Stopped in for a quiet lunch on Monday Public holiday. Staff were fantastic and so keen to make sure our visit was exceptional. Food was AMAZING. The best corn ribs, chicken wings, garlic prawns and hands down the BEST hot chips I've had in years.

Updating review after a couple years. They've done significant upgrades to the beer garden in this place over the last while. It's a really nice atmosphere now and the smoking area does not leak into the main beer garden as it used to. Beer selection has improved. One of our favorite go-to locals in the area.

Eggplant with mash and veg and mushroom sauce was a great portion but slightly undercooked, I would order it again. Staff were great and the back area is spacious and lovely.

Good pub at the top end of Newtown. Selection beers was pretty good and a nice outdoors area, wish there was more open sky in the beer garden though.

Interior is nice and comfy and the bar staff were pretty funny.

Friendly relaxed pub. Loved the food, wine and cocktails. And the antique posters for Resch's. And the beer garden. We'll be back.

Fantastic pub and one of the best outdoor garden spaces I've been in! The whole decor is great, there's a wide range of drinks and the staff are happy to provide recommendations if you need. There's a great atmosphere and the outdoor bar in the garden is a super addition. Certainly one of my favourites in the area!

We just had an excellent lunch at the beer garden. I had the Thai-style squid salad-tender and tasty. She LOVED the Salmon: perfectly delicate flesh but with a super crispy skin with a beautifully balanced spicy red citrus marinade and with small potatoes and broccolini in a real Thai peanut sauce.

Such a great place! I'm more than happy with our choice of having lunch here on a Sunday. I had here my best roasted Yorkshire pudding. The portion was generous and the meat was really well cooked. The place is excellent; the semi-outdoor patio with a tree in the middle is sick. Definitely recommend.!

Decent pub this. Always some good beers to be had. The beer garden is a great place to sit and neck a few. They put the misters on when it's a stinker too, which knocks a few degrees off the air temps.. although as it's an internal courtyard, there's no breeze. So they need to do something to cool your boots.
They had a very delicious red cream ale when I was there recently. Jeezuz it was good. Pretty much drank them out of house and home. Good stop if you're on a pub crawl of the area with a prominent corner plot at the top of the hill walking from Marrickville.

The staff were really friendly and let us taste a couple of beers before deciding. The back courtyard was beautiful and had a very friendly cat residing. ?

Great pub, great food, great staff but for the love all things great please tell security to please please please stop circling around. It is so hard to enjoy ourselves with someone constantly walking around eyeballing everyone. As I wrote this, this guy has walked past 3 times. Other than that, a great place to catch up with friends.

Recently moved to the area and this is now my local. Food was fast, fresh and super tasty. Good menu options for food and wine. A small issue with one meal being missed from the order but the staff fixed it quickly and looked after us.
Good for watching the AFL too.

My favourite low key pub in the inner west. Great beer garden. Food is standard pub fare, but done very well. Beer selection is top notch. Staff are lovely too. Family & dog friendly. Also not owned by one of the big pub chains, which is nice.

Food good, quick & large portions (i had fish & chips). We were outside in court yard, liked that dogs are also allowed. Staff friendly. I would go again.

This place has great food, a leafy beer garden and a decent range of beers on tap. It's a pretty tidy pub but still plenty comfortable and although it's on a busy corner it's forgotten once you are inside. Seems to be a popular spot for lunch or dinner with friends, but also nice for families or work catch ups.

Food is amazing but please teach your staff how to pour a beer properly. It really isn't to hard and it changed the customers experience if the beer is poured properly. And also reduces wastage for your venue!!!

One of Sydney's great real pubs and best kept secrets. The beer is cold and the food including the true pub classics are just superb. More like lunch and a beer at a friend's house, its dog friendly and staff are super friendly and we will absolutely be back.

Service is nice. Friendly staff. Sydney Swans friendly venue. On screens and with sound. Didn't book but got a table with view of the screens. Good local beers on tap, great pub food. Ordered cheeseburger spring rolls, chicken tenders and fries. $42 Good snacks. Dog friendly pub. Beautiful tree in the courtyard with fairy lights. Awesome vibes.

Amazing beer garden and venue, professional and friendly staff, great amenities. Only 4 stars because it would be great if they included a gluten free option for Coeliac folk. Otherwise, a fantastic pub!

This is a great inner west pub! The front bar has great traditional feeling. There are a dozen or so local beers on tap, and there are plenty of TVs so you can watch every minute of the Swans!

Heading outside the large outdoor area is well designed. There is a massive screen and outdoor bar along with the pub kitchen.

Now for the food! Yes! There are many pub classics but for me the salads are outstanding.

We had the jerk chicken salad, crispy calamari salad & beef nachos. They were all great, I highly recommend all three of them.
