Friendly country pub with good meals and a great spot for lunch with the family. It's a nice chilled drive to get here too.

After reading great reviews on the Mulgowie Hotel a group of us travelled there from the Gold Coast on Monday March 25 2024, shocked we were to find the pub closed and deserted...a subsequent check on the hotels website finds the place doesn't open until the afternoon on Monday's. Obviously we should have checked before proceeding on this 300km round trip. Fortunately the nearby Lockyer Hotel at Forest Hill was alive and well. We found this to be a country gem, the food was exceptional, my steak was cooked perfectly, others had the Beer Battered Barra and were similarly pleased. Already we have planned a return trip.

Awesome food and service. Food and drinks are very well priced. It is definitely worth a visit on a Sunday afternoon drive.

We went in a group of 30 who go to a different venue once a month. We have been doing this for nearly 5 years. Today was far and away the WORST meal in all that time. Gave additional star as venue is well done up to replicate old homestead and interesting.

Camping weekend at Mulgowie withmy grand children at the Community centre. We ate at the Pub.

A great country pub with friendly and helpful people. Food is delicious and helpings will leave you completely satisfied. Been there several times and will be back whenever I can.

Drove 4 hours for a show.
Abused by a female staff at the front door even before we were scanned in. Food was awful.. $29 for beef cheeks, lamb shank or pigs ribs which wasn't cooked. Not that you could eat it anyway with a wooden knife and fork. Plus 2 rock hard spuds, 1 raw pumpkin and coleslaw out of hell. Only other choice was a $8 hot dog for kids. No other food, not vegan (not that I am) and nothing for dietary considerations. Wouldn't recommend it... ????'???'???'???'???'?

Main features are: separate bar, bottle and dining facilities. Limited accommodation and on-site camping available behind pub upon request. Gold coin donation camping also available at the showgrounds within walking distance with shower and toilet facilities. Mulgowie pub hosts various events such as rodeo's and folk music events. Speak to staff for more information. Covid 19 protocols are adhered to.

hidden gem, great pub food, ice cold beer.

Lobbed in for Sat night feed and wasn't disappointed. 650g rib eye. Would have to be one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.

They also have a Rodeo (bull ride) that brings the surrounding community together for a BIG FUN night out. Great for families during the rodeo and more for adults after the bull ride finishes

Excellent entertainment is provided after the bull ride, when the arena gives way to dancing boots a plenty.

Despite the large crowd no problems and lots of respectful fun bringing people together.

Great steak for a fairly reasonable price.Probably the only restaurant/bar in the area serving residents south of the place. Chill old-style bar vibes in this restaurant.

Great old country pub. Heaps of room for socialising and dining. Big outdoor bar area. Staff were great. Service was great. Place was clean and tidy. I will be back to try the meals.

We had the best Seafood Basket for $20 and the real nicest Medium Rear 350g Rump Steak, Chip and Salad with Pepper Gray for $18....You should try it for yourself....
