I really like going to the west theby hotel and I go just about every day / night usually until 6am closing . But tonight/ this morning as I was playing the pokies I had a couple micro naps and snapped back out of them pretty quickly, now just to let you know I'm not a drinker nor do I take drugs I was simply just a bit tired so when the women that was working on this occasion felt the need to come up to me and the first time flicked her finger into my back and said hey if your going to sleep I think you shld leave now! Most places I've been to and played the ppokies have staff that come up to you and politely ask if your ok wld you like a glass of water or something to eat to try and not be rude and wake u up a bit so you continue to spend money and have a nice time at the venue. I fly around the country playing the pokies so I've witnessed how someone shld be treated especially if like myself a regular at the hotel and have been going there long before this very grumpy and quite rude barmaid decided to kick me out . She really has a chip on her sholder and really she shld not even be working in an industry called the hospitality industry because she is far from hospitable she shld work as a night fill at a supermarket so she does not show her grumpy attitude to any member of the public because its after all an industry where you want the general public to come in and enjoy their night / day and keep on coming back and spending money .
I spend approximately 4 to $5000 a week in that hotel and have been going there for the past 30yrs . This has left a rather bitter taste in my mouth and do hope someone with some sort of authority to either reprimand or hopefully sack this woman for being such a bad staff member who shld not be representing the hotel in this manner .

Just moved back from Goldcoast, came past the West Thebarton Hotel to see a friend, the staff Lucy and Briony were absolutely fantastic, told me about the hotel and local areas. Was a great experience and will definitely be coming back 😊 .

5 stars all the way! I don't know the bartenders name in the craft bar but he is absolutely amazing with his customer service ps the wings are to die for!!

Tried one of their Thursday schnitzel's for 15 bucks, got it as a take away, not bad at all, I hadn't been there for ages, they don't do Uber eats but for 15 dollars I will be going again, salad was a bit sad when I got home, probably would have been better if it was not in the same box as the snitty

One word. WOW. This was unbelievable. Schnitzel was incredibly succulent and tasted amazing. Compliments to the chef. Great service also, bar staff very friendly. Highly recommend!

Being a craft beer lover this place was on my list to visit . Must say beer selection is very good and had a meal while there . Went for the slow cooked brisket and was absolutely amazing , delicious the flavours . Highly recommend this place

Went to have dinner to the pub tonight, best service I have had in a while!!
Briney and the whole team tonight we're incredibly kind (I don't have everyone's name but this goes for all, including kitchen team). They went the extra mile to make us enjoy such a special night were my brother got his Australian citizenship.

We'll come back with our friends to celebrate many more memories to come!

The pokies bar at night the female at the venue is rude and is not the right person for the job, she shouldn't be working with such a bad attitude.

The lunch special is very yummy and very affordable. Going into the parking was abit hard.

Unfriendly Bar Manageress brings a cold feel to the usually welcoming, any time of night bar. Otherwise a mixed but excepting variety of patrons some friendly, some distant but none making one uncomfortable.

Very good stuff and customers served excellent. Specially open till 6 am.

A no frills pub and bar, quiz night is a lot of fun on a Tuesday night. The bar and kitchen both struggled to keep up with the crowds with party of our group waiting 15-20 minutes to order and then 40-50 minutes for food to arrive.

Hats of to your staff, in particular Adrienne, who was extremely polite, patient and efficient. Adrienne was running between the front bar and dining area. Adrienne was also full abreast of menu changes and made us fully aware. Her customer service was fantastic. You definitely have a gem there.

Best GF Burger I've had in a long time.
My order was delivered incorrecty to begin with but staff stepped up and organised for the right meal to be sent as quickly as possible. Was worth the wait. Pleasant area with place for small children to have fun.

Horrible, awful service!

We were treated like criminals by the staff. The lady at the counter, in particular, was really mean, rude and racist against us. I didn't realise she had exceptional customer service abilities until I saw her serve and greet people who weren't 'Asian' like me.
I tried to let it go and assumed that the way she behaved is because she didn't like her job or was having a bad day, but every time I and my friends visit, we have the same dreadful experience and our day became horrible. When I expressed my issue to other members of the team, he admitted that her attitude and customer service are not usually like this and she is being like that towards us. I informed him that we've had a really negative experience with her and that it's happened every time we've come, but all he said was 'ok' and walked away. No apologies or showed empathy.

When you're kind to others or simply live as a respectful/polite person you should expect to be treated the same way, but it's always a no here with this lady at the counter.
I have questioned myself what have I done wrong to receive treatment like that. It makes me wonder what the point of being a good/nice person is when 'people' are already so rude and bullies, and what is it going to do that will make a difference. Is it possible for someone to go home and sleep peacefully and be 'happy' when they have done "hurtful" things to others?

Worst pub bar staff so rude and disrespectful treated us like criminals for reading the history on the pictures on the walls.
There were empty glasses everywhere yet only 2other people in there besides us.
Would not recommend to anyone.

One of the best nights in years, low key drinks with good friend Zan. Even gym heads take time out!

I had part of the seafood platter and it was disgusting. The calamari was rubbery and the prawns had a crumbly coating. The 'best' thing about the meal was the salad as it had a couple slices each of tomato and cucumber. Coffee is instant and not from a coffee machibe

Food was good, pretty much pub food and not a huge choice. They have made an effort in revamping the place, resulting in a quiet enjoyable place. Great to enjoy a quiet ale.

Craft beer bar is great top beers and cheap burgers

Excellent bar staff, good meals, and an extensive range of craft beers and stouts that are actually really good.

Good renovated front bar with excellent food specials and lots of craft beer. Nice selection of pokies in sports bar at back (which can be a bit dated but that's part of the charm). House wines are excellent and very good value. $5 cheeseburger special outstanding. Quiz night Tuesday.

Was really friendly staff, I'll definitely return.

Visited the other week and found the member of staff working at the craft beer bar to be unfriendly and unwelcoming from the get go. He proceeded to make inappropriate and offensive comments on several occasions to various members of our group - at one point he grabbed and put his arm around one member of our group and held him there in an incredibly hostile and off putting manner. The whole experience was uncomfortable to say the least and we ended up leaving early.

Other members of staff were lovely, however this one member of staff created a very unpleasant experience for all of us so we will definitely not be returning.

My local, love the selection of beers and the tasty $5 burgers! My biggest wish is warmer lighting to build the atmosphere

I am shocked by the appalling service I received at the West Thebarton Hotel. I will never return here, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone. The manager was incredibly rude and passive aggressive to the group I went with, we were all taken aback by how unfriendly he was. This manager made numerous snarky comments that made us feel so unwelcome and pushed us to want to leave early. He also made a derogatory comment to my friend about being gay. I am truly disappointed in this pub. I didn't spend a cent there as I was so infuriated by the way he treated the group. He had such a nasty attitude, many of us discussed how we will never return. I honestly can't express my anger about my experience with this pub enough. Don't go here. It's not worth your money. The manager is an absolute vibe killer from the get-go.
