Went for lunch today (Friday), with a friend and neither of us will be back.
I had the Open beef sandwich, which came with chips. The turkish bread, which was the base, was very hard to cut through & the beef was tough to both cut & chew. The chips weren't too bad.
My friend had the chicken schnitzel, that looked like it had been deep fried to within an inch of it's life! It was so well done, it was virtually the same colour as the gravy. The veggies were so over cooked, they looked water logged & mushy. The potato that was on the plate, was very unappealing and I think on the plate to take up a bit of room.
We will never go back & would never recommend.

Latest review from me. Decided to give them another chance and went there for lunch today 23/2/24. Discovered they do have Seniors for lunch. Hubby had crumbed cutlets. OMG the one and only small cutlet was so deep fried it had shriveled to nothing and there was no more than 20 chips, that was at a cost of . I ordered off the lunch menu, and also only got a few chips and 2 very small fish. Lucky it was my birthday month and I only paid for one meal.. Hubby was ready to hand in his member card he was so disgusted.

Loved this place but suddenly they change their menu, put up the prices and take off the Seniors Meals..1/2 meals offered are not the same. Used to have a choice of 1 or 2 or 3 course Seniors.
To think they are a RSL which would have majority seniors.

Tonight I had a delicious seafood crepe with chips and veg. Everything on the plate was so nice. The service was quick and staff were lovely. Also had lunch there on Mother's Day. The room looked great with flowers and heart chocolates. The meal was delicious once again and very nice atmosphere. The Leongatha RSL is one of the best places to eat in Leongatha.
