WARNING This is a terrible place to go for dinner!!
Warning do not go to Yarraman Royal hotel for dinner!!
We had the worst experience tonight !!
We went as a group of 6. We all Ordered at 5.50pm for 6 peoples meals including starters. Between us, ordering $200.00 + of orders. Nothing special ordered, just Straight off the menu nothing spectacular and very average pub meals ordered like beef salad and Caesar salad and plain bowl chips and a lamb shank with mash and 2 garlic breads to share to start. It's 7:15pm nearly 1.5 hours later, and nothing for five of us, But one person got a lamb shank meal at 6:55pm but no one else got anything despite the six of us ordering at the same table. At 6:50pm we asked the lady who served us , how much longer for the rest of us to get our meals or even get the garlic breads, and she said our meals are coming out now. She turned up her eyes and stated "It's fine dining here!! " And then she said "they had a new chef so the meals are so much better she said than before and worth the wait!"
But only one persons shank meal came.But 8 mins later then one other persons meal came, A chicken Caesar salad that had shredded chicken, no bacon, no Parmesan cheese and looked like vomit which we immediately sent back to kitchen. Meantime, the first person had eaten their shank meal. There was No garlic bread and no other persons meal served. 7:00 pm came, we were Horrified with still no food. We asked again into the kitchen itself at 7:09 they said the rest of meals are coming out now. Then 7:15pm came and nothing, so we made a phone call to the hotel, complaining to a female named Carol. She came to our table and exclaimed not even apologising, but insisted "it's fine dining here and worth the wait"! But there were only six other starving people after us, sitting at two tables in the entire room besides our group of 6. No one else got their food either for the entire time we were there except for one person out of our group and one other later so much time later , a horrible chicken Caesar meal back to kitchen after one person, the only person, had already finished!! ! There was not even the starter of two garlic breads served!! It should be coming soon she said but we explained one person had finished their meal ages ago!! But No , still nothing no meals even after she left. No garlic bread starters came still after complaining three times. There were only 3 people in the entire bar. It was NOT at all busy, not at all.
Waiting long enough. At 7:27pm We all approached the counter asking for our money back and left the premises.
Another gripe is that I ordered a pot of beer and a glass of Merlot red wine at 5:50pm and the wine came in a scotch glass ???? Only 1cm full ... yes one centimetre!!! For $13 !! ?? I was disillusioned !! I ordered a mother pot of beer and a second glass of Merlot wine (another one centimetre) at 6:40pm and now it's costing $16.50 ? When questioned she said it's fine dining and serving red wine in a scotch glass was modern!! I call Bullshit on that.
The dining place was rubbish, no air con. It was hot n stuffy as if the heater was full stream when the evening was hot weather. There was Not even any cutlery set out on the tables. Fine dining my ass. My guest who had the shank n mash meal had to ask for cutlery. After a few minutes , meanwhile her meal went cold, she was given a child's size fork and a steak knife! ... for a lamb shank and mash potato! ?? Fine dining !! ?? Really??
Never go here folks. The previous management and kitchen staff were way way better. We were so
Embarrassed taking our visiting guests out to dinner and we didn't even get fed.
We will never go back. We drove down to the servo and ordered a few pizzas.
