We went in for the first time today, for lunch. The woman behind the bar(Brooke) couldn't have been more rude. I'm a traveller & everything we ordered, including drinks was a hassle for her. I asked if she knew the foory score, to which she replied. I'm trying to concentrate on making your drinks. Wow 2 drinks are so difficult. We will never stop there again. We walked out & she cost the hotel, probably around $50 plus dollars. We went across the road & the Manager, Mark, was wonderful. Service, spot on & food just as good. Other patrons at the bar, knew straight away who she was & as we told them of our encounter. They said, she's been there too long & is over it. Don't work in hospitality, with that attitude.

Stayed one night while walking Rail Trail. Very clean and tidy, comfortable. Very well set up for the price. Was concerned re noise and lights from pub and RSL but no issues. Would highly recommend.

Rang to make sure I got a ground floor room with two beds.(had person not good on stairs)Get there upstairs room one bed. The state of the room was horrible. Got my money back and got a room at a much nicer place for $50 a night extra. Avoid this place it is rubbish.

A really genuine big old hotel. Very welcoming staff and great cold beers and entertaining staff. Also has a drive-thru bottle shop behind the hotel. The motel units are also behind the hotel, but not near the drive-thru.

They rang me to let me know my order was ready.
Food was fresh and delicious.
Thoroughly recommend this establishment.

Stayed here for work as it was the only option. The room was clean and the receptionist was very nice on check in. I had a horrible sleep both nights because the outdoor fluoros were on 24/7 and there were no curtains covering the high windows. The room was serviced day 1 but not day 2. Overall, do not recommend!

Excellent central location . Comfortable Bed. Lovely hot strong shower in a private bathroom. Friendly welcoming staff. Beautiful historical pub.

Video says it all as to the grott in the room 8.. I wasn't expecting much but honestly this had to be shared. Banging doors and partying guests or I suspect staff (or ghosts ), in next room from 11.30 pm to 1.15am banging doors, squealing, showers and weird Morse code in our light fittings. Road noise and bottle shop ding dong and customers clearly anoying sounds to here when your trying to sleep. Steak was cooked perfectly although had a run in with a little upstart of table runner. Calling me rude and yelling at me for having an intolerance to safry and for telling her rolling her eyes at me wasn't helping her situation with my chips instead of the advertised idhao potato mix up.. Over all unfortunately disapointed to have so much evidence of this bad experience.

Very friendly staff and accommodating to our needs. Food was great, no complaints here. Thank you very much, we will return on our next visit, thoroughly recommend.

Food very average. Menu said grilled chicken burger - came out looking like boiled chicken. Chips were good.

Manager and bar staff were terrific. My meal was mediocre at best.

Motel rooms are a bit dated but for the price pretty good.

We did part of the rail trail from Wondai to Murgon and stopped at the hotel for a coffee, on a Sunday, when little else was open. The staff gave us great hospitality. The publican took time to welcome and talk to us. Would highly recommend this hotel. A friendly, nice town.

Rooms where clean, not showers, water pressure was good. Bed was comfortable plenty of pillows and blankets.
Good mobile and Internet signal. Coffee and tea provided. Had a good sleep.

The staff at The Australian Hotel were extremely helpful and very nice . They let me into my room early so I could freshen up before attending a funeral . The room was tidy and clean

Such a lovely surprise! From the outside it looked very average but when we entered we had a very friendly greeting. Everything was very clean, super beer garden and we all enjoyed our meals and the service. Great country pub experience.

Excellent. Hospitable. Repeat visit for us, will continue to come. Meals are thoughtful and delicious, proper pub grub. Open fire outside, great Saturday night vibe. Must-see for out of towners, very enjoyable.

We went in for lunch right on lunch finishing and we were still served and had one of the best lunches I have ever had, the chef was so polite and happy to help with any concerns but we had none. The food was fresh a very good serving size and looked amazing .. we will be back
