Driven past a million times but first time in. This was never going to be a huge NYE venue which was just why we chose to go. Hope this doesn't offend but staff were all a little more mature than usual which was appreciated. Good selection of drinks, sports bar, gaming lounge and bistro all very separate. Now, the food was fantastic. All 5 meals were faultless. Just perfect and such high quality. Thank you team

Stopped by for some dinner. Always consistent. Wife had the eye fillet steak, I had the chicken parma. Food and service great.

I drive past the Racecourse daily on my way to and from work but haven't stopped in. Recently i noticed a banner advertising a top 10 parma in Victoria and put it on my list as it's a fair claim. I had a half day yesterday and i decided to treat myself to kick start my long weekend and i can confirm this parma is legit. I would have it in my top 3 parmas and i've had plenty in my time. The chicken was thick and perfectly cooked, the sauce had great flavour without being overpowering and the cheese was cooked to perfection. They have also replaced the parma banner with one advertising parking at the hotel rear which the manager on duty could tell me was a new development. Do yourself a favour and go, i'll be back pretty regularly now.

Meals we had were excellent. Bit pricier than it use to be but I thought it was good value.

The roasted lamb salad (special) was below average. Potatos and pumkins were nice but not the lamb. Service was good and the bar itself was nice.

Dropped on on Wednesday night. Had a couple of pints at the sports bar. Moved to the Bistro area. Was quite busy. The dining area looked upscale with nice area table cloths and wine glass.
I ordered the Surf and turf. Nice Scallops and shrimp with a nice tender piece of Eye Fillet on mash potatoes with brocollini .

Stopped in recently for the first time mid afternoon. Didn't see anyone for a few minutes, so we sat ourselves. Then the manager told us we couldn't sit there because it was reserved for dinner only, followed by complaining how 'they were going to have to reset the table' as a result of us sitting there. Bizarre, seeing as we could have just...continued on with our meal since they were going to have to 'reset the table' anyways?! Anyways, we moved to a different spot. They had a limited menu, so we ordered the calamari. I'll be perfectly honest: whatever that was, it was not calamari. Tasted more like a Hoki or Whiting tossed in some breading and seasoning used for calamari. Between the rude manager and some questionable 'fish', can't say we have any intentions of ever coming back.

When Calamari is on the menu as a starter and seniors main meal, but when you ask if you can have it as a main, you are told,
"No, the menu is fixed, and the chef is immovable!"
- then I won't come back!
The menu is pretty 'meh', to start off with. Really boring.
They are much more accommodating and the menu more exciting at The Glasshouse Hotel in Caulfield, which is where I will go to eat in the future.
The old floor is interesting and that is about the only thing that is.
Staff are lovely, and the cocktails are good, but don't go for the food!

Good ole fashion pub/bistro with good ole fashion grub. Wasn't a fan of their version of the calamari, found it dry. Salad on the Parma was a winner. Staff super attentive and polite.

Lovely atmosphere, come here quite a bit.
I think there has been a chef change over as it was a hit and miss with meals this time round. The creme brulee was cold and grainy- like it had been in the fridge for a few days and missing the mango chutney on both mains🥺 which I was looking forward to.

We had dinner here 5.30pm on the 20/2, just wanted to say thankyou so much. You guys should be so proud of your food and service it was incredible! Our waitress was so lovely to us, we had two kids and she was so helpful and caring, as well as the food was insane!!!!!!!!!! So good! Thanks guys :)

We celebrated a big birthday here with a dinner for 20 people. The staff were all excellent and went out of their way to ensure the night was a great success. The food was very good and all our guests were very impressed.

When my partner and I moved in down the road from here, it was our local pub. Weeknight dinners were always amazing, service is always great. We have since moved 30 mins away, and yet still, last night we travelled so we could spend our anniversary dinner here, like we did the year before. We come here for our special occasions because it just feels so homely, and we know we are going to have a great time. We always feel welcomed, especially by Matilda, who always remembers us and treats us like old friends every time we go
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality, classic pub meal. TIP: always get the sticky date pudding for desert.

Great service, great food, great restaurant, great bar. Pints are cold, food is hot. Would go again.
Pricing reflects on quality, you will not be disappointed and can appreciate the professional service throughout the venue. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.

Had a lovely meal here with our group. The sticky date was so good! Unfortunately the seafood that was with the pasta was a little raw/undercooked, even my friend who I gave the calamari to told me after we left that the calamari was raw for her too

I think the bar persons name was Jacob. He was very attentive to my special needs and helped my brother to get up the stairs in his wheelchair. Service beyond expectations and I will be returning.

Caught up with my sister at the Racecourse. Good location with parking in the street. Good menu with several seniors options. The food is good and staff very friendly. Received our order very promptly!

This place is the best pub I've been to in Melbourne. The staff are friendly and attentive. They have Guiness on tap. And the food is amazing and serve sizes are massive even the kids dishes. What more can you ask go !

Just returned home after another lovely night at this hotel. Fifth visit over a couple of years. Limited menu but always enjoyable and love the table service. 2 lovely girls looked after us and were friendly and attentive, sorry I didnt get their names.

Very impressive place for quality pub food. Feels more like a restaurant and the food is a very high quality with great service. The outside appearance is a bit dated, however it has a good range of menu choices and decent wine list. Definitely one of the better gourmet pubs around.
