This hotel and pub are a joy! The rooms are modern, clean and very roomy. The next time I'm in the area I'll make it a point to stay here. I had a porterhouse steak in the pub and it was fantastic! I highly recommend this place?!

The staff were absolutely lovely, I know my friend appreciated the gorgeous compliments on her hair from one of the female staff members.
The hotel has a really nice atmosphere.
The food was top notch too.
I'll certainly look forward to returning to the North Laura hotel.

Ripped off.
I booked a two bedroom apartment for 2 nights over the phone. Was quoted $165/night. On arrival, was surprised to be charged $190/night. Then given keys to a 3 bedroom apartment. On entering, it was cold. (Daytime temp forecast top 15C, but 10C by our 1730hr check in.) The rear sliding door was wide open. The toilet seat was unsafely spinning on one point of fixation. As well as this, our connecting door to the next unit would not latch shut and was therefore not secure. Certain I had been overcharged for the 3 bedroom unit instead of the two I had requested, and with the broken toilet, I returned to the front bar. It felt intimidating with all the locals listening to my complaints about the unit, and the price. This time I was served by the man I had spoken to on the phone. He said I had been given the wrong information on the phone (by him!!) and reiterated that $190 was correct and the $25 increase was because we were sleeping in 2 beds, requiring extra washing. He said the units had been aired and the lady must have forgotten to shut the door. We were given a key to a different (2 bedroom) unit. Upon entering this one, it too was freezing cold, with sliding door and screen wide open, and wet living room floor from rain blown in. The window in the twin bed room would not close (overnight temp dropping to around 2C). I last came here in September 2022, and enjoyed the stay. I have returned to celebrate my friend's birthday and I am embarrassed and very disappointed. Currently lying in bed at 0330 unable to sleep, wondering why I have been charged this unexpected surcharge of $25 each night for the washing of two lots of bed linen once. I feel quite robbed. If we were here one night, they wash two beds and charge $25. We're here 2 nights, sleeping in the same linen, but charged $50 extra.
Also, whilst there is microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster facilities, there is no plate bigger than a bread and butter plate.
I was due to return here with a bigger group in September. I will not be returning, and I will be feeding back my experiences to the group also.

Stayed a week ago, for some reason two people in a 3 bedroom unit. Couldn't get the living room warm so stayed in the main bedroom with door closed (winter). The cleaner needs to go to Specsavers as there was a high tide mark around the entire bathroom, built up soap scum on the shower floor. Thick dust on the blinds, food stains in the fridge and dirt, complete with a dead fly in one of the bedroom drawers. For $160 a night I expect a bit more.

Have stayed here twice now and the rooms are awesome. Food is good. Staff are generally good. Definitely not as local as the good old days when I grew up here when you knew the publican. Not a lot of love.
