We recently visited the Matthew Flinders hotel and were surprised by how quiet the place was. The atmosphere felt almost eerie, with little to no activity despite it being lunch time.
We ordered our drinks through the app, expecting them to arrive promptly. However, after a long wait, nothing came. We eventually went to the bar to inquire, only to find our drinks sitting there, waiting to be delivered. It made us wonder if the lack of service was because we didn't leave a tip on the app. Is tipping even a thing in Australia? As far as we know, it's not a common expectation, so the experience felt odd.
Overall, the service was disappointing, and it seemed like the staff were disengaged. While the venue itself is decent, the lack of attention to customers really left us underwhelmed.
