As expected for a country pub.

A larger venue than I expected and has an excellent view across the Murray River.

The schnitzel was excellent and so was the coffee.

Walked in at 6pm on a Tuesday night. No wait staff in sight so we sat down to look over the menu. She appeared 5mins later only to chastise us for sitting down without a booking. There was no "Please wait to be seated" sign and the blackboard read order at saloon Bar so we assumed it wasn't table service. There was only 2 other people in the restaurant so I'm not sure why we needed a booking. Feeling belittled and a little dumbstruck we continued to look over the menu. The lady at the next table called the wait staff and told her the bread roll was mouldy. She was quickly told "well it can't be, it's from the bakery today!" she said I can't help that look at it. We very quickly exited and went and got pizza. Not the country hospitality I was expecting on our first visit to Tailem Bend.

Stopped in on the way home after having a pretty rough weekend and were greeted with extremely polite and friendly staff and great food. It was quiet yet they still happily served us just before they shut the kitchen at close to 8pm.

This is why we need local pubs. Thanks again!
