I have never had a bad meal at the Sussex hotel. The chicken and beef schnitzels are amazing, super crispy and thick! I would highly recommend. The atmosphere was great and the staff are always very helpful.

I am a fly in fly out worker for BHP at Olympic Dam, and my roster is 2 weeks on 1 week off. During my time off I always order the porterhouse steak with mash potato and salad. Without doubt, this is the best meal I've had in quite some time. The steak is of premium quality and cooked perfectly, the mash potato is creamy and the salad is fresh and plentiful. Compliments to the head chef and his brigade... brilliant ??'? Steven Standish.

Can't recommend enough, definitely not your standard pub meal. Main meals were of a high standard, such beautifully created meals.
Pork Belly Main was to die for! Kids lasagna was amazing, just like top quality home made.
Cute kid's desserts too.

Overall impressed and well priced. 5 stars

All 3 of us had a different meal and all were great. Very tasty with fresh ingredients. Staff were friendly and attentive. The beef stir fry was outstanding. As 1 of our party was gluten free she was impressed with the range of gluten free food offered. Easy to park. Will certainly go back

Venue and the allocated table (#34) was great for our party of ten adults. It was lovely and quiet for us to enjoy birthday celebrations for my lovely wife.

The service from the staff on the night in general was great, however, the server looking after us for the evening should be applauded. He was laid back yet attentive and made for good company for our evening.

The meals were all terrific, with a special mention to chef and the kitchen for the slow, cooked lamb dish and the barramundi. However, the eggplant schnitzel (vegetarian) arrived at the table with a sigh of disappointment - there just wasn't much on display (e.g. the three thin slices of eggplant on top of chips looked more like something akin to tempura!)

Fortunately, our trusty server swung into action and sorted out the mild disappointment with more eggplant... Wonderful & thoughtful.

We'll definitely be back

The customer service at this place is unlike any pub. The staff are very friendly and super accommodating. Especially with our toddler. The food is always top notch as well. The chicken parmi is and has been consistently good for at least 2-3 years now. Highly recommend!

Great steaks, have been a few times for dinner, and its never been ridiculously over crowded. Good for a nice meal and conversation you can actually hear as its not too loud.

a generally good experience. meal was a little disappointing - had the $43 scotch fillet steak, which was cooked & tasted ok, but unfortunately a bit on the tough side. perhaps source the meat from a different supplier?

Great lunch, staff really friendly and attentive but not over the top.
Wine a little pricey but good selection.
Veggie filo was yummy and light but $34 a bit steep for what was on the plate.
Sunday $30 roast was really good.

Really nice place ..i hvnt been here in decades ..but i did enjoy the food and the service was really good too ..quite relaxed atmosphere and warm ...we had chicken parmi and must admit massive servings ..all tasty fresh and quality food ..i had the chicken hawaii five -0 ..no complaints from me or anyone ..

Lovely venue. My crumbed whiting was perfect and enjoyed the salad. The Dining Room was not air-conditioned, but had fans on, needs to be air-conditioned. The staff were friendly and efficient,creating a relaxed ambience.

We had dinner at Sussex Hotel Adelaide. It was not what we were expecting for pub food but hey it was amazing. Service was great and both our meals were truly delicious. The chef deserves credit as it was delicious i had the roasted chicken breast and my husband had the risotto yum. Thoroughly recommended.

Had a fabulous chicken schnitzel cooked to perfection and of gigantic proportion, very tasty and delicious! Great food,excellent staff and wonderful environment, especially the karaoke! Six of us went here for dinner, the surrounds were quite pleasant, parking was easy and the service was fine. The chef/cook however can't have been happy working on a public holiday as two steaks were overcooked and a chicken schnitzel dry. Not a good average.

Wait/bar staff were fantastic - apologies for not getting your name to specify your service excellence, dark haired staff legend - we had a big table of mixed ages & were quite rowdy out in the alfresco area. Staff were very accommodating, tolerant and particular about allergies, and were super attentive to our table needs.
Food was pretty good, but we will definitely return for the excellent service.

Great steak, cooked and seasoned to perfection. We ordered 1 medium rare & one rare to test the cooking out & we were delighted that the chef knows how to cook steak properly!! ??'?🏼??'?🏼 Salad dressed well & chips crispy and velvety in Centre. Just thought $42 a bit pricey for a Pub meal considering your order at the bar and get ur drinks yourself. Will come back to try other food.

good food but.... meals ordered simultaneously were delivered very far apart. dessert order was completely forgotten. waitress poured food on my lap while clearing the table and didn't apologise.

Well thought of catering to all patrons. From family dining areas to gaming lounges and bar all secluded space to suit what's comfortable for the guests.

My partner and I went in Sussex Hotel this weekend for unplanned lunch. The place didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and the food....the food love it!! Love it!! Compliments to the Chef. I had the fried Salmon with mash and wasabi puree. I love the fish crispy skin. My partner had the pork and it's huge serving. We both truly enjoyed our delicious food. Will recommend for good service and excellent food 🥩 ðŸ¥-ðŸ-

Such a disappointing meal, Salt and Pepper Squid $26 . Looked great but was so chewy . Worst squid we have ever eaten. Chips were also very salty. Won't go back unfortunately. Dining area looked really nice . Bathroom needed a makeover even a clean and a paint would improve it , floors were all sticky too.

This pub has really improved since my last review 2 years ago. Menu is good, food quality is excellent, good selection of beverages, friendly staff and easy parking have all made for a pleasant experience on numerous occasions in recent times. Two years ago I rated this hotel 4 stars. I'm more than happy to provide a 5 star rating now.

Extensive menu. All the pub favorites there and other dishes to tempt you. Excellent service. Wonderful art deco ambience. Recommend highly.

Lovely decor and good, quick service. They have quite a big menu including lots of schnitzel choices and pizzas, pub classics and some special menu options. The food was very nice but a little pricey.

Was genuinely surprised by this place. An unassuming exterior belies the really inviting and spacious interior. Food was well priced and very family friendly.

Great location, great service and great food, the Sussex Hotel has long been a favourite. They have a great local wine list, great beers on tap, and wonderful food menu, for any time of day. With a Front Bar, Beer Garden (often with live music) a Sports Bar (with TAB facility) and a Gaming room, The Sussex has something for everyone

I have been to The Sussex twice in the past week. Once for lunch in the beer garden, and then, a few days later - for dinner in the restaurant.

It is a self-service style pub, where you go to the counter to order your drinks and take them back to the table. This works well though and the staff were efficient and friendly.

You order your meals from the same counter, and these are delivered to your table.

The food, on both occasions was excellent value and extremely tasty!

For dinner, I ordered the Scotch Fillet steak - cooked medium, and it was perfectly cooked and brought to the table with no delays.

The beer garden was a little rowdy when we arrived for dinner, but it was around 7pm and they had obviously been having a fun afternoon! The beer garden settled down as the night progressed.

Overall, I was very happy with the ambiance, the service, the friendly staff and the price and quality of the food and drinks.

I would definitely recommend The Sussex for a relaxing afternoon lunch or just a few drinks in the beer garden, or for a leisurely evening meal.
