Friendly pub with good pub food. A outdoor area in the back. Dog friendly.

Organised for one hour of drinks at the Alfred during a pub crawl. They were very accommodating and even checked if we needed to move our area from outside to inside as it was 42 degrees!

The Alfred Hotel feels like the perfect mix between old and new. It has some of the classic features of the older style pubs. Tiles. Trough. Beer Posters. Then it has large screen TVs, a good menu, a dining area, 18 beers and ciders on tap, coffee machine, and bright decor. Thanks for a great experience.

Good pub with good evening atmosphere. Meals were good for the prices. Bit rough inside but service was friendly. Worth a visit

The pub looks a bit run down from the outside. I think that's part of the charm. I sought out this place for the $18 steak special on a Thursday night. The food came out and the steak was decent, but I was a bit underwhelmed by their fries. I thought they could have had a couple more on the plate than what they did. I wish I took photos but we were at the back of the pub in the darkened area so was difficult to photograph.

Speaking of that darkened area - it was somewhat outside. They had seating there and as the inside was pretty full already, we sat here. They could've had a light or two - we needed to read our menu by phone torch.

Called in on State of origin match night, place was alive with supporters, great friendly atmosphere.
Food superb considering the how busy it was.
Staff coped really well and even smiled against the Lossing blues.

We happened to walk past this pub after visiting RPA so decided to pop in for dinner. The steak was the best, well priced and excellent. It has a great selection of on tap beers too.

This place has been a second home since dad been in hospital . Meals come with a smile - the staff is lovely. The food is good too! Thanks guys... you are a much needed refuge!

The beef burger is delicious and the chips are crispy and perfectly seasoned.
What I love most about this place is its consistency - no matter how busy it gets, the food is always good and the staff is always amazing.

Reasonable price, chips has been perfectly cooked and it is just perfect amount of servings.

The front makes it look like a gross old-man pub. Out the back has been done up and is much nicer. The prices are decent and the food was pretty good. Dog friendly inside, which is a bonus.

Ordered an Angus steak. It was cooked exactly as I requested. Well priced and the staff were friendly.

The hotel has friendly staff and a nice vibe. It is your typical Aussie pub that has all different kinds of people... Students, professionals, tradespersons, funky ones, tourists, etc. The vibe is positive and nice too and they offer live music sometimes.

Ordered steaks with salad and chips, as well as chicken wings from main menu.
Mains served within 15mins quickly followed by our entree.
The steak was outstanding, knife glided through the well cooked meat, melted in my mouth. All good portion sizes fresh salad!

Good food and a decent price. They have specials through the week. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Excellent Sunday roast. Our table of 8 all unanimously agreed the roast beef with Yorkshire pudding & real gravy was the best we'd ever eaten. Well done to the chef.

Food takes way too long to come, nearly 1 hour wait for Chicken Parmigiana on a quiet Tuesday. And this is the "special". Never going there again.

Such a pleasant place to visit. Friendly staff and had a nice breakfast experience. The place will give you a feel of the 70s 80s bars even though few of the areas have got renovated. The coffee stall setup the hotel had an amazing coffee. Highly recommended for a drink or to eat in.

The food and service were amazing the only downer for the evening was that the music was so loud that you couldn't hear what your companions were saying. We went for dinner early and would of stayed for a few more drinks and conversation but unfortunately we left straight after eating. We even sat out in the back garden thinking it would be quieter than in the main bar area but it was just as loud.

Its a bit bright in here...the management should turn the fluorescent lighting down a notch or two... Its like a tanning bed inside an operating theatre in the main bar, you'll need a welders mask just to take a slight edge off the near total white out conditions....otherwise its a beautiful old bar for a beer or two.

Good cold beer with a good selection... A little on the pricey side at $7 but that might be the going rate for beer in that part of Sydney. The Mountain Goat Pale Ale is also very nice.. currently being promoted 22/10/20

Ordered fish and chips which was tasty but would have preferred just one piece of fish rather than the two which arrived. Seems to be a common feature in Australia to pile the food on. The UK pubs give quite diminutive servings by comparison but I much prefer that as it leaves one feeling less bloated.

This is by far the best pub in Sydney. Great food, friendly staff and icy cold schooners - what more could you ask for?I challenge anyone to go to the Alfred Hotel and not have a fantastic night.
