We were staying in the associated MJ McMahon motel. It was great, and the club itself was a good spot for a meal and a drink.

As locals to the area we have been here for meals a few times and meals have been reasonable but our lunch the other day was disappointingly poor. Ordered salt and pepper calamari with salad and my husband ordered the seafood platter/mix....honestly it was like frozen rubbish, fried and chucked on the plate! We didn't even finish our meals. We definitely won't be returning. 1 star🌟

1st time here, chose because I believed it would be a warm place to lunch on a very cold wet day. It was cool inside, everyone had their coates on, not nice. Food was good, no seniors meals. Cpl 1/2 serve options average of $28. Staff were excellent.

Wouldn't recommend. The food here is average at best. The "flake" was chewy and tasted like packet fish you buy from the supermarket. Out of all the different meals we ordered none of them were good. The portion sizes are very small and the prices are expensive. Won't be back

Good pub meals but i want to commend the excellent staff welcoming with smiles and kind service. Food always tastes good with great service.

Never coming again. Staff are great, hence the star. Food is atrocious. Carbonara with zero taste, smothered in spring onions (yuk). Overcooked to the point of annihilation venison and basic garlic bread tasted days old.

Never again.

Had an event on the weekend and they bumped their drink prices right up. Really poor form considering the amount of people in the venue all weekend. Cheap way to make extra $$ and if the event is at the same place in 2024 we won't be returning if it happens again

Overall nice staff and an excellent meal. The building is nice and has a lot of interesting pictures of the history of the town. The only improvement would be around ordering directions as it's a bit different than a standard restaurant.

My husband and I joined the Club today and had a lovely lunch. Such great service from all staff we met. Food in the Bistro was wonderful.

Whoever is cooking the steaks, well done!! ❤️ but a Tbone is not a rib eye. Either change the menu or change the cut. Sorry. Other than that I can't fault the place staff are wonderful it's clean and good meals.

Absolutely delicious! Bloody great seafood sauce, which I had on top of a beautifully cooked chicken schnitzel instead of steak. Staff very friendly, would definitely eat here again.

I ordered a garlic pizza with spicy pepperoni on it as an extra, they cut about 3 small pepperoni slices into slithers and sparingly scattered them around the pizza, but still was charged top dollar.

I also ordered the very standard Parma for my daughter and I with chips and veggies, the chips were okay, but the frozen peas and corn mix with a selection of other vegetables were tasteless.

Boiled-blanched vegetables could still do a fresh herb seasoning on them, a little more for what we already pay can go a very long way.

Disappointing meal for well over $65.

Been going to this place since I was 6, I am now 19 the food and customer service has become absolutely horrible and I was so disappointed! My partner ordered the rip eye steak and instead got a t-bone and then when we told them there was a mistake made the girl was absolutely horrible and rude to us and said either eat it or wait 20 minutes and pay for a new one! My friend and I both went up to the bar twice both times we stood there for 5-7 minutes WAITING for the 3 of them to offer or even serve us, they looked at us and kept talking/ giggling amongst themselves while they knew we were waiting!!! I work in a bar/bistro myself and I would never do that to a customer!!! My partner was in a car accident and obviously looks a bit different now and has to to be extremely careful and a few times I saw them talking and staring at him horrible absolutely disgusting behaviour I spoke to one of the managers and he said he can't do much and now I need to wait to talk to the big manager I am so disappointed honestly made me sick! Hopefully if can get better!

Excellent meal and Jess and staff were brilliant. Had to go to a show so got meal quickly. Lamb Shank just fell off bone so tender. So thank you had a great night.

Menu online isn't updated. And prices have increased too. Looked online before going and chose this place after seeing the menu then couldn't get what I wanted.
Ordered miners chicken... it's pink nobody cared all I got was so sorry.
Till at bar stopped working when they fixed it I would have thought it would be good customer service to come tell and make more money off me but hey I'm just a working women not a man so I prob don't count.

Very good meal. Party of 4, we a ll had something different and we all thought the meal and service was great.

It was quiet and late in the day. Food was good, the service great. Will return.

We enjoy the club, meals, raffles and friendly staff. Good for kids.

We had a group of 13. The food was good and was served quite quickly, although they didn't all come out at the same time. Names weren't taken when the meals were ordered, so when the wait staff brought the meals to the table, they called out "Who ordered the Chicken Parma" rather than the person's name who had ordered it.
The beer was cold.

My third edit to this review, 1st two were below average and although I received some lash back from staff on following visits only because I spoke openly, it seems that the kitchen may have pulled there heads in over the last year or so, meals and service have improved significantly although prices have increased and they now heavily penny pinch in any area they can. Certainly no reward for loyalty here that's for sure, something that may haunt them in the future considering the amount of new people moving to Wonthaggi

Lots of new wait staff also, friendly, courteous, clean and tidy looking.., probably the key to me returning regularly..

Sunday Dinner 23rd May 2021.New to the area, took family out for dinner. I was quietly disappointed with the bistro food and service. Firstly one of my guests ordered a stir-fry and paid extra for cashews as a add-on (listed on menu), meal arrived, No cashews. 2 roast pork meals ordered, the vegetables look like they were from a frozen McCain package floating in water on the plate, while the roast pork was tender it was very bland.Quiet night in the bistro it would seem with no more than 12 tables occupied, the 3 service staff seem to struggle.I would recommend using seasonal fresh vegetables and not cooking them to the point of mush.Overall I'm happy to try this place once more, I hope they lift their game.

Very good service, friendly and quick go get the food to the table. The food is a good selection with a blend of typical pub fare and some different items. I had the nachos which were good, probably ideal for sharing as I could only eat half. My husband enjoyed his calamari. My son had the chicken parm, which was rather disappointing. The sauce was too sweet and too much of it which made the parm breading soggy. All in all, not fancy or special but a nice decent place for a relaxed low key dinner.

Huge crowd but thevservice did not suffer. Good selection of meals good drinks menu easy parking. A truly pleasant experience.

Always a pretty good feed. Plenty of room. Careful on a Friday evening as members draws are broadcast across the venue at a painfully high volume

All I had was the Mexican pizza. But loved it. The place looks amazing. Great feel. Lovely environment. The waitress was so friendly too.
