I went to the Ararat RSL a few times on my visit to Ararat and I had a good experience each time.

They made a mistake once in relation to getting my meal out on time and they were very apologetic and they looked to make things right. That is a sign of good customer service - if you do make a mistake you own it and look to make it right!

Usually enjoy this place and appreciate all the work they do for veterans but would like to add that the mixed grill is a poorly crafted menu item with comparatively small portions for its price point. The waiter advised us that it would feed three of us but in our inspection we found this to be wildly imprecise. Despite this had a lovely time with the atmosphere.

We've eaten here a few times now while passing through & have always been greeted by friendly staff who are very helpful. Table service is provided. I asked for my Porterhouse steak to be cooked rare & that's what I got. Cooked to perfection... for me. Excuse the photo, I nearly forgot as I was enjoying it.
We also had a nice little win on the pokies... so win win

The venue was used for a family reunion. The food was great, it was reasonable priced, served by friendly polite staff. I would be happy to dine there again.

A huge shout out to the Team at the RSL for the amazing service we received last night for dinner. Under the pump with a massive group booking supporting local emergency services and their community battling the bushfire, their service, smiles and hard work to manage it all did not go unnoticed by our party of 3. I highly recommend you make this venue. Thankyou for a great meal and experience ☺️

Every time I go through Ararat I have lunch here.. I always have the barramundi.. always in batter... and always the full serve.. no half measures here.. Its outrageously good.. the salad is ok.. and I mean that.. it is good.. but I come for the fish.. never had a bad meal here.. love it..

The staff are always super friendly. The RSL meals won't be particularly impressive to foodies but if you are satisfied with good quality down to earth food you will probably find the food pretty enjoyable. Plus they deliver, and have helped me out on nights where I felt like a big meal with a side of veggies but couldn't be bothered cooking. The schnitzel and steak sandwich are good, I recommend.

Pleasantly surprised, not one thing could be faulted.. we met a friend there for lunch all of us mega happy and satisfied.. we live 2hrs away, but are already planning to go back. Our photos show steak with vegetables, & steak with salad. Note all plates totally cleaned up when we finished..no gristle perfection. And dessert is a must, sticky date, and new york cheesecake yum.

I had the pork roast tonight, I asked for mash instead of roast potatoes, and the lot was cooked to perfection, a big thumbs up! Dinner was awesome! Pretty disappointed with the serving size of the chocolate cake, given the price.. However, there was no hesitation from the lady at the desk with helping me sign in, Mickey Mouse, thank you! Staff were quite delightful, cheery and happy to offer assistance. Cheers.

Food was delicious. Although it came slightly late due to the business of the weekend dinner time which is understandable, the manager came to us to apologize and offered a free drink in return. Great service overall.

The bistro manager at this venue are very helpful and accommodating making our dinning experience a memorable one. Food is fresh and generous serving, definitely match most Melbourne City RSL. Good job!
All our party of 7 have really enjoyed our break on our trip back from Grampian,hope to come back soon on the near future.

We oredered Parmas (traditional), pizzas, sausages bacon and gravy and beef schnitzel. Pizzas were mediocre, the rest was perfect. One of the bests in Ararat.

Had no issues. Meals were served within 15 of ordering, they were hot, tasty & plentiful. Both of us couldn't finish our meals - we had the Angus burger which were very large. Drinks were reasonable, so dinner for 2 under $60 is a bonus these days. Good job guys keep it going.

Finally my steak arrived after at least 45 minutes & the vegetables were way overdone- the brocolli was soggy & pale green & the chips were barely warm. The garlic sauce had actual slices of garlic mixed with cheese & cream so it was a bit offputting. It's a shame because the venue appears nice & tidy. I've visited alot of country pubs & RSL's throughout Australia & unfortunately this one doesn't make the list. Pretty disappointing & not worth the $46.00.

The staff were very friendly courteous polite and helpful not to mention very efficient. The toilets were clean and welcoming and the gentleman who first greeted us was a delete and helpful. The club itself had a nice welcoming vibe and was well laid out. The bar staff were also great.

I rang the RSL around 4.30pm on a Sunday to see if we could book for tea. The lady I spoke to said not until after 7.30pm as they were booked out. I explained to her that we driven up for the day for a visit hadn't eaten all day and had a 5 hour trip home so after 7.30pm would be to late for us. She asked where are you now so I told her, "come straight here to us and I'll make sure you get fed" is what she said. We only had a simple choice of food and had to eat and then move on but that was OK with me. We both got a Parma and it was really nice. I thought to myself. This is how hospitality use to be! It was just such a genuine and nice thing to do for people you don't know. I did find that with the limited time that I spent in Ararat that the people were so nice and super helpful. If it wasn't so far out in the sticks I would move here just to be around nice people again. This is something I miss as I'm getting older. So after we ate we had a quick play if the pokies and I won this! Yea! And on our way home we went. 😁

Best place to eat in Ararat! The service was excellent and the staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their menu. Great variety of milkshakes too. The food was beautiful and tasty, never had a complain while we were there and the serving size was big. Well worth the money. A splendid experience!

Staff nice. Welcomes at door. Made sure we where all covid safe. Like that as it's a big deal to feel safe when going out these days. RSLs are one of the best places I have been in recent times that take things seriously and dont cut corners.

Attended Friday 21st of May 2021 for dinner and a drink with my Father and was impressed. The girls working there should all get pay rises 1st class service with a smile and the atmosphere is amazing.The food pricing is standard but I found the alcohol pricing is lower than the norm for Beer / CC and bourbon on tap. 10 out of 10. Lovely bistro with full table service. Small main dishes available. All well priced.
Waffle dessert looked like a volcano with a mountain of ice cream and berries over the top. Nothing boring there! Delicious alcoholic ginger beer on tap . Staff very friendly. Bought some ceramic red poppies there as a fund raising project. Very happy!

Well laid out. Excellent staff. There was no available tables but the wonderful reception lady put one together for us. Great food and prices. Loved looking at all the RSL memorabilia.
