We were staying at The Cabin, Ghost Gum Gully just up the road and decided to pop into the Mulgowie hotel for dinner on Saturday night, after initially stopping in on the Friday to stock up on some wine and beer. Our host had also recommended we check it out and mentioned that new owners had recently taken over.
Coming from the city, we absolutely loved the relaxed country pub atmosphere. The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the food was really good! We ordered the nachos and Hawaiian parmy, and the drinks were definitely well stocked too.
The new owners and the locals were so lovely, friendly and easy to chat to. We mentioned we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary and even had a few drinks shouted for us, which was such a lovely gesture and made the night even more memorable.
It was also great to see how family-friendly the pub is, with kids happily playing outside on the grass while everyone relaxed and enjoyed themselves.
Would we come back? Absolutely! We had such a great night and will definitely pop in again when we're back in the area.
