We ate here every day we were in town. The food is delicious and the servings are huge. Prices are reasonable. Staff friendly and speedy service.

About 100 years old so don't expect the decor to be the Hyatt Regency etc. Clean room, comfortable bed, good water pressure in shower and everything worked.
Pub itself was OK with cold beverages and very nice food. Beer garden also had a local poet pre dinner.

Stayed in a caravan site behind the hotel. $15 per night and great food and entertainment inside. Meals were extremely generous in size and the pub/hotel have a great history. They are the location that Banjo Paterson wrote 'Waltzing Matilda'. They have the actual piano. Very clean pub with 1 shower and a few toilets for Caravaners to use. So much to do in Winton and surrounds, ended up staying 2 nights. Do yourself a favour and book into Australia Age of Dinosaurs. It's just down the road.

The food is fantastic and served reasonably quickly. However when I rang to make a booking I was told that I couldn't book a table unless it was 12 or more. I was also told they weren't busy.
When we got there, the only place to sit was outside and of course inside it was full. Such a shame as the meal was excellent.

After enjoying listening to Gregory North's poetry recital and entertaining stories about Banjo Paterson and the history of Winton, I went with 5 friends into the pub's restaurant. We all had a lovely meal and the prices were very reasonable. The staff and atmosphere was great, and we enjoyed chatting with fellow travellers. Great experience all round.
