Unfortunately the food let's this great establishment down.
Recently moved to the area and wanted to try out the local tavern for a meal and get together with family, unfortunately was a little disappointed for a few reasons.
1. The menu prices $$
I found the menu prices to be very expensive for a tavern, I understand it may have something to do with the area however in comparison to other taverns I have been to and even nice restaurants I found the prices to exceed what I would typically expect to pay for a tavern meal.
2. Food quality average
The food was well presented when it came out, looked visually very appealing however wasn't very hot, I ordered the eye fillet steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes, I only took a couple of bites of my steak and was unable to eat the rest, concerned that it may have been on the cusp of spoiling, the vegetables were overcooked/ boiled and the mash slightly too salty. The chicken ordered at my table " chicken Breast Supreme" was also dry and unfortunately was not as it was described on the menu at this was disappointing.
3. Customer Service
Although our table was ultimately disappointed with our meals, the customer service was very good and the duty manager dealt with our concern with our food with respect and understanding and although I chose not to have my meal remade the staff were professional and offer a dessert in place of my meal.
4. Atmosphere
A nice view overlooking the mountain at night, ample seating for patrons to sit and cosy seating to enjoy a few drinks or a games room for the adults. The establishment is nicely furnished, inviting and has multiple different areas to sit. The tavern would maybe be a good place to have a coffee or a few drinks and snacks with friends and family but I would not come back here for another meal. Buderim Tavern could be a really great place but the food is really letting it down and unfortunately I was told this. Prior to experiencing it for myself.
