Briars Country Lodge (MOTEL), Burradoo NSW

The Briars Country Lodge (motel) is a hotel located in Burradoo, New South Wales.
They have an average rating of 4.1 out of 652 reviews, with the latest ratings ranging from 1 to 5.
The restaurant is terrific. The decor is on point with very modern tables, chairs, bars, fireplaces, bathrooms and a warm, cozy, relaxing environment in general. Outside they have a large fire pit and TV to enjoy time with large family and friends. Once it clocked over past 5pm, the lights inside dimmed and the outdoor fairy lights were turned on, further emphasising the great atmosphere. Although the pricing is on the higher end, the portion sizes are fair with quality ingredients used. The pizzas are made with quality Italian meats and fresh cheeses. The calamari was cooked perfectly with a great portion for an entree and not stringy or rubbery. Despite a moderate portion for the sticky-date pudding, it was filling and hence was shared between 2 people comfortably. Definitely recommend.

The walls are thin and the neighbours woke us up twice through the night from talking. The rooms need updating but are decent size. Bathroom is fine. Breakfast could be improved. Price for a Saturday night was $270 which is overpriced for what it is. The Briars Inn restaurant is fantastic and makes it all worthwhile to stay there.

Lovely setting and our room was spacious. Breakfast was very disappointing. Hardly anything left even though we were there well within the time. We requested more bread, eggs etc several times, but it didn't arrive. Coffee machine didn't work and no pastries.

Wonderful experience and a very pleasant relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings and grounds, and immaculate presentation.
Friendly staff with happy smiles at every encounter.
Rooms are spacious, very clean and well appointed with helpful, practical facilities, Foxtel included.
Great quality breakfast with wide range of choices.
Will definitely be back to enjoy more country hospitality at this warm and welcoming establishment.
Thank you to all the lovely ladies.

Just stayed here for 3 nights for my partner's birthday. Very comfortable rooms with a lovely outlook to the lake. Breakfast for an additional $20 pp in the Conservstory was delicious and fantastic value. Big shout out to Kelly, Mary and Karen - wonderful customer service, thank you. We will be back!

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment.
Would have to agree with other reviewers, it is overpriced.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, there is also enclosed balcony.

Unfortunately you do not get great views from the apartment, glimpses only.

For the kids the place was a bit adult, would have been good if there were some kids games, luckily we brought some. Foxtel available so we're able to watch some family movies.

Plenty of space in the apartment and a full kitchen, but would have been good if there were some more cleaning products and jay clothes etc to enable easy cleanup.

Only one bathroom for 3 rooms, so imagine it would be a bit of a juggle when full.

There is a washing machine, dryer and dish washer and full sized fridge. But you need to take out all the drinks to use effectively.

Lovely outdoor grounds, played soccer with the kids and great location to the pub.

The cost of the apartment is a lot, be mindful that as you add persons to your booking the price goes up.

Apartment is on the first floor so has stairs, bit of an effort to unload the car and carry everything up, the parking spot is not next to the apartment.

It's a very scenic location. However it's very overpriced. The rooms are clean but run down and in need of an upgrade. Carpeting, shower, and mattresses could use replacing. At night if anyone in the neighbouring room uses a tap, the pipes creak loudly throughout your room. Soundproofing is awful, I could hear the neighbouring rooms conversation. Reception staff were lovely and the grounds were pretty but otherwise, not worth $340 for one night.

Briars is a lovely spot for a couple of night.
It serves breakfast in the Conservatory & then you can get your lunch & dinner at the old pub. All in the same area. Meal are very varied & always nice. There is also a tennis court & a very large parkland type garden, surrounds the venue.
It would be a great place for a wedding ??''

On check out I notified the person at the reception my 87 year old mother in law had a fall down the stairs in the room. I wanted to suggest they have a small lap in the room that could be left on for travellers as it's easy to get disorientated. All the lights connect to the main room above the bed. I stated I didn't want to leave the bathroom light on as it's connected to the fan and was not sure if it would blow out the fan. The reply was you can do what ever you want in the room. I tried to reiterate the danger and I was heading to the hospital I had to lift my mother in law into my car. The staff member suggested next time I don't get a room with stairs. On arrival they only had two rooms left and I didn't know the room had stairs until I was in the room. I was then advised I could bring a torch or a night light. I also didn't know there wasn't a light that could not be left on during the night until turning light off to sleep. I felt as though there was no interest or care factor. My mother-in-law has three fractures to her Pelvis. I am a small 60 year old woman travelling in a Land Cruiser. I managed but was very dissapointed.

Nice country Lodge, rooms are quite simple and old but comfy enough for a weekend away. Very short walk to the pub/bistro, overlooks a nice lake.

Be careful when booking this room. I booked and paid for a three bedroom apartment only to receive an email saying that the rooms you booked and paid for only be unlocked per how much adults are booked in. Even though the beds are listed on the booking what you're going to get in each room.
Example, it said there would be one extra large, one double bed and two single beds.
2 adults and two kids means they will only give you two rooms, regardless if you booked and paid for 3 bedroom apartment. If you're including an extra adult then they want to charge you.
You are not a hotel and can't be playing around like this. It's so unprofessional

Hands down the best customer service I've ever experienced. The rooms were lovely and the setting was beautiful. They even reached out to return an item we left behind 10/10

Everything first class, was a not so busy night so staff were up for a chat and help out with photos.
Spanned crab spaghetti just topped the Tasmanian Salmon and the wonderful Pork Belly. Be sure to go for a walk around the garden and beer garden (was able to keep up with the tennis)

The room is quite spacious for a couple and a baby. It's a garden view which is also accessible to the garden.
The only downside of the room is the old mattress. The mattress is firm and sloped. I feel like sinking into it and I had a back pain after the first night.
Parking is available right at the front of the hotel room.

The rooms are on the smaller side, but adequate. Not super clean. The outlook onto the water and grass is very nice. Overall, the main issue is the price, it isn't very good value, at least for what we paid. It feels like gouging after the pandemic. We are trying to get out and support businesses in all the regional centres but this makes me reconsider. For the price I could get a 2 bedroom apartment in the centre of most major cities.

Amazing place but service needs to be a little more service friendly. Though it's self serve cups and water, for large groups it was hard to get plates or that little four star restaurateur attention. There was a wedding the night before and the cake was left on the table overnight where our next day celebrations were in the outdoor tent. Considering it was an event booking we would have hoped for a little more attention to the room prior for other tenants to come in. Also, we didn't have servers checking in on us during the event but only to leave food at the table. Most of the food was left on one side of the table for 25people and we had to pass food around ourselves. Again just that little attention.

Excellent location, thoughtful menu and more than adequate wine list, very good food, excellent service. Couldn't fault it on a busy night with large groups of revellers, pre-wedding parties and the odd family group. Staff coped magnificently. Highly recommended.

My stay at Briar's was amazing. Our room was very clean and the view was spectacular. Briar's Inn was fabulous and the service was great, we were lucky enough to get a table by the fire and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a weekend away with or without kids! We had our 5 month old with us and the staff made a big effort to make sleeping arrangements comfortable for him.

We have dined at Briar's quite a few times in the past and found the food to be very good therefore my problem is not with the food, rather with the appalling way we were treated by a member of the front of house staff. I came in with a cake and some children's cupcakes to have after our meal and was promptly told that cakeage would be charged to the extent of $10 per person including $10 for each child (of which there were 5 under 5 years plus a baby). Whilst I accept that it is reasonable for a charge be added to our bill for this service, I would have thought an amount of around $25 would have been more than sufficient. To top this off as a parting shot at us we were also told that we only had the booking until 2pm as it was double booked so we had better be gone by them. What ever happened to customer service and a bit of old fashioned good will - we certainly spent plenty of money at the Briars on entrees, mains and copious amounts of alcohol? Disappointed would be the least I could say - you can do a lot better!!

We had our wedding reception at Briars. It was just a small intimate wedding of 20 people but Tiki made it feel so special. She is truly amazing, organised and great to work with. She was so accommodating and went above and beyond to help make our wedding exactly what we dreamed. We also stayed at the lodge for 2 nights as well as most of our guests. No complains from anyone in regards to the rooms. They were clean and bed was comfy. Surprisingly had a great night sleep the night before the wedding.

Enjoyed two nights in the comfortable Briars Country Lodge. The room was nice and clean and reasonably well fitted out with a view of the lake. It was really warm which we appreciated in the cool season. The King Bed seemed to be two ensemble single beds pushed together which was ok but not not as comfortable as we would have liked. The staff were friendly and the Coventry Garden breakfast area was pretty and we enjoyed satisfying breakfast. Overall was very good. Would visit again.

The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Service was fast, and the food was delicious (highly recommend the Sunday roast), although a little towards the expensive side. As it was a sunny day, we decided to sit out the front, on the picnic benches, near the fire pit, which suited us perfectly, and made for a more relaxed atmosphere. A beautiful, historic location for both locals, and visitors to enjoy.

Lovely place in a great spot with its own lake. Room smaller than expected in comparison to advertised photos but was very comfortable and clean. Good beds and spare blankets on hand. Dining room looked lovely although we ate breakfast elsewhere.

I have been going to Briars Country Lodge since 1997. Again it did not disappoint. Out of Town, surrounded by a beautiful lake and the ducks and other wildlife. Rooms where you never have to think or find something. Everything is there. Rooms are spacious and open out to the lake and trees. This time I went with a girlfriend for a two day break. We even meet resident Dog, Milo. Will be back again soon. Thank You to all the staff.

We love staying here. The rooms are so well designed for comfort and every convenience is carefully provided. The split level layout is a brilliant arrangement and gives defined living, sleeping and dressing areas. Lovely outlooks to the private lake entice walks in the beautiful grounds. So peaceful. Excellent breakfasts available in the most relaxing and attractive dining room. We will be back again next year but wish it were sooner.
