We spent an enjoyable evening dining here on a quiet Sunday night in Nov. The place is spacious, airy and comfy with plenty of room to move around. We sat at a booth type table reminiscent of an American diner, but the distance between chair and table was substantial, meaning that one had to stretch to reach one's meal.
The coterie of pretty young female waitresses were polite, friendly and efficient and I was bowled over by the fantastic service. Orders were quickly taken and the food came out without delay, all done with a smile. Couldn't be happier. The gent serving at the bar was also friendly and efficient.
My wife and I dined, and we ordered a single serve of garlic bread, sweet potato fritters, fried greens and a beef schnitzel with gravy, chips and Greek salad. Serving sizes were generous. The garlic bread was nice and warm, served straight from the oven and smothered in creamy garlic butter. A great way to start the meal. The potato fritters were coated in a crispy batter, with a smooth and creamy filling. The green vegetables were fresh and tasty, but my schnitzel was a tad disappointing. It was a little too tough for my liking although the salad and the chips were good. For all that, we paid a reasonable $56. Drinks during happy hour were well priced too.
The ambience is cool, relaxed and laid back with indoor and outdoor seating to choose from.
Toilets were well signposted, spotlessly clean, and well stocked with soap and hand towels.
All in all, a pleasant experience, especially as we were easily able to walk here from our hotel in nearby Warwick Street.
