We've visited Sailmaster Tavern at North Haven a few times now, and each visit has been consistently great.

From the moment you arrive, the venue feels clean, bright, and welcoming. Booking a table has always been easy, and even on a busy Friday night when the outdoor areas were full we were seated comfortably at a lovely table for four.

The food has been excellent every time. Everything tastes fresh and cooked to perfection, which really stands out. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasantly quiet, making it easy to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.

Service is a real highlight. The manager is warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, and the staff are attentive, kind, and professional. It's the kind of place where you leave saying, "that was a really great experience."

To top it off, we were lucky enough to catch a spectacular sunset during our last visit! The view is absolutely gorgeous and adds something special to the whole experience.

Highly recommend for a relaxed meal with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful outlook.

Been going to this pub for a few years it's a great view on the deck. The food is always good but mistakes have happened in the past with the food, But overall great food. I last had the seafood Canberra should have a warning as it was spicy. My partner had the schnitzel always good so that's about it.

Sailmaster Tavern has a fantastic waterfront setting and solid food, but the service let the experience down slightly.

Overall I'd say this was about a 3.5 star experience, but rounding up to a 4 because there were still plenty of positives.

The food was pretty good overall. A few people in our group ordered the fish and said it was fresh and very tasty. I went with the Hawaiian schnitzel which was thick, well cooked, and full of flavour. My chips were also good, though the rest of the group weren't as lucky and said theirs were cold. Looks like I might have got the fresher batch.

The atmosphere was excellent. We were seated outside on the deck right by the water and it was a beautiful day, which made the whole experience even better. The venue itself is really nice and well set up, and the huge TV inside is great for anyone wanting to catch sport. When we walked through inside later there was a strong meaty or fishy smell from the kitchen area, not necessarily a bad thing, just something noticeable.

Where things fell down a bit was the service. It was busy on a Sunday lunch which is understandable, but the interaction from staff lacked warmth. A few people from our group asked about the special and were told it wasn't available with no apology and a bit of a blunt tone. Nothing terrible, but it did take the shine off the experience.

Overall the food and location were strong, but the service stopped it from being a standout visit.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere - such a beautiful place to enjoy dinner on a summer night. The customer service was great, friendly and attentive. The stone-grilled steak was absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection.

The spaghetti marinara and garlic prawns could be sharpened up a little, as they lacked flavour, but overall the experience was still very enjoyable.

The layout and ambience of the venue make you feel like you're in Thailand or Bali - absolutely beautiful. Would definitely come back again.
