A group of us went there today for lunch whilst on a bus outing. The table had been pre-booked so they were expecting 19 of us. There were very few other diners there apart from our group. To begin with the ordering process was pretty slow. Another smaller group left the establishment from the ordering line as they were tired of the wait. A couple of meals arrived in a reasonable time, then in ones and twos over the next hour. 7 of our group had to wait for well over two hours for their lunch, with no explanation or apologies. This is totally unacceptable and ruined our day and put our times out for the rest of the trip. The staff were abrasive in their mannerisms and almost chucked the last plates down. We had politely asked three times if the remaining meals would take much longer and were told by a staff member, in a very gruff manner, that she would check but never reported back to us. Those ordering the roast beef and steaks found the meat to be very chewy and hard to eat. When they politely gave feedback to a staff member she blamed the butcher. If they knew there was a problem with the meat, why had they not been proactive in changing butchers, and changed the way of cooking? At no stage were we told the reason for the long delay and there was absolutely no apology. Treating customers like this is very stupid for the venue, who rely on their good name to stay in business. I advised the bus company what had happened and they were very embarrassed and will be putting this venue on their do not use list for the future. Evidently they have used them before and haven't heard of any problems so they have lost a lot of business. Shame on them for treating a group of seniors who had been extremely patient and polite throughout the whole time we were on the premises. One member never got her dessert as we ran out of time and she had to get her money back.
