I left the Paradise hotel feeling pretty underwhelmed overall. While it presents as a good local venue, the experience just didn't live up to expectations.
Several of the tap beers were either flat or not available, which was disappointing and set the tone early. Service throughout the seating was slow, and to make matters worse, one of our meals was completely missed. While the staff were clearly trying, they just weren't up to scratch on the say, and it showed.
That said, there was one real highlight. The roaming magician was a huge hit with the kids. It was a great touch and definitely added something special for families.
Unfortunately, the service issues and lack of organisation outweighed the positives. With some improvements, it could be a solid venue, but this visit didn't quite get there.

went here to see if it has improved with the new owners as its a good spot for my daughters 5th bday dinner! unfortunately though the food was nice I was put off by a short thick black hair grilled to my steak and a long grey hair in my daughters burger! I told the staff and they offered to remake the food but I saw in the kitchen area and no one was wearing hair nets and it will probably just happen again so we left a lot of food on our plates got my 2 girls there icecream and left

This USED TO BE a great place for steak on a Thursday night - NOT ANY MORE.
Thursday nights were always packed with families for steak night because it WAS a family friendly pub.
Tonight it was NOT busy & the few children that were there didn't have the entertainment room to occupy them, so we got to listen to rowdy children in the dining room who were clearly bored & missing their usual distraction.
You used to be able to place your order, then go to the amazing salad bar for something to nibble on while waiting for your meal.
Not tonight, no, we had to WAIT for our salad bar plates to be delivered to our table (along with bowls we didn't want).
Then we could go to the pitiful excuse for a salad bar. It used to have an excellent selection of salads, NOT NOW.
It looked like they decided to put out the least expensive salad options they could find & tried to dress it up by putting out a whole lot of 'sprinkle/garnishes' to on top.
We don't want sprinkles or garnishes for our lack lustre salads - we want the amazing salad selection that used to be on offer. And we DO NOT want to wait for the plates.
We got our steaks ( which were cooked to perfection) along with a veritable 'forest'' of wilted greenery on the plate - not appealing at all.
Two of us ordered MUSHROOM SAUCE - what we got was something that tasted more like a Dianne sauce & we struggled to find any actual pieces of mushroom in it.
On top of that, the QR codes on the tables DON'T WORK. Don't have them on the table if they're not of any use.
It was so completely different to our previous experiences here that I went & asked what on earth had happened since we were last here.
The answer: NEW OWNERS
Well, 'new owners', if we have to wait to be given our salad bar plate & have the same unappealing salad options to choose from, no entertainment room for children etc (basically ALL THE CHANGES YOU HAVE MADE) - WE WON'T BE COMING BACK.

Such a shame, new management has done the Paradise a disservice. I\'m a regular who has come for dinner more times than I can count. I even had my 30th birthday lunch here last year. The meals used to be affordable and yum, they used to have the best gravy and schnitzel toppings. Admittedly the salad bar used to be a bit average but the mains made up for it. Last night\'s dinner was over priced and average quality. The gravy tastes like magi 2 minute noodles. Getting plates for the new salad bar is restricted until after everyone at the table has ordered their food which feels a bit draconian. There are no familiar staff which is a massive shame as it was nice to be greeted by those who knew us. Overall, the Paradise has burnt down in our mind and we won\'t be returning.

I visited this restaurant for a friend\'s birthday with my 5-year-old daughter, who has coeliac disease. When booking, my friend was told gluten-free chips were available, but upon arrival we were told they weren\'t. The waiter suggested getting roast potatoes from the salad bar instead of providing them as a proper side, and assured me cross-contamination wouldn\'t be an issue. However, the potatoes had a serving spoon contaminated with creamy cheese from another dish.
Our meals came out last, well after everyone else had been served. My daughter received a single piece of fish on an otherwise empty plate - no sides, no vegetables. Worse, the fish was inedible: rubbery, difficult to cut, shredding like overcooked chicken, with a translucent grey tinge suggesting it was undercooked or spoiled. My fish was perfectly fine, which makes it even more concerning that hers was in such poor condition.
I gave her my meal (even though it had touched my chips) so she wouldn\'t sit there unfed while everyone else ate.
The combination of incorrect information about gluten-free options, poor understanding of cross-contamination, a completely inadequate child\'s meal, and what appeared to be rotten or undercooked fish was extremely disappointing. When you have a child with coeliac disease, you need to trust restaurants with food safety - this fell far short.
