Really nice food with very good portion sizes❤️

Bit of a wait to get to the bar, but still pretty good service.

Typical Aussie booze (tap beer, host wine, bourbon coke ,etc) is cheap enough but the quality stuff is a bit over priced.

And the environment is fairly good, but heavily compromised by tacky pokie machines right in the middle😀

I would come here for dinner, but I would not stay for drinks. A couch, beer and TV is better 🍻😏

I've got to give credit where credit is due ! I never have high expectations of pub food but the bistro here is superior. Third time tonight we've been and I am so impressed with the quality of the meals. Steak is amazing, perfectly cooked every time. Oysters are incredibly fresh and some of the best I've had in a restaurant. We've had rib eye, rump, pasta dishes, seafood- all 10/10. Service is great. Prices are cheap!!! I 110% recommend this pub to everyone. Special credit to the kitchen! Well done guys ! *chefs kiss*

First time there. Went for dinner.
All staff were very friendly though.

This was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.
Big fat juicy Rib Fillet cooked med to well, just as requested. And the same for my girlfriends med/rare. And big fat chips.

Compliments to the kitchen staff and whomever purchases the meat.

Definitely will be going again.

After my first review, we have been back here several times, but.....

Haven't been here for about 4 months, and what a disappointment.

My Rib Fillet was well less than a centimetre thick (thin), and it was meant to be Medium to Well done. That means there should still be signs of pink.
See how thick the same Rib Fillet used to be in my old photos.
It also had that many fatty bits visible everywhere.
Even if it was Rump, it was no good.

My partner had the Lamb Chops with veg. The mash potatoe under the cauliflower was stone cold. Surely they forgot to microwave it?
And the cutlets, while a generous portion of 3 and a decent size were ruined by being over cooked, and crunchy. You can see in the photos attached.
My reviews have over 827,000 views, and almost all of them are positive.
It's such a shame that this little tavern has gone downhill in such a short amount of time.
I hope it was just one of those nights for the chef.
But with so many choices in the area and Gold Coast, I won't waste my time going back.

I have been dinning at Helensvale Tavern with my family and friends, for as long as it has been open. It has always been a fantastic venue, with a great casual, comfortable atmosphere and the food delicious 🙌
My husband and I eat lunch here a couple of times a week & I even feel comfortable dinning alone when he is working away. I would much prefer here to the alternative food court options at Westfield's.
This is my new favourite meal, had it 4 times and exactly the same cooked to perfection - Baked Salmon & Steamed vegetables 😀 I always let the chefs know. My favourite tavern 10/10

If they keep bringing bands like The Aliens to their music room, they're going to do well. Good venue for live music.
