We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience. Clean room, great amenities close to the town centre. Staff were friendly- and overall great experience

A bunch of friends in town to ride sectors of the Central West Cycle Trail - 2 nights at the PoW.

Steve was great with the initial booking and changes. Then Gabby got involved and was super helpful in resolving an issue.

Checkin was seamless. Rooms are great - good bed, great shower (super hot), plenty of space, easy access to the cars, private from the hotel.

Good range of tap beer - white rabbit dark hit the spot! Dinner was superb pub food (again Gabby solved an issue). Good portions, good food, well cooked. You've got to try the loaded donut fries. After dinner drink by the open fire out the back of the pub.

In summary, really good pub doing the simple things well. Good accom, good food, great service. Huge shout out to Gabby who really goes above and beyond!!

Amazing little town. Stayed here on a work trip and had dinner with 5 star service! Ordered the ribs and surf n turf, meals came quickly, MEAT WAS COOKED PERFECTLY! Justin did a fantastic job! His service was worth a 5 star rating, for a pub too he sure made us feel like we were fine dinning. All staff very friendly and passed the vibe check! ?

Short Review: Great food, great staff, slightly slow service.

Long Review: We got some amazing food, specifically a lovely creamy prawn pizza, on which they were extremely generous on the prawns for the price. Would highly recommend for lunch, great prices.

Horrible woman closing the hotel at the ridiculous time of 10 pm on Easter Sunday. We Walked into the pub at 9pm, she was panicking about having to close at 10pm. She was reluctant to serve us . We were served and she annoyed us on several occasions at our table to leave. Gulgong needs tourists money . Don't be so juvenile as to close every pub early on a public holiday.
She said that the police had driven passed the hotel at 9:50pm to see if they had closed. It sounded like rubbish to the patrons of the Prince of Wales hotel. Fire her. Grow up Prince of Wales . We ate there the night before and the service and food even though it took an hour was fabulous. The attitude needs to disappear. Henry Lawson would be horrified. He's buried next to my great , great ancestors at Waverley cemetery. This was my first trip to Gulgong , as a first fleeter I was astounded by its preservation but to close its pubs by 10pm is unbelievable on a holiday weekend. Please fix this problem.

Staff are very welcoming even when the pub got very busy. Food was delicious. Rooms were clean. Unfortunately, we were woken up by some drunken patrons who got kicked out of the pub and then proceeded to yell and fight out on the street. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Was staying locally overnight for work. Asked at the RSL where the best place to eat was...barman said "don't go anywhere but the Prince of Wales Hotel"! And he wasn't wrong! Looks like wifey might need to join him on the next trip. ?

Our car broke down and we had to stay somewhere for the night in the local area while we waited on a tow truck. The Prince of Wales was a great option - quality food options and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Super grateful we were recommended this hotel. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable and the area was peaceful. Thanks so much!

Stopped and had lunch whilst staying in Dunedoo. Did not disappoint. Lovely old school pub with rustic decor, lots of photos and memorabilia. Staff were friendly, food was delicious, local wines and spirits, and it was nice to see a couple of independent beers on tap.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay! We stayed with a group of friends for three nights and I could have stayed another week! The accommodation was amazing. Everything you could possibly need. A/C was a blessing! Comfortable and clean. Food was great. We ate there every night. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. Great for couples or larger groups. We booked out every room and even had the courtyard to ourselves for games and trivia. Highly recommend!!

It's such a beautiful pub inside, the staff were friendly and the Donut Fries were to die for!!

The rooms were a good size for 2 of us, had everything we needed, the beds were excellent, I loved that there was a sink in the room & we didn't have to try & wash up in the basin! We could open the windows & have plenty of fresh air which is always a bonus
The bathroom was exceptionally clean & fresh. Our room was nice & quiet & the pub at the front was lovely too.
I would recommend staying here!

Stopped for feed en route from Dubbo home. Lovely pub. Country atmosphere. Quiet. Some craft beers and excellent selection of craft gins complete with Fever Tree tonic!

I have had many chicken parmigianas ,but this parmy at the Prince of Wales hotel at gulgong NSW is absolutely awesome ??'? ??'?
Great service and awesome food.

Absolutley a great find! The rooms are spotless and very well appointed. Sparkling clean bathroom and spotless main room and seperate toilet.
Cute courtyard which leads into an outdoor eating area which has background music through stereo speakers, heaps of seating and an open fire (not in use our weekend).
Great little restaurant with great food and super fast service.
The staff are all great and really friendly and attentive.
Only stayed o/night but plan on making a long weekend there soon.
Gulgong is a great little town too, worth the visit

So now we have actually eaten I can say without a doubt,
Fantastic, meals wait time was minimal and the meals are restaurant quality at pub price's
We are from Yarra Valley Vic but will definitely be back

Just drove seven hours to be told I need to have a reservation but yet atleast half the tables were empy. Got told we could sit out the back.. it's raining . Kids are cold and hungry .. this should be a reason that pub never existed . NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANUYONE

Brilliant server (Jeremy), good attitude and friendly even though they were about to close the kitchen. Food was excellent and the wait time was very short, would definitely come here again!

Fish and chips with salad - $10. A great meal at a reasonable cost. Liked the setting and staff were very helpful and polite.

Lovely old pub. Great bar area with open fire, good beer and good pub fare, right in the centre of town. Terrific near new well equipped motel style rooms out back.

Made a mistake booking a room very basic beds really comfy bring your own tea, coffee and milk no microwave outside toilet and shower but they also have cabins next time will book a cabin dinner yummy and beautiful pub with open fire in an outside will stay again

Would highly recommend this place to stay in Gulgong.

The BEST hotel in town, well worth a visit. Entertaining staff, we had a Sunday roast for dinner, entertained by the staff. Sing along available if you request a song. We went to all the hotels in town, this was the best for friendliness, cleanliness, meals and centrally located.

Wow what a fabulous place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights and from the staff to the rooms and food was all exceptional.

The food was generous, well priced and tasty. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They had a great selection of craft beers for a rural pub. The courtyard could do with some misting fans during the height of summer. Apart from that, very well done! A shining example of how a country pub can cater for locals and tourists.

My motorcycle group of 8 riders stopped for lunch at the POW on a miserable wet Sunday. Steve, the Covid Marshal greeted us warmly and monitored our registration process, then steered us toward the last seating space available for a group eight. We were all fairly soaked however after a soft drink and a very nice meal plus some time in the warmth, out we went into the worsening weather and continued on our run. We would appreciate it if the management of the POW congratulate Steve on a job well done. Thank you too to the remainder of the staff. The boys and I look forward to another visit.

Great food, great atmosphere, lovely place and bucket loads if character.. reminds me of an English country pub too.. must visit and the lunch specials at $10 is hands down the best value lunch across NSW yet!

Awesome place

We stayed in August 2020 so during Covid and happy that all social distancing etc was controlled. The pub, people and food are great. Stayed in one of the hotel rooms behind the main building and found this to be excellent.... very new, absolutely clean and very comfortable. Loved the Aussie touch of Arnott's bikkies with your tea! Very good value for money.
