Great venue. Plenty of parking spaces. Food service was brilliant and delicious food enjoyed by our table of 10. My calamari was cooked to perfection.

Excellent golf club as a social member. One of the most extensively open places in town. All day food (not full menu) and open late for a drink. When everywhere is shut or not serving food you have this option.

Best drink prices in town. Subsidised by the pokies I presume. You can get a drink for prices not seen since the 00s. Membership gives you a discount. Very extensive drink options.

Meals are full table service whereas a lot of bistros you go up to order. Fairly typical bistro menu with the usual offerings. Great for your usuals like a parma.

As a hack golfer with a high handicap, I've recently played several amazing yet challenging courses. As great as they were and I'll definitely be visiting them again, playing at Portarlington was just 'fun'.
A great layout with challenging holes yet nothing you knew that if you sliced, as I did, a drive onto the next fairway, you still had a chance to recover. At other courses, that sliced ball is long gone.
It was just a great course which was in sensational condition.

Great Bistro, staff were wonderful. Really nice setting amongst the fairways and greens.
Full table service. The food was awesome, cooked perfect, and tastes great.
The only thing was we had a starters and no sooner did we Finnish the starter and the mains were on the table, 10 mins would have been nice to let it settle.
Very clean and well looked after as you would expect from a top class Golf course.
A better selection of deserts would also benefit their menu.
All up I would recommend this spot way before the alternate local pub.

The power was out upon arrival but we were let in after ten minutes or so once the generator kicked in. Staff were a little frazzled but the food was served in a timely manner. As for the calibre, I hedged my bets with a fellow diner ordering a Parma and calamari to share. The calamari was flavourless and the ratio of crumb to chicken on the Parma was completely off, the quality of the chicken was a miss also as it was reminiscent of a schnitzel from the Cole's deli. I will applaud the sizeable serving of chips and the very reasonably priced extensive and delicious spritz menu. The chocolate pudding dessert was yummy albeit small, the lemon tart dessert was overly sweet and had quite an artificial flavour. It also paired terribly with a blood orange sorbet (which was not mentioned on the menu). Overall limited options in the area makes it a popular yet unworthy choice
