I had beautifully cooked steak, cheerfully served by helpful staff at Blanchetown Hotel. Highly recommend what I tried of their restaurant. Local wine from a vineyard in Blanchetown lead to a lovely visit to Burke and Slater Windery.

Just there for lunch today. Service was friendly and quick. Wife had the Blanchey Burger which she said was very nice. Unfortunately my Beef Parmi was a bit tough and sinewy. Seemed a cheap cut of meat. 3.8 Stars

Couldn't believe this isolated little pub in this small town had so many vego options! It was so great to order a classic pub meal, from the friendly staff, and sit and eat in this scenic and quiet location! An equivalent pub in NSW normally only has chips as an option (my home town ~3000 people, recently removed their only vego option, a burger, from the menu :( ). Am not sure if all SA pubs have such a diverse menu - but was super super impressed for our first SA pub experience!

Pleasant staff, good food a nice mushroom gravy too. I'm probably being picky but I'd love to have a greater range of some local craft beers available even Coopers XPA would be a step in the right direction. Would see me spending more money in future.

Visited during a very busy lunch on a Saturday, ordered medium rare salt bush steak that came very well done (Kitchen was probably swamped more than normal, wasn't worth sending it back)

To further elaborate on Ben Cockshell's review. We were extremely disappointed with how our steak's were cooked. One would think that if you ask
for your stake to be cooked medium rare you wouldn't expect well done!

Also the fact staff ignored us and didn't even ask us how our meals were, yet could see we weren't eating the steaks, yet they asked every table around us. At one stage even the cook was out in dining room asking how meals were as her family were there. Both steaks were left un eaten and when waitress cleared the table, said absolutely nothing.

This is second time in last two months we've had steak and it be completely wrong. First time I asked for rare and got blue and it was completely cold, I had to ask for the steak to be taken back and cooked longer just to get some warmth to it. Clearly steaks weren't room
Temperature before they were cooked.

Definitely won't be coming back.

A basic Pub but we found the Service and Food very good and Toilets very clean. The ambience is warm, cosy and interesting. Impressed by the manager / owner who worked tirelessly despite being short staffed and insisted we relax with our meal rather than rush so he could close as he still had to do the till. Quite chatty, down to earth and a nice guy. A nice Pub with Country town values and hospitality We'll be back.

This lovely local pub provided perfect service, perfect food. We had home made WoodOven Pizza's cooked to perfect. Highly recommend stopping in for a feed!

Well. Just a pub. We had dinner. Our daughter had a good meal, we shared a pizza, was supposed to be a meat lovers, turned out to be a Hawaiian pizza.. staff said it was a meat lover. But no salami etc. So what do you do. But we had a good night, good wine selection. Nice staff. So have a steak.

Lovley place. But we stood around 20mins before we got served. Wasn't busy either...seems more focus around the bar. Food was good.

Met up with others here as a halfway point. A bit cold to sit out on the decking for some but it looked nice. Inside it was clean and tidy including the toilets. Meals were all enjoyed and was there was plenty on everyone's plate. It was nice to find bowls of water out for dogs.

Small group of bikers, all agreed the meals were exellant, service was quick. Definitely will be visiting again

We didn't stop for a meal but wanted a nice place to see and enjoy a cold drink. The walk up from the river was a bit of a steep incline but if my 94 year old dad could do it, then anyone can.

It was so nice to see the history of the place incorporated into the building and each new generation adding to the splendor. The pubs history goes back to the 1850s with a continuous unbroken line of publicans.

There are quite a few different places you can sit and enjoy your meal or a quiet drink in comfort.

Other reviews have some wonderful photo's showing the pubs surroundings in all its glory.

Drinks were reasonably priced, meals looked ok however, the bartender who took meal orders, don't know if he was new or what but couldn't answer questions regarding the menu. Then again it could have been a new menu and adjusting to the change.

For a mid week there was a steady stream of customers so the place must be doing something right.

I would definitely recommend visiting the place as it offers one of the best views for Blanchetown. Next time we will definitely stay for lunch

We just stopped in for a beer on our drive back to the Riverland from Adelaide. Beer was nice and fresh and staff friendly. We didn't eat so can't comment on food. Good location and we will be back as it beats a stop at the petrol station!

Really nice Bartender took our orders, she was really good about everything. Cook was slow, we waited 40 minutes for meals. The beef was tough, garlic sauce was made as a white sauce with corn flower and butter, the garlic flavour was barely there. Chips and onion rings on the other were nice.

This hotel has a good variety of vegetarian and vegan options, unlike most hotels. Lovely spot. You can see the river from the decking area. Waitress who brought out our food was lovely. However they forgot the chips with my meal, but the salad and triangles tasted great! My boyfriend was very happy with his falafel salad. The barteder wasn't very friendly, but i would visit here again.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Excellent outdoor undercover dining area. Staff are friendly and the beer is cold.

Classic country pub, not much more to say. Nice locals, nice staff, nice view. Food was okay, nothing amazing but a decent feed. Worth a stop in for a drink if you're staying a round the area.

My criticism was of the pizza not being as described on the menu. You obviously saw how much of my meal that I ate, then clearly you would have seen that most of the pizza was left on the plate, not only due to the quality of toppings, but the quality of the base and the fact it seemed undercooked.nnPerhaps learn to handle constructive criticism without shooting back a silly response.
