Had a booking tonight and to start with was impressed a locals meal available at a cheaper price, as a group with budgets to consider- unfortunately this is all I was impressed by.

Poor service, waited an hour for very basic meals and only received when asking how far they were. Staff couldn't answer questions about food nor interested to find out.

Cleared the table ourself to be able to have cake.
When asking for the cake staff said we had to pay a fee for this - but when I booked the table they told me they didn't charge for that but that changed tonight at time of service. Then when wanting the box back it had been hacked to get the cake out.

Sadly we would regularly go for meals and celebrations and being local we wouldn't return here due to lack of service.

Really big rooms. Balcony. Not at night if there is a function but otherwise quiet. Great location. Two minute drive to north Hobart. Five minute drive to the wharf. Friendly staff. Great view of the mountain. Big bathrooms

Great quiet area to stay in Hobart, within walking distance to North Hobart - had dinner and dessert a few times downstairs in the pub which was great. Very friendly service and clean room throughout our stay. Budget friendly with parking available for hire cars

This was a great option for Queen's Domain Parkrun, as the start was less than a kilometre away, along a bush trail. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel was a bit old, but I didn't mind the old-fashioned look-and-feel so much. At least it was clean and the staff were friendly. Because the accommodation is over a restaurant and a pub, you do get some noise when you're in the rooms upstairs, but it's nothing too excessive.

We enjoyed our stay here throughout our time in Tasmania. The room was big and had a lovely view, it was very quiet. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant for a couple of nights during our stay and loved the food! Staff were great at the restaurant too.
