Lovely lunch with lots of options, friendly staff, shady outdoor seats and great live music

A pub once called the West end, has had allot of changes over the years. Still a great pub, needs another bathroom though.

Ordered a whiskey sour and pointed out how lovely I find it that they do it with Aquafaba instead of egg whites. Then I spot another bar tender do a cocktail with egg whites - and it was my cocktail. After checking in they said „we're out of Aquafaba" - I was like „but you need to tell customers if you're changing the recipe" he was like „everybody does it with egg white" I was like „but it's in your menu and I've got an allergy" - he was like „we never do it with Aquafaba" - I pointed him to the menu. He didn't bother saying „oh sorry, my bad" or anything similar and that's what I find so rude. Mistakes happen, I honestly don't mind, but his attitude was what pisses me off. Please talk to your staff about customer service and about allergies and work place responsibilities. Cheers

Terrible customer service. Limited options on the menu. They took so long to prepare our food and refused to send an extra salad even though I offered to pay it as extra. Rude staff.

Still just a bit above average. Average food, reasonable staff. I'll return when next I am invited.

What a great pub on the Balmain Peninsula, it still has that friendly locals feel! It has a great beer garden with live music on weekends. Staff are very friendly and they have a great menu with pub classics to modern Asian. The pub is dog friendly with a gourmet dog menu available. On Friday afternoons they have a free sausage sizzle with a selection of sausages!

We had the most tasteless Poke bowl we have ever tasted. The pickled veggies were either pickled in water! (Or left in water?) or washed and had all its flavour stripped, zero seasoning and incredibly tasteless. Sent back for a second try and exactly the same result.
Fish burger was incredibly hot in the middle and not on the outside which is always a sign of lazy cooking for me. Zero taste and zero rating if there was one.

Great pub, good range of regular and craft beers, friendly staff and management, greatly improved menu and food options, great beer garden that captures the sun and live music. Don't forget the free sausage sizzle Fridays

Good little pub tucked away at the bottom of Balmain. Nice cocktails. The food was pretty decent. The outdoor area is perfect for those warmer sunny days! Super dog friendly, they even have meals you can buy for your dog!

The front bar if the Balmain is a fair dinkum front bar. Tiles on the wall, friendly and efficient staff, cold beer, good atmosphere. The food is fine, and the beer garden is a great place to sit on a sunny day and drink the day away. No hesitation in giving 5 stars.

I had a birthday party at the Tiki area of the hotel which made my afternoon very nice and special. All my guests mentioned I've chosen a nice and kids friendly spot. Even though catering and service wasn't the way I expected on the day, the owners and staff of this hotel really care about their customers and will do their best to look after them.

We were in a large group here on a Friday night enjoying a friend's birthday and what a nice surprise it was. A great range of craft beers, wine and cocktails were on offer. In the food department we enjoyed the classic buffalo chicken wings which were cooked perfectly, moist inside & crispy on the outside with a hint of spice and perfect blue cheese ranch sauce on the side. For our mains we shared the garlic prawn & chorizo pizza and the typhoon shelter crab spaghettini. The pizza was delicious with a light crispy base that packed a real flavour punch, the prawn & chorizo were plentiful. The winner on the night was the crab spaghettini which was loaded with crab meat, perfectly seasoned with prawn oil, chilli & a yummy crispy garlic crumb. It was a perfect combination & was simply delicious. A few of our friends tried the steak and chicken burger which were apparently excellent too. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the fast efficient service despite being a busy Friday night & can't wait to go back.

We attended the Balmain Hotel on the weekend and had another terrific experience down there. The food is always good, the atmosphere is fun and the staff are very pleasant and accommodating. It was the right vibe for our catchup and I would recommend to all my friends should they look for a fun bar with a great vibe to head down.

Always enjoy coming here. Service is a bit slow on a Friday but then again it is Friday and it is packed. Great vibe and food is really good.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. Just how we were fooled by the sweet smell of the smoker by the fence. Smell too good to not go in and get some smoked meats.
2 small plates of cold dry meat and a beer $75 later we three it all out.

Always really liked this pub, staff are good and great selection of beer however unfortunately we had a less then impressive experience on the weekend. The food was unbelievably disappointing. The chicken wings were coated in a strange, stodgy batter and the potato skins were tasteless. We then had a steak and burgers for a main but had to send the steak back as was ordered rare and came out well done. The second time it came out medium but we didn't want to wait again for them make it again .The burgers (which I have had before and was previously good) were dry and the chips were under done. I really hope they sort the kitchen out because would love to go back but would definitely think twice if planning on eating there.

Great local with a good range of regular and craft beers, wines and spirits. The tiki cabana was a great spot for our private party and the food was fantastic - the grazing board kept us going for hours and the bakers platter, with a selection of pies, quiches and awesome pork sausage rolls was just what we needed. Highly recommend this venue for parties, local sessions or just a cheeky drink.
