Hi, we stayed here for a few day and although the rooms aren't 5 star, they are just what you need.

The restaurant next to the units has lovely food. We tried to eat there as much as we could. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. I recommend this place as it is close to hiking, fish, waterfalls (check out Snobs Falls)!

Mattresses were very bouncy 😋😏😉

Good wholesome meals. Reasonably priced. Efficient. Never wait too long for meals. Friendly bar staff. Great vibe in the bar.

We read the reviews so decided to dine here on the long weekend. I rang ahead to explain my incredibly challenging dietary needs. I was told nothing would be a problem and to consult with management upon arrival. Unbeknown to me, my situation was discussed with all staff who were made aware prior to my arrival. I usually have difficulty in ordering food due to anaphylaxis, so my trust in people managing my meal varies. However, I was pleasantly delighted with the seamless ordering, attentive customer service and friendly staff
Additionally, this is an incredibly busy night on a long weekend with a full dining room. Yet all staff seemed to take every step in their stride with ease. Our meals arrived in a timely manner and were of decent bistro quality.

Cannot fault Rubicon Hotel!
We were there for dinner on Friday night long weekend. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and efficient. Special mention to the friendly gentleman who took our order.

The food was incredible and quickly delivered- 3 serves of ribs and wings. When do ribs ever come out in a timely manner? And absolutely mouthwatering.

We had the sticky date and churros for desert- delicious. All our plates cleared in a timely manner, with staff interested in how our experience was.

We keep coming back to the Rubicon because they are consistent. They obviously have the right balance of staff- who genuinely enjoy their jobs, and clearly managers are doing the right thing.

After leaving another local establishment that were downright rude to us locals and ridiculously uncoordinated, we decided to head to Rubicon Hotel to try and get a feed for 4 people. They were packed when we arrived so we weren't too hopeful but to our surprise, this place was running like a well oiled machine! Waitresses were kind and helpful even though they were under the pump, Felix who was taking orders was next level professional and friendly, our meals came out so fast and were all top notch! Even the owner Darren was present and on the ground with the staff coordinating everything - a true representation of a versatile establishment that is worth its weight in gold to us locals. Thank you for another amazing night, 5 stars all round!

Lovely staff at the Rubi Hotel, with good country pub vibes. Ordered the Chicken Schnitty and Veggie Parma, both quite tasty and a decent size.

We stopped in for an early Monday dinner and we're spoiled with an exceptional vegie schniddie, and a Special Irish Stew - both absolutely delicious (apparently the meat was to die for), and the service lovely as always! Thanks team!!

Lovely meal,steak a little expensive $45 but cooked perfectly and vegies,chips and pepper sauce were really delicious
Wife had tge seniors parma which was perfect size and also delicious

We had a great stay. I had to print something and the staff were kind enough to help me out during my stay. Room service was amazing. We left all our belongings and everything was safe. ??'-??'-

Busy weekend in Alexandra for the truck show but these guys smashed it. Didn't price gouge. Great honest meals. Friendly welcoming environment. Clean well appointed rooms. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. The parma's were the best we've had in ages. The kids meals were really nice too! Couldn't fault the food or service. Great country pub!

Amazing pub! Had dinner here last Monday and customer service was 10/10. Food was tastey and great for price. All the staff where very friendly and welcoming.

We were staying in Eildon for the weekend and had bookend in for dinner. They pub has a courtesy bus and took us to and from for free - great start!

All of the meals were solid pub food, portions were decent and everything was tasty. The fish was great and the T-Bone was massive. Our friends had a Parma and Snitzel, both were really hoppy. Drink prices were good and the staff friendly.

All in all I'd recommend that if your staying in the area this place is definitely worth a look??'?

Another new year, another week in the bush and another half dozen visits to the pub. 2 lunches, a few visits to the bottle shop and a couple of cheeky drinks on the way past. The pub never seems to disappoint. The service is friendly, the beer cold, the food big and tasty, and the atmosphere relaxing. We will continue to visit when in the area.

Have not stayed here, but have eaten in the bistro many times. Great value and the quality of the meals is amazing. Ribs are my pick. Absolutely superb!

We rocked up and told we're our table is, we then sat and waited 15 minutes for menus to be brought out. Eventually we had to go and ask for menus. After ordering our food the entrees came quickly but then the mains took a while. I ordered a steak to be cooked rare and two sauces, when it came they only brought one and I had to ask for my second one and when I cut my steak open it was not rare it was past well done and honestly quite unpleasant to eat, the outside was burnt and the inside was chewy. Will not be returning and would definitely not recommend

Stayed in a family room. Comfortable, clean good sized rooms, 3 seperate rooms sleeping up 6, good kitchenette, lounge space with tv including useful selection of cable channels. Decent pub food in a nice homely down to earth space. Quiet peaceful location overall, approx 20 min drive to township of Lake Eildon.

Staff were awesome, rooms clean and comfy and will add had a blast in the bar again staff were great, 100% recommend!! Kids loved the fishing across the road, will be back often as Thornton is beyond beautiful. Thanks for the great hospitality

Dined for dinner whilst staying with a large car club. I had the lamb korma curry & it was tasty & a generous serving. Other diners enjoyed their meals also. Service friendly.

Last minute booking as wanted to stay on the way from Mt Buller. About 45mins from Mansfield. Easy to find location. Booked a cabin that had three rooms (easily accommodate 6 adults) , small kitchen, living area and bathroom. All beds had electric blankets, which was great. Cabin was neat & clean (couch had a big stain though). Kitchen had utensils, plates, toaster, microwave and a kettle. Tea coffee facilities. Small individual milk packs (one has gone bad) in the fridge. Friendly staff. On-site bistro for lunch n dinner. Thin walls so could hear the neighbors but we were knackered and fell asleep immediately.

The hotel room we stayed in was basic. Shower area was dated But the bed was very comfortable, the room clean and the price is cheap. No complaints. However the pub food was delicious, we had chicken fettuccine and pumpkin gnocchi from the specials menu. And the wine - you would never know it was the house wine it was so smooth and yummy.. A very pleasant surprise.

Arrived last night for our dinner booking to find power was out. Thank you all staff for still supplying our lovely dinner even with the limited menu. Well done.

Didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised with how good the food were!
All of our 5 orders came in nice & hot, and tasted fresh & delicious. You could tell it was a busy time as bistro was full of patrons but we didn't had to wait very long for our meals.
Lasagne was exactly how it was described- homemade traditional and just delicious. Also hallomoui cheese entrè was crowd's favourite. The rest of the meals also got great feedback & everyone completely cleaned off their plates! They also had some specials going for the night. Such as Goat vindaloo with saffron rice, nan bread & spiced Yoghurt, chicken Kiev etc. All of them sounded pretty good too.
Asked for chilli in lasagne, sauce for burger chips and our every request was met with welcoming smile & done. Clearly staff were patience, accommodating & customer service was top notch.
Mobile accessible, also had clean toilets, pokies and special meals for seniors.

We went for dinner on Saturday night, ordered the Parma, very yummy. Excellent service, nice country menu, and daily specials too. Looking forward to coming back, highly recommend staying at or event just for a drink/food.

Was really amazed that the steak was so good. It was half the plate and cooked really well. Been to a few other places around the area & the steaks aren't as good. This place has great meals at really good prices. Great decor too.

We stayed the night in the mostly vintage/retro motel that had an amazingly comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean, also had dinner at the pub that was well priced and very enjoyable ... would definitely stay again.

Best meal ever. Great, friendly service. Better than my 2 locals. Highly recommended.
