The food was horrible. Table of 4.
2 ordered the pork belly. Mostly fatty. No crispy crackling. Everything was stone cold. The two of us left 3/4 of our meal. One had the Guinness pie. No crusty pastry. Clearly microwaved. With no flavour and completely flat. Did not look like a pie at all.
We shared a plate of chips. The chips were less than 2 cm long. Like the dregs of the packet.
Will not get eating there again.

The food ok, but they do their best to ruin the atmosphere every chance they get.

They have the NRL on as loud as possible making it impossible to enjoy a meal.

Don't go here on a Sunday afternoon thinking to meet friends or family for a meal. All you will get is "live and loud" NRL just so the 5 guys sat in a corner drinking 1 schooner an hour can be happy.

Also, poor management.

Came here for dinner with the family. I decided to go here as the menu seemed to be reasonable priced. Thought this might mean the quality was compromised but I can honestly say it wasn't. Reasonable sized meals. Ordered the steaks which were cooked to perfection as requested. Also got beer battered onion rings which was a much larger starter than expected. The kids meals were quite big and they enjoyed it. Loved that the kids schnitzel came with a side salad too. Will we go come back? Definitely.

The only thing I would suggest...
is that they go light on the sault because we can always add more sault if needed but we can't take it off..
So for that reason alone I must take 1.5 points of what would of otherwise been a 10

Thursday special was $16 for a generous schnitzel, chips and salad + unlimited soft drink refills. My brother also swears by the Guinness stew pie. No doubt a new regular spot when I'm in the area.

I have visited semi-regularly over the last four years. It's gone downhill since it became a Merivale venue - prices increased and service decreased. Last time I was here (Oct-22), we ordered off the QR code on the table. Despite the bar being near empty, our drinks took over ten mins to arrive. Despite ordering shortly after 6pm, many of the specials dishes, such as the rump steak, were unavailable. My friend's food came out about 15 mins before mine did, and I had to enquire where my meal was. When they brought it to me, it had clearly been microwaved, because the side dish of butter was completely melted. Not a good experience. No service at all demonstrated. Will avoid in the future.

Was looking for somewhere open on the public holiday and came back to Norton's. Hadn't been in a while, I just wanted to stop in with a friend for lunch. The staff were friendly and attentive, and I was surprised to see a cheap schnitzel and chips at a pub again.

For what you got for the price it was a fantastic meal that came with an alcoholic beverage that went down perfect. It's not often you can go to a pub and get a drink, schnitzel and chips for less than $20 in Sydney these days, not to mention one that was cooked perfectly, in a nice cosy pub.

Can't believe I don't come here for lunch more often, the service was so quick (partly due to it being quiet that day), an overall great pub meal!

my experience was not pleasant for my mother and self reserved a table st Patrick's Day for my mother and myself for lunch was placed at a table very low and put on stools, prior me making reservations I explained my mother was elderly, when I asked for better table was told they would place us at one came available, upon the time I spent there 3 to 4 tables came available. not a pleasant experience the music was great but that's about it...

What a shame the food is not as good since being under new management. I have had 3 different meals over the last 3 weeks and have been very disappointed each time. Won't be going back.

Man this place used to be great. Another Inner West institution taken over by the greed of Merivale. No proper pub landlords anymore just rich kids from Bondi with parents money trying to impersonate hospitality. $10 for Garlic bread what an absolute joke. Higher prices for awful food and absolute zero friendliness from bar staff who look like they'd rather be anywhere else.

Fantastic pub food, great staff, and friendly service. Really recommend the Irish stew and parmigiana and a Guinness or Kilkenny to wash them down with. The retro aesthetic makes for an enjoyable meal.

Great Steak and Guiness pie, sad to see this pub sold to merrivale, will miss the Thursday nights Irish music.

It's okay. It's an odd thing to complain about, but the lighting is just way too bright. Sitting in there at night makes me feel like I am in a supermarket which is a shame as it makes me want to leave. The food can be a real hit and miss sometimes too so don't expect the world.

This place has a great atmosphere with lovely staff. The music isn't too loud so you can have a nice conversation. The food is reasonably priced and has quite big portions. The food also tastes delicious. The only downside is that the smell of cigarettes seems to be quite strong. Other than that it is a great place to bring some friends, have a good catch up, and drink!

Great little local pub. The Irish fare here is comforting and delicious. My top picks are the bangers and mash and the Irish chicken curry. The staff are always helpful and friendly, they are also very knowledgeable.

It's an irish pub that doesnt try to be anything else.Comfy interior with black earth tiles and traditional wooden furniture.If your looking for an antidote to the typical sydney-hemmes-pub wankfest, then the antidote is this place - steak with curry sauce and a pint of guinness on tap - cant beat it.
