Friendly staff and pleasent eating area in the bistro , also the food is perfect

Attended this venue with my partner for the first (and last) time. Left dissatisfied, starving, $92 out of pocket and worst of all, a case of us both seriously ill afterwards, which we suspect was food poisoning.

We both ordered a medium rare surf and turf, $46 each, which was already on the pricey side for an RSL. The meals arrived and the steak was soft, no searing, mushy and unedible as if it had been cooked in a microwave or even boiled.. I couldn't even finish the remaining half due to the concerning texture and taste.

There were only 2 other patrons in the entire bistro at dinner time, and now we know why.

Both woke up in the middle of the night with excruciating severe stomach cramps and gastrointestinal symptoms. Given that we had eaten the same meal hours before and faced the same issues, this is particularly worrying.

Between the poor quality of the food, the cost, and both becoming extremely unwell afterwards, the experience was incredibly disappointing. Would not recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of being a guest at the Eastlake Football club for the Australian Scrabble Championship, we all found the staff wonderful, both the restaurant and bar staff were so friendly and helpful, and nothing was a problem. They deserve a pay rise! The food was delicious and the serves were amazing. One of the ladies who worked in the restaurant even popped over to say goodbye as she finished her shift and wouldn\'t be back before we had finished. If I\'m ever back in Canberra I would definitely visit again. Big cheers to you all and a big thankyou for your welcoming and customer service.

My local go to club. Great ambience. The front staff Monika is absolutely lovely. She always greets everyone with a warm smile which makes the experience even better. I will attach a photo for your reference :)
