The fireplace is a key stand-out and the atmosphere is really nice in that part of the dining area. The food has also improved in quality compared over time as has the service.
I think an updated photo on google reviews is needed. That photo is a bit average and underplays the ambience and atmosphere in the place now

So glad pub's are picking up again post pandemic. Menus are more extensive etc. Seniors meals here are excellent and well priced. Open fire adds to the atmosphere, parking accessible, but equally close to public transport if you have a drink, train and buses.

Good quality venue. My family are big fans of the food and atmosphere in the sport's bar.
Ate today in the bistro, although you pay a bit more for the food there, there is a little more variety.

The Mitch has a lot to offer the patron searching for a good dinner with wide and tasty menu items and helpful service. It's open to 4am on a Monday night to just chill. I love that.

18 of us gathered for dinner to celebrate a family birthday and we were happy with the food and service. At our request, the manager and staff were able to change our allocated seating location. Mainly steaks, fish n chips, and a few senior meals were ordered and we also brought a birthday cake. All good! One steak was overcooked and they were happy to replace. Shout out to the kind staff and attentive manager who all worked very hard.

We came on a Wed night at 6:15pm - my husband and adult son. We were greeted by a friendly girl and shown to our table. Entrees we ordered cheesy garlic bread with bacon bits and it was gooey and delicious. They ordered spicy chicken wings which they agreed were spicy and flavourful. For mains we ordered chicken Parma with chips and salad - this was a decent size but not too big. My husband had the bourbon pork belly with veggies which we said was a decent piece of pork and he enjoyed it. My son had the pork belly burger and gave it the thumbs up! Our waitress Danielle was lovely and Manager Matt was also very friendly and lovely. So do yourselves a favour and pop in one night! 😊

Really underrated pub in the south eastern suburbs. Came with the folks to shout them dinner and my goodness. The pork belly was half the size of the plate, and tasted like Christmas. Daniella was our server and besides her friendly smile her charisma is what made our night. The atmosphere is so nice and the space is very open. Can't wait to come back

Pleasant surroundings which are never noisy. Bistro staff are lovely, especially Matthew. We come here regularly and always enjoy our meals. Menu could offer more vegetarian options but there are a few which are nice.

I have been to the Mitcham hotel many times over the years. Things have slipped. Waited at the front counter to be seated for 8 minutes before another person in another party went to the bar to call someone over. The disabled toilet was blocked. One meal was missing from the order so had to line up again at the kitchen counter to follow up and ask where it was. The special - salmon - when arrived was missing the cherry tomatoes. In isolation the individual items are not a concern. But when combined detracted from the whole dinning experience. Mitcham Hotel - lift your game. You need more qualified staff - especially in peak periods - Sunday lunch.

Enjoyed a friendly lunch there. Good sized seniors meals. Not too noisy so you can have a good chat. Service was a little slow considering it was lunch time and restaurant was only about a quarter full.

Thank you for providing some non-alcoholic wines on the menu. I really enjoyed the glass of the non-alcoholic Giesen with my meal. Thanks for being inclusive - keep it up. High Vibes Drinks

Don't get the ribs. They have no flavour.
We also had to ask for them twice, and they arrived after we had finished our other food.
I would expect the food to have more flavour for the price.
Drinks were reasonably priced though. And the staff while busy were friendly, but didn't seem to have "it" together.

Just had lunch here today. The food was excellent, my wife had the duck and I had the Christmas in July roast meal. The other big plus here was the staff who were also excellent, made for a very enjoyable lunch. Highly recommended.

Excellent menu. Food was very good. Lovely waitress who doted on us despite it being a bistro. Bit difficult to get from the carpark to the front door as it was a long way and no parking near front entrance. Difficultly because my partner has leg injury.

The food is good. This is the only pub I have ever been to where a staff member went into the playground and told the children to be quiet. Not family-friendly at all for a pub with a playground. We won't be booking any family birthdays here again.

Nice Pub. We've visited the Mitcham Hotel many times over the years and never been disappointed with anything.
The only criticism if any, the staff can be a bit "iffy" at times. Like they would rather be somewhere else. The food is always good so I guess that makes up for it.

The food was delicious but the service wasn't great. We waited over half an hour after ordering to get the food. The staff were clearly busy and a little stressed by the look of things. The air-conditioning wasn't on or wasn't working so it made the room really uncomfortable and warm. We asked three times for some cool air. I won't be going back there which is a shame because the food really was very good.

There was a lot of people on our table (ten) and all meals came out together, were hot and cooked perfectly.

Nice little local pub. Food was quick, reasonably priced, and decent. Standard pub food. Interior looks to have been renovated recently and was clean, if a little uninspired. QR codes on tables meant covid safety was high, but not being able to even order drinks from the bar keeps it a little arms length on the service

Very nice great service nice food from a great menu including seniors and children section,the pricing was reasonable. If you happen to bring the kids along the hotel has an indoor play area for them along the dining room. They also have an outdoor area for dining or lunches. We found the parking spaces a little tight but that was a minor issue ,we had a great time and a good meal,well done.

I have been here alot lately for work meetings. Last time I was there I ordered a dips and it was amazing. We ran out of bread and they gave us another serve at no charge. The staff are very professional and friendly. The coffee is good and they have never minded us just sitting and working.

Staff always very friendly and helpful. Food great, but no spaghetti bolognese on kids menu which is disappointing.Can be difficult to park because others, illegally, use their car park.Definitely need to book.
