Looks promising from the outside. Nice building and tastefully designed inside.
Food was average. I don't recommend the chicken burger, it was like eating a rubber tyre. The schnitzel I had that replaced it was just a generic frozen fried schnitzel served with some too blonde chips and a side salad with no dressing.I could taste. Pretty average unfortunately. The kitchen could be so much better than it is with a chef who likes fresh made food.
Judy behind the bar was lovely and friendly and made our experience warm.
Unfortunately the smoking area had no formal undercover area for rainy days like today. 5 of us today left pretty quickly after food as there was nowhere to sit, enjoy a drink, chat and chill outside as all smokers.

Always a good time! Venue has a great atmosphere with great food. The service is always top-notch and all staff (including management) are friendly and accomodating making every visit enjoyable.
The annual footy tipping comp is always a bit of fun, offering weekly prizes and the opportunity for some friendly banter with management. Highly recommend!!

Been here at least 3 or 4 times over the last 2 years and it is really quite sub par even for a pub. I have to question these great reviews, it makes no sense to me, perhaps they have not left somerville to eat? The decor is nice but thats about it. Food is average at best.

Service was great, very friendly FOH.
Trivia night was going, the man running it was engaging and great for the gig.

Food was a bit of a let down, mainly my meal.
Meals took an hour and a half to arrive (four people on our table).
My steak (ordered med-well) was the worst steak I've ever received.
It was so thin and dry, cooked so far past well done. Don't even know how that's possible, other than pure neglect!
How you could serve that to someone is beyond me?
I'd waited so long in the first place, I didn't want to get any sort of a replacement meal.. I'd not have that chef send me another unseasoned dry sad little offering.
So just sucked it up and ate my sides mainly.
Only writing this as I feel management really needs to know of this chefs lack of consistency, absolutely appalling.
Who ever was on grill the night of 17/04, really needs to be put onto the cold larder section for some quiet self reflection.

Seafood platter on special was very generous.
Burgers looked good.. aside from the bacon that was barely cooked, that got the side eye too.

Still would recommend this pub as it had so many positive things to offer!

Thank you Somerville hotel, we were one of the lucky streets with the "Streets eat discount" my neighbour and myself walked down and had a polite welcoming from a young man, showed us to our table and said show your ID when ordering, the food was great! Tasty and a decent serving. We both left full and happy! Good job Somerville pub! 😊

Great place for a meal, relaxed atmosphere and freindly staff

We are not happy with the meal. The Chicken Parma was rubbery. And the calamari was not very good as it tasted like potato.The atmosphere was great but the staff were stressed and couldn't handle the pressure. Most of the staff were very helpful but they were running around like a headless chicken.

Waited 2 hours for meals and when they did come out dishes came upto 10 minutes apart so our party of 5 didn't eat together. A refund was offered which was appreciated but it did not appease the disappointment of what should have been a memorable birthday dinner.

My family and I have been to the Somerville Hotel on many occasions. We eat in the Bistro, and the grandkids also enjoy playing in the playroom. There are many positives to talk about.
You can order and pay via scanning a code at your table that brings up the menu/drinks on your mobile, or you can order at the counter.
Fast service from professional and friendly staff.
A calm atmosphere and comfortable chairs.
Disability access.
The wide variety of well cooked food choices, including specials, are of great quality.
The food is served in generous portions that are appealing to the eye.
Requests for minor changes to meals are readily accommodated.

The playroom is secure for the kids.
Overall, it's a really inviting place to go for a memorable meal.

I was so grateful to the staff, I am a coeliac and I was very happy with the service and care they took to make sure my meal was gluten free. It was enjoyable and the meal was fantastic. Thank you, great team

Wife booked in family for a Friday evening, upon getting there she was told there was no booking in her name. Took about 15min to sort out a table which was fine.
The menus got threw at us and told to order through the app.
We ordered food and drinks through the app.
The place was busy but looked like they only had a few waiting staff on.
The drinks took 40mm to get to us after we asked a few times.
When they arrived they were a glass short, after asking the waiting staff a few times we eventually went to the bear to get it ourselves.
Food took over an hr to come out and was pretty poor.
Tables and floors were filthy, I watched a waiter drop a small bowl of mayo on the floor when going to a table, instead of going and cleaning it up he just left it and people tramped it through the carpets.
Was here once before about 2yrs ago and we said we would give it another go.
Safe to say I will never be back.

The bar staff in the sports bar have no idea what they are doing. The meals ordered together all came out at different times. Two out of four meals were wrong. The last meal was 10 minutes after the first and completely different to the ordered meal. The staff didn't want to refund the money instead offered a free drink. Only after persistence the meal was refunded by the manager who was rude and abrupt. Definitely won't be returning. One of the many pubs in the close 10-15 minute proximity would be a way better option to avoid going hungry as I did. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Wow guys CONGRATULATIONS on getting Somerville Hotel back to what it used to be.
Tonight's service was amazing and the service was wonderful.
Our tables meals all arrived promptly and at the same time..... No one awkwardly waiting for their meal to arrive. Kids meals were great portions as were the main meals.
We can't wait to come back and make Somie Hotel our regular again ☺️

Popped in for lunch, staff were friendly and service was prompt. Had the salt &pepper calamari which was cooked to perfection, chips were hot and seasoned well, salad was basic but dressing was tasty. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Great place to just have lunch, Dinner or just enjoy some down time. Staff are awesome, helpful, and pleasant. The dining room makes you feel like you are at a summers beach with the new plants. Get a coffee and cake when you drop in.

I almost didn't come here today after reading a negative review 47 minutes before my arrival. We decided to go anyway and I'm glad we didn't take the word off the previous reviewer!
Look, it's not fine dining, but neither are the prices. Good honest pub food at family friendly prices.
I had the lamb mixed grill and the sausage and cutlets were tasty and juicy. My husband's porterhouse was cooked perfectly and was very tasty!
Sticky date pudding was microwaved and not homemade but the price was cheap and it was a nice end to the meal!
Rate it for yourself and give it a go, we left with a full stomach and felt we got good value for money!

Three of the four meals I tried to order weren't available and kitchen were unwilling to substitute the items they were out of. A woman at the bar was rude and wouldn't serve in the restaurant side as it 'wasn't her section'. Our meals arrived 55 minutes after ordering and we only received them after following up with the lady on the pass - they'd been missed. Curry was cold and a very small portion, pumpkin salad was fine but not worth the price and the pie was a good size serve but the base was raw. Overall pretty dissatisfied with the experience and won't be returning.

Dropped by for lunch over Easter as we had been here once before. We had an initial issue with the QR ordering system but once we had that sorted lunch did not take too long.
We ordered the Fisherman's Catch and the special of Salmon Fillet with Garlic Prawns and Calamari (with extra prawn toppers for both) but unfortunately the Salmon was missing the prawn toppers. After a bit of back and forth the prawns were delivered separately. The food itself was not bad (not sure the salmon in particular, was worth the $38 price point as it was a bit dry) but we let it slide due to the high standard of service.
Thanks to Justin (solving the QR code issue) and Ella (sorting out the missing prawns), both were so friendly and helpful and are definite assets to the Somerville Hotel team!

First time here for many years as I was living in Tasmania . Quite a transformation . My steak was perfect . Medium rare !

Had a family lunch there and I found it to be an excellent experience from the online booking process to the food. I was most impressed by the many options available on the menu that provided all your favorites plus many options to try new dishes that you might not generally order. A comfortable atmosphere without loud TV's making it hard to hear each other. A very pleasant experience all round.

Pretty good vibe on a Friday evening and the staff are friendly and the beer is cold. Most of the food we had was good but unfortunately my lamb shanks were off, so I left them on the plate almost untouched. Would give it another go but won't be ordering the shanks again!

I recently held a function at the Somerville Hotel and could not have been more pleased with the service, support, attentiveness and follow up from the venue manager, Gavin and his staff.
Prior to the event I was able discuss how it would run and Gavin was able to accommodate minor adjustments to suit us. The value for money was outstanding compared to other venues in the vicinity and the food provided was excellent.
Make sure you try the Calamari.

Went out for a meal tonight, ordered the Pork Belly. The meal was presented beautifully and the vegetables were nice, however the Pork Belly itself was not heated right through. Clearly cooked prior and reheated as the outside was hot but inside wasn't. I was also a bit disappointed that there was no crackling. I took the meal up and the staff quickly fixed the meal for me and remade it. Understanding it takes time to remake a meal by the time it was ready almost everyone at our table had finished eating, but I do appreciate that it was remade. Just wish it was done properly the first time.

Had dinner with some friends in the bistro. All the meals came out in a timely manner. My eye fillet steak was cooked to my liking and I enjoyed the simple side salad.

I had the steak sandwich and it was fantastic.
We had a table booked but there was no reception area that we saw so we lined up at the bar to be told we're our table was.
It was a little on the noisy side too but the food made up for that

Had a great day at Ratts Tatts and Pun ups Sunday 15th, bands were awesome car show and stalls were amazing, big turnout! Thanks to Gavin and Kingpin Events for having us perform

Went for a family lunch. The online booking process was not reliable, resulting in two phone calls.
Meals were mostly good - well priced and tasty ( except for apple crumble which at $10 was more like a small unappetising slice )
Service was ok and facilities fresh and child friendly.

Came on Rockabilly Day. It was such a good vibe.
Great atmosphere and great service. Food came out quickly considering how packed it was.
Great local pub! Wish I lived closer.

Haven't been here for years and went for lunch today, very tasty meal for $9.95! Plenty of space for parking, facilities were bright, clean and in good working order. The staff were especially welcoming, friendly and engaged with us. Dining area spacious, tidy and clean. Food was delivered in a very timely manner, coffee good. I was very pleasantly surprised, and will certainly be returning. Thank you, we had a lovely relaxing lunch for a couple of hours.

Reasonable prices. $9.95 for seniors, great price. Service from kitchen was fast. Meals were very tasty. Would recommend a visit.
