We dined upstairs with quite a large group. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The food came fairly quickly after ordering.
I ordered the prawn linguine. Chefs kiss! Loved it ?

Food was incredibly disappointing. We had the fish and chips special, the Thai beef salad and the pork bits. The fish was overwhelmed by batter and you could have most definitely purchased something better from the shops. Chips were sad, under-seasoned and soft. Pork bites were mostly fat. Salad was as mainly overdressed cabbage. None of the food was the worth the price tag. Won't be back.

Great foods and services. I really enjoyed the vibe there. Foods are a bit pricey compared to other bars.

Enjoyed a perfectly made schnitzel here last night! Crispy crumbed, creamy mash, fresh broccolini. Couldn't fault it, made to perfection!

My friend and I have dinner at the Royal Leichhardt often, and we are never disappointed.
The food is always good, with more than generous servings.
The service is friendly and prompt.
The food and wine are all reasonably priced, so I would suggest you give them a go.

This is a good local pub and worth a visit. Plenty happening here with good sports coverage with multiple TV screens. A few different places to sit depending on what you want to watch. There are also a number of tables looking onto the street providing an opportunity to have a quieter spot for a good catch up with mates.
We had the pie, mushy pies and mash which was tasty. They also have specials offers on every day at $16 per for a steak or schnitzel which includes a beer or glass of house wine.
Just had another dinner here and the special a salad with grilled chicken and avocado excellent, Cesar salad awesome!

First time I've been here. So many nice places upstairs. We sat in the botanical garden room which is very pretty. Also the balcony was nice. Great atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff. The lamb shoulder was the nicest I've ever tasted ! Great portion sizes too. The squid and pork belly bites were amazing as entrees. There was nothing left on our plates Highly recommend!

The stars are for the nice layout of the venue and the manager on duty today upstairs. The birds that gather around the balcony and sit right next to you was not a nice welcome, then to be given a carafe of water that had residue stuck to the inside from previous use, menu was not vegan friendly nor was the waiter. I ordered a halloumi salad $21 and asked if the cheese could be replaced with avocado or chicken, the waiter was going to find out and let me know... though instead the dish was brought to my friend and I. I was given chicken +$6 and avocado +$4 and my friends dish had halloumi which was sliced so thinly it was not even recognisable. I had one small piece of the blood orange in the salad and the chicken was not edible. I later informed the waiter when he passed us and he said nothing was wrong with it. When the manager came over to clear the plates I informed her and she admitted the chicken was microwaved (as I suggested just by the look and texture) - she removed the extra charges off the bill, though the menu is not appealing and after these little mishaps that was not a hospitality standard by the waiters and food served, I won't be returning again.

First time visiting The Royal Leichhardt this afternoon before a football match at the nearby oval. Atmosphere was relaxed. Service was friendly. Prices were reasonable ($24 for a chicken schnitzel) food came out within 15 minutes of ordering and was fresh and tasty.

The food was exceptional! High quality of food, everything was so yummy! Very friendly staff, awesome cozy environment~ def. Recommend! I would like to come back again. Great experience :)

Nicely decorated inside and upstairs balcony area is cosy.

Food is ok but don't bother with the chips as they are old and not crunchy.

A lovely venue with vibrant settings but with that traditional pub style. Botanical as it suggests, a garden leisurely atmosphere. Good food and good services. So relaxing and family orientated. A gem of a place to try.

Great food, great service. The perfect way to spend an afternoon with the girls. Not sure about downstairs as we were seated upstairs. A place for all occasions.

This is a great spot for dinner. We had a lovely private room, cute decor, good service & all 12 of us had a delicious pub meal.
(it doesn't hurt that it is reasonably priced either)

We would like to thank Patrick and Madeleine and the rest of the staff for providing excellent service at our event on Saturday 30th May. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to cater for the youngsters. The food was very tasty and varied and served while still hot.
We have been to our friend's events at The Royal on several other occasions and had the same experience.
And of course, we'll tell other friends about the overall atmosphere and service at the Royal Hotel.

Had a really good feed here, the sirloin was the best I've had in ages. Chicken parma is always a favourite with the husband who comes here often. Simple and delicious dishes with generous portions. Friendly service and the atmosphere on the balcony is very chilled and relaxing.

Had a group birthday party here and service and food was great. Patrick our waiter was awesome, very professional, friendly and goes out of his way to make our night great Will definitely request his service next time

Lovely wrap around balcony on the second level. Lots of rooms for big or small groups. Decent menu & drink lists.
There's lift access to the second level, to make it more accessible.

Would be a good place to hold a function.
Plus I have it on good authority, from a close friend, that they throw a mean street party

Great atmosphere at this place! It reminded us of famous Balcony at Byron bay. We had an early dinner on Sunday and place was buzzing with people. We all had different dishes and we were happy with food. Service was quick, staff friendly, place is clean and they have all necessary Covid measures in place

Lovely old pub good food options and views of Norton Street from upstairs. Private rooms available. Great service and delicious cocktails. We all had a terrific dinner watching the sun go down from the upstairs.

This is a beautiful pub with good friendly service.Thats where it ends. The food was horrible. I ordered couple things and some were barely edible. Croquettes were greasy oily mushy mess and squid was covered in super thick oily layer of batter. Both incredibly unpleasant to eat...I woke up in the middle of the night with excruciating stomach pain and then some.Little wooden menu holder box had dried bird poo in it...It's a shame as upstairs is absolutely beautiful....

Have been to this venue few times now, always a good experience. My off-the-menu drinks request had not always been accommodated. Food options are also good, last time i paid $28 for 3 prawns, was annoyed by the first impression of the fish, but satisfied after i ate it. COVID-compliant.

I love this pub, it is such a great pub. The food is amazing, cocktails are always great and if you want a good meal during the week and can't be bothered cooking you should try this place!

Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and beer.Sunday roast was disappointing, very tough and dry meat served in huge chunks with no greens. No amount of gravy could rescue the aridity. Yorkshire pudding was more like a pancake, which was nice but different.

Clean, beautiful and very welcoming Pub, divided in ambiences that makes you feel very comfortable. Delicious and affordable meals. Family friendly!All the staff were very friendly from the welcome to the moment to leave the venue.
