The person at the register was not speaking English, I end up not having a cocktail 🍸 🍹. The food was so disgusting that my husband did vomit in the plate. $150 for food that made us sick. What a waisted evening.

Had disappointing dinning lunchtime experience there on Sunday 31st August 2025.
Confusion at the Spotted Dog counter, beers had a extra large head, meals were very poor standard, I had a chicken schnitzel and vegetables no potato carrot very thin and overcooked, friend had a cheese plater no crackers. Use to dine there regularly but unsure if we will go back anytime soon. Use to be good once!

What has happened to the Spotted Dog. Had one of the worst experiences today. We arrived at 9.30am. There was 1 other table there when we arrived, 2 other tables when we left at 10.45. There were 3 of us in the group. We had to queue with a function in the back room. My sister waited 25 minutes before we could order. My coffee arrived at 10.20am. We waited 5 minutes before 3 cakes arrived. Then by 10.30, we were still waiting on the final two drinks and not a staff member could be seen. I waited near the bar then a girl arrived. I was cross, I admit. But my 93 year old mum didn\'t have her coffee and my sister her LL&Bitters. I explained we'd been waiting nearly 50 minutes since being here and we are still waiting on drinks. The girl then argued with me over the counter telling me it had only been 10 minutes and you have a function to attend to. I can appreciate there might have been a group behind the wall (I couldn't see) but there's not even anybody at the coffee machine, making our final coffee. They quickly/grumpily & audibly complaining, made the coffee. It arrived within 5 minutes. Then we waiting another 10 minutes and my sister was not happy. She then had to go to the bar and ask for her drink. The lady did acknowledge she had forgotten to make her drink. Its still not good enough. I have extended family and coming from Melbourne, have coffee out all the time. We all agreed it would be the last time we go to the Spotted Dog. I might add, the new system of cramming the coffee machine, cake stand and line to order food behind the bar and in 1 spot is utterly ridiculous. My sister commented that all the people in the queue whilst waiting and all agreed the service and layout of the venue has dropped considerably and many agreed they wouldn't be coming back. Be careful Spotted Dog, word of mouth can quickly cause a business to go under. I have managed restaurants & bars for over 30 years, this experience was the worst. You had better get your act together and quickly.
