Two dinners, a week apart, two different outcomes.
First dinner, 4 people, good meals all round, good value for money but the person taking the orders (part owner, I believe) needed reminding of the importance of being friendly and helpful to customers. Overall, a reasonable evening and I was happy to return a week later.
Second meal, 6 people and only 1 reasonable meal out of the 6. The Asian salad was refreshing, crispy and delicious; the accompanying pork belly was a little dry and flavourless but overall, reasonable.
Four serves of roast pork were very dry; the meat looked as if it had been cooked hours ago. Definitely a thumbs down from all concerned.
The one serve of lamb rack was raw. Pink lamb is lovely, but this was raw. The waitress reluctantly returned it to the kitchen. When it was returned to the table, it was just as raw, but part of the rack had been removed from the plate. The solution should have been to replace the raw lamb with a new serve, cooked appropriately.
The waitress's implied attitude was that "you win some, you lose some."
In the absence of a replacement main course, an offer of a complimentary dessert may not have been accepted but would have gone a long way to appeasing a very dissatisfied customer.
This is not a dining room any of us will choose to dine at again in the foreseeable future, not because of the cooking blunders but because of the way the complaint about the lamb was handled.
