Play Pokies at Mud Hut Hotel in Richmond

I went for dinner only. Ordered sweet and sour chicken special. It was not chicken pieces. It was at best chicken mince or some kind of made up 'chicken' nugget. Disappointing as other reviews were positive.

My parents recently stayed at this motel and really enjoyed their stay. The room was very clean and staff were very helpful and friendly! Highly Recommend!!

I\'m here to do a promo on Richmond Qld. Over the years I\'ve been to the Mud Hut hotel over a dozen times and had dinner. But for the promo, I\'m going to forget my May 2026 bar & dinner experience at the Mud Hut hotel. Maybe they just had useless bar staff on the night that set the ball rolling. Maybe they cannot see a 6 foot bloke at the bar. Maybe I wasn\'t dressed like a local. ( The only fishing shirt in the place) Maybe I\"m too old? Maybe I wasnt meant to be standing at the bar, most others were seated & had their backs to the bar. Maybe there is a policy of keeping the locals happy, as they were left & right of me arriving and getting served straight away. Anyway, I didn\'t manage to order drinks for our group. I tolerate a lot, but this was blatant piss poor service. I even checked for service signage and quietly walked away keeping my cash.
So Richmond is still a lovely place. Just bring your own drinks & chill on your balcony. Or go to the other pub.

We had a wonderful stay at Mud Hut! Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, the food was tasty, and every staff member we met was friendly and welcoming. It made our visit so enjoyable - highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay with great service!
