What an awesome pub! We stopped in on our way through to Airlie Beach. Stayed in the hotel and had dinner at the bistro. Staff were lovely and the food was amazing! We had the prawns and the snitzels and they were both great! Only saw the garlic bread dealo after we ordered! Rooms were a little old but classic Aussie pub feel + clean and affordable.

We had the pleasure of eating dinner here with no expectations however got blown away.
The chicken parmi with prawns was amazing and huge in size. Whilst i had a regular snitty with gravy and could not finish it due how big it was. Josh the barman exceptional, above and beyond in service and conversation.
You will certainly be on my bucket list for trips up to Harvey Bay or 1770.
Enjoy being the best country pub in Australia.
Didn't stay overnight so I can not comment on rooms.

Stopped in for lunch and safe to say the good is mediocre at best. I ordered the palmy and it was possibly the worst palmy I've ever tasted. Frozen ham pieces scattered around some cold cheese on a soggy snitzel. I was pretty disappointed as I was expecting a better effort from the kitchen staff. bar staff and front of house staff were great but the food ruined my experience. To top it all off I ordered two sides of gravy (as they didn't come with the main meal) and waited for 25 minutes before finally giving up and leaving the venue. Won't be coming back in a rush.

Been there twice.First time ordered Rib and Steak. $38 ? Steak was cold Ribs were just warm.And it was not overly busy.When back couple of weeks later and tried same meal again. And the same happened. Definitely will not be returning.And didn't see any friendly staff.
