of the last stop on tram route no. 1. The hotel has two sections, you can grab any table at the front of the place and order at the bar. For the inside restaurant you need to book a table in advance.

We ordered the Chicken Schnitzel which was amazing by itself but it came with the best Mediterranean salad - Napa cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and feta. Also ordered the Spanish prawns with sourdough which had a good burnt butter flavour. Although I did think there was too much butter on the plate. Also the hand cut chips are a better choice than the fries for sure!

Will go back for Sunday Roast or Parma next time!

Menu for was good, something for everyone and the food was very nice.
It is always an added bonus when the staff are so helpful and friendly.

I have never seen a business take so much accountability and responsibility after a minor error. Our meals were delayed but the staff went over and beyond to make up for it with a round of complimentary drinks and some hot chips while we were waiting. The were very apologetic, meals were fab in the end and worth the wait! Super impressed will be recommending to friends and family. Thanks team xx

Fantastic experience, could not fault it.

We came here on the off chance and it turned out to be Thursday night steak night. Both opted for the steak and have to say it was absolutely delicious. Every aspect of the dining experience was spot on, good food, good wine, good atmosphere and the blue haired waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. Thanks for a perfect dining experience.

We love it here! The staff are lovely, the space/view is great and the food is delicious! Must try the prawns and oysters (Fridays special particularly) 🤤 and get some bread to eat with the chilli oil from the prawns ??'? look forward to next time.

Food was delicious, well presented and of high quality. Serving sizes were sufficient, but the big eaters will need to order an entree and / or sides. The venue is very nice and in a great location. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Nice pub on the corner of the Albert Park shops. We order an Aperol Spritz, Pimms with onion rings and hand cut fries. The onion rings were delicious - hoped for a few more!

We had my daughter's 21st at the Bleakhouse on Saturday night. The room we ended up getting was the courtyard room. It was fantastic, plenty of room, we had facilities to play music and show photos. The bar staff and waitresses were friendly, polite and efficient. The manager, Ewen, was so accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a great night. I would always recommend having an event here.

Nice stuff. Came here with a few friends on a Sunday for the Sunday roast, and the Sunday roast did not disappoint!

We also had their pie which was equally (if not more) delicious. Topped it all off with their special pina colada cocktail, and it made for the perfect Sunday lunch.

We can't speak highly enough of the service provided for our sons engagement event last night. Very helpful all the way through .

DJ playing late Sunday night out back hidden away.. and what a fabulous little party it was. John corse playing with love sax and bongos. Everyone in the room dancing. What a vibe.

We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday here and had the most wonderful afternoon that ran late into the evening! Lunch was amazing and the servings were so generous. All our guests commented on how delicious the food was. All the staff were lovely and attentive and Kate the events manager was super helpful planning the celebration and went above and beyond to make sure the day was special for hubby. Can definitely recommend this venue for a function !

Celebrated mums birthday here. there was a group of 10.

Positives -
* James our server was really lovely! Absolute star (you get 5 stars)
* Atmosphere was nice
* Most of us enjoyed our meal - particularly those who had fish or schnitzel

Negatives -
* We waited a while for the food and when the orders came out 50% of the steaks weren't cooked to peoples liking (e.g. medium, rare etc.)
* There was a gentlemen who greeted us at the very beginning of the night (appeared to be the Manager or Owner) and made an appearance again throughout the evening to discuss dietary requirements (Gluten Free). Several people at the table noticed that he was agitated by our requests, we were made to feel as if we were a nuisance for being there.

I understand that things are difficult post pandemic and want to give people the benefit of the doubt. :)

Superb, melt-in-your-mouth roast lamb with a scintillatingly delicious sauce and crispy potatoes. Sleek and comfortable venue, very friendly service - and all opposite the beach. Perfect for a gorgeous winter's day.

Got a great table with sea views. Food was good and want to come back to try more :-)

You can spend a long Sunday here in a booth watching footy. Good food and pleasant attentive staff. Pie of the day was great and better than expected.

Solid drinks menu in comfortable space with live sport on 3 tv's in the sports section. The dining room is comfortable enough but if you have a large amount of people look at getting the private dining room.Physical location is great; the last stop on the 1 tram is right outside the entrance. Across the road is the beach. My only critique is free parking os limited to 1 hour, otherwise a hefty $13 paid parking is needed.Food is great, think basic pub grub done very well plus some chef specials. Expect $40 to $60 per person for a main, desert and a few drinks.

Got into Bleakhouse hotel for a couple of pints on one of the last of 2021s summer days. Reasonable price for drinks, great location and fairly empty around late lunch time. The staff were very attentive and the family at one of the tables were getting looked after very well. Worth dropping in for a drink or two or three and the food menu looks good as well.

They have done a great job renovating and upgrading this pub. I have visited a few times and found the meals enjoyable, beer is always icy cold hard to stop at two and the staff are so friendly. Albert Park/ South Melbourne beach is opposite with the team stop right there. Most importantly place is clean. Great place to watch sports. What more could you ask for.
