Review of Renmark club: Consistently Disappointing Food, but Great Service

We've attended an event at Renmark club for the last two years, and unfortunately, the food has been a consistent letdown. This year, the vegetarian option was a salad, which, quite frankly, was boring, lazy, and in no way worth the price we paid. The dish felt cheap, as though little thought or care had gone into it. For a main meal, it was a ridiculous offering that left us hungry and unimpressed.

Here's a photo of the dish - just a handful of greens, with no real flavor or effort put into the presentation. At that price, we were expecting something substantial, but instead, we were left wondering if a quick trip to get a pizza on the way home might have been a better option.

A suggestion to the chef: if you're looking for a vegetarian main that's at least satisfying, why not consider adding haloumi to the dish? It's a simple, tasty addition that could elevate the meal without too much extra effort.

On a positive note, the service staff were excellent. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure our experience was as comfortable as possible.

We ordered the duo fish and squid and a Waldorf salad. The squid was cooked to perfection and the salad was delicious. Fish was very good and the views on the Murray were well worth the visit. Pete and Jules (W.A.)

A bit pricy and slow to serve, but the food was pretty good.

Table of 4: went to order from the menus on the table (you can imagine what it's like getting kids to choose what they want) to be told that menu is not available until 12pm, but was the only menu on the table... Grabbed the breakfast menu and ordered 4 breakfasts, but my son's pancakes came out 10+ minutes after everyone else's. Hollandaise sauce was too salty. And the nice river view we came for was blocked off for construction (which I guess can't be helped but does take away from the experience).
Trying to search for some positives: the drinks were nice, and the other waitresses were friendly. But unfortunately overall a bit disappointed.
