Lovely bistro.
Relaxing atmosphere, the service was great,fast and friendly staff.
The food was good quality and tasty.
Husband had BBQ Parma, and I had chicken and cashew crepe ...very nice for both .

Always a great place to meet up with friends. Not noisy, great food & service although they were short staffed we didn't have to wait long. I've been going to the Rising sun for many,many years & it doesn't disappoint.

Over priced, under delivers.
After paying $7.10 for a schooner of lemonade I didn't think it could get worse.
Steak sandwich 3/10. What could only be described as a wafer of steak, a freshly unwrapped Kraft single cheese slice, then all sandwiched between 2 pieces of oil clogged slightly warmed soggy bread. Chips were ok. Such a disappointment.
Chicken ceaser salad 3/10. Would not make the cut for a pre-packaged Coles deli fridge. The Cajun spice was nowhere to be seen, but luckily they added 10x the sugar needed in the dressing and chewy stale chalky neoprene croutons to make up for it. Someone at the pub needs to try this as I am sure you would not be happy with the quality of it.
Bao trio 5/10, passable.
The $8 150mL pour of Shiraz was somehow worse value than the lemonade.
The staff were nice enough.

Stopped in for lunch , an extensive menu at more than a reasonable price . Friendly service. Excellent meals had with ice cold beer 🍺. We will be back.

Only ate at the restaurant, it was nice. Service was fine, atmosphere fine. I would go back,yet some how it missed the mark. Just not the atmosphere I enjoy, it was not fun, warm or inviting. It did work good for a large group.

Great friendly service, good variety of food. Brother had pork belly and sticky date pudding, I had red curry soup and himilayan beef, very tasty not hot or overly spicy. Enjoyed food here.

Food, staff and drinks were all fantastic! Definitely a great little spot to stop in, will 100% be back next time I'm in town.

Great feed. Well priced. Good beer. Friendly service. Lacking a bit on the atmosphere side of things considering that it is such an old Bendigo pub, but that won't stop a return visit.

Service was very good.Atmosphere was ok. Food: My wife enjoyed her Beef Burger. I had the Pork Belly which was a little burnt. Is was with a red wine jus which I personally don't like. I would much prefer apple served with it.

Great gluten free options. Curry, risotto, steaks. Eton mess.

We were there for a wake so a little difficult to rate correctly. The Nibbles were excellent and plenty of them, drinks were cold and staff very friendly and attentive.

Very late but chef still cooked an amazing burger and waitressing staff amazing as well. Will be back. H

Lovely, polite and very accommodating when I booked! Service was good but waitress didn't look happy, although polite, friendly and very helpful! The food was prompt, although a reasonably busy night! I ordered the Vietnamese Rice Noodle Salad with prawns and it was tasty but looked like a bag of Thai Salad from the supermarket dumped on a full bowl of rice noodles with 5 prawns and cost $24. But the other meals, steak, pork and chicken looked succulent and delicious and were all given great reviews by the happy diners! Would go back for a perfectly cooked steak next time!!

Our group of 4 arrived at 6.00pm for Sunday dinner. We ordered our 4 meals at approx 6.10pm. Two meals arrived at 6.15pm. The other 2 meals arrived at 6.45pm. Half an hour later after asking staff several times when we would expect our 2 remaining meals to arrive. The counter staff or the chef obviously either misplaced or forgot the 2 meals. So dissatisfied with the service and lack of care by the staff.

Friendly staff. We both had a different curry of the day and both were delicious. The naan with the butter chicken was one of the best ever. The house wines are well priced and deliver on flavour. Recommended.

I enjoyed delicious mulled wine, a local red and very tasty spaghetti with seafood. The staff were super friendly and made sure we were all Covid safe.

The food was amazing. We're from Adelaide and always eat at The Rising Sun when in Bendigo. The Salisbury Chicken and the Chicken and Cashew Crepe are just the best!!

Customers Service was nice. Food was not nice. The salad was definitely a few days old - mushy tomatoes and dry carrot. We felt a little off after dinner. Chips were fresh though...

Best place to hold a function - great service from staff, excellent food, and perfect venue. Couldn't fault our experience, highly recommended!

We recently had our baby at Bendigo Hospital and wanted something other than hospital food, so ordered takeaway from the Rising Sun. We ended up having it every night we were there because it was so delicious. Highly recommend both for taste and convenience due to proximity to hospital.

As we were not locals and this hotel was in walking distance to where we were staying, the staff and the locals were exceptionally friendly, and the food was fabulous. During our stay we came here for our meals, certainly worth the money. Everything was great. I highly recommended this place.

Staff cheerful and helpful. Service is very good and comes with smiles. Food is tasty, well presented and at a good price. Today we had a steak sandwich and a chicken and mushroom hotpie and loved it. Thank you to the kitchen and wait staff. We will be back.
