The food was not even enough to call a meal for the family and nowhere near the $98 charged. We had considered that the ridiculous bill may have been due to being a public holiday and an included surcharge, but when the receipt was checked, it was not mentioned. It was simply a disgrace for that amount and we will not be back.

Best fish & chips we've had since arriving in Mackay 2 years ago.

Poor service, waited 20min for fish and chips x 2, fish wasn't even the size of my palm and the chips were crunchy outside but undercooked inside. Paid $45 for the meal, definitely not worth the wait or the price. Place use to be great, now not worth the drive out for it.

Was a place for a decent meal. Now they are halving their portion sizes and charging the same price. Burger patties are tiny and the large chips are a single layer across the bottom of the box.
Do yourself a favour and buy your own food to enjoy down by the harbour elsewhere.

Rude staff. Ignored initially and then being served seemed like the biggest inconvenience for the staff member. Expensive and small serves, "family" chips barely feeds 2. Food was average. Lighthouse view was nice.

Ordered my food and then requested a wipe to wipe over the dirty and sticky table, and was met with a "yeah was just about to do that". Waited 15 minutes and ended up having to go back to the car to get baby wipes to wipe my own table down. ? food takes almost an hour and is 100% frozen fish that was so oily, and the chips were over cooked along with the calamari. Only recommend for the atmosphere as it's in a beautiful spot, just so dissapointed how unclean it is.

A great Fish 'n' Chip shop they also serve ice cream ;) the customer service is pleasant and friendly, and the food is excellent. My kids love going there every now and again after school for a treat.

VERY DISAPPOINTING. Save your money and go elsewhere. I was up here from Sydney visiting family and was looking forward to some delicious fresh fish for lunch. We waited over 1/2hr for 2 pieces of fish, 2 potato scallops and 1 serving of chips and then were charged a surcharge for the privilege because we ordered on a Sunday. One piece was $16 for a small piece of crumbed fish and was dry and tasteless. The other piece was also $16 for a small piece of battered fish that was oozing oil. 2 potato scallops were inedible and the chips were luke warm. Then we both felt sick all afternoon after eating it. Total rip off. Avoid at all cost.

Such good fish and chips, and counter lady was lovely and very obliging. Was hesitant to come because of inconsistent reviews but pleasantly surprised. Came for a late lunch however massive queue at mid day, perhaps the staff struggle with big crowds.

Simple asked a staff member for a cloth to wipe a dirty table she said - in a minute - then served her friends - then moved to coffee machine to make them a coffee I gave up after then chatting and asked another pleasant young girl for a cloth! Ignorant girl black hair - earing in nose! Never had such bad service then lunch mmmm fish hadn't drained and this was result - expensive and shocking meal

Up here on holidays and wanted a light meal for dinner close by to were we are staying. Ended up having mackerel and chips (which both were delicious) and/but The lighthouse pizza with added octopus - was one of the best pizzas I have ever had.! Loaded with ingredients, perfect crust and base. Will be going back for the pizza alone before I head home.
Contrary to Dewi's comment below, the whole roasted garlic cloves on the pizza were one of the things I loved about it and, we will be doing that to our homemade pizzas from now on!

OK, so the staff don't always smile from ear-to-ear. So what? I come for the food. I went there again today. The sales person did smile from ear-to-ear... and the food was great. The place is clean and not expensive at all.

Fish was fresh and delicious, and the chips are amaaaazing (the best!). Great local place. I'm not sure what the low scores are about as it's not fine dining, but as I said great seafood in a casual environment with a great view of the boats and marina.

Sounds like hit and miss with this place. Sometimes staff can be a little short. But hey. This is a popular place so lots of customers means things may occasionally go wrong I guess. We've been here many times and not had a bad experience thankfully. Food is always great for us. My wife and daughter just love the prawn sandwich. Great location right on the water. Grab a cool drink, or even one from the next door bar if you want. Bring your dog and sit outside!

Half hour wait for meals.
Worth the wait as always.
Enjoyed the fisherman's basket.
A band was playing outside the pub next door drawing big crowds.
Good atmosphere.

I had fish and chips today. The worst fish I have ever tasted. It was overcooked and burned at the edges, the chips were mediocre and just warm. I last visited about a year ago and said it would be the last time then. But today I was close and thought I would give them another chance. Big mistake. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Highly recommend having a meal here. Beautiful views, great tasting food. Fair priced and didn't have to wait too long considering they were extremely busy. Will definitely go there again. Staff were very welcoming.

Sometimes the staff can be a bit rude and there is always bugs in the salad for some reason...

Not really a seafood restaurant, it's more of a Fish and Chips joint in a posh place. Their Pizza was better than their actual seafood baskets 😅

Change this to a woodfired pizza joint and probably more people will come. 🍕 Pizza was delicious!

Ordered the King Prawn Pizza - never thought they would be actual chunks of garlic thrown on it along with the barely-there small prawns. We went on Easter Saturday & understand it was busy but that's just lazy, poor effort.

Great feed. Pretty good price. Plenty of table and chairs to sit at to eat at and look down at the marina. Very nice.

Freshly cooked seafood and burgers made to order. Fantastic location overlooking Mackay marina. Generous sized meal, reasonably priced. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend

Purchased the family pack. Grilled fish was like rubber, calamari completely missing and also bought crumbed scallops that were ordinary. Waste of money and I recommend cooking your own from woolies or coles fish. Poor quality.

$18 for the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen. We had a guest with us too. It was so embarrassing. A seafood "restaurant" directly opposite a bay full of fishing trawlers; And let's not even talk about the burnt pizza that tasted of nothing.

The food was amazing... We also bought 12dozen oysters and they were Devine.

Delicious food, absolutely fresh, prepared and cooked quickly. It arrived at the table piping hot. The eating area is basic but the view is magnificent! The open windows let the cool sea breeze in making it a very pleasant experience. Will definitely go again.

Our last two orders have been lost!!!The first order we lost $40 in a family pack that we never received.The second time our pizza never showed up. Such a shame as it never used to be like this.Please organise your kitchen and place a person in charge of over seeing how things are run.

Most awful tasting, dry++ chicken Ive ever eaten. Luckily I only got 1/4 chicken! Chips were good. My grandma liked the battered fish. Im sure if you dont get the chicken youll enjoy it.

Decent place to eat around here, the fish was nice and fresh however other seafood was less impressive and tasted store bought or frozen like the calamari. The oysters looked nice and decent size however were very gritty and didn't taste good

Fish and chips were average and expensive. Doesn't represent any form of value for money unless you take into account the location and atmosphere. However, I did rate their North Queensland Seafood Pizza 5 stars; however, they must have changed staff. I now rate the pizza 2 stars. Only half covered in topping and missing the pesto sauce. P.S. when I say half covered I really do mean only half covered, a small section in the middle of the pizza.

Busy as usual but the food was the best. Seafood basket shared with partner and there was ample food for both of us. Everything was just cook superbly. You can see why it gets so busy there that's for sure. What made it special to was the new bike way going out to the harbour. Brilliant ride. Wish we had more bike ways like that in Mackay. Slade point and Keelys road could all use a bit of a doing up to make more a safe ride for all.
