Wonderful view. Food was ok, not much flavour. Cooking oil was dirty and food took nearly an hour to come out.

Commenting on the Bistro. Had a great lunch. The Works burger had everything you would expect but the patty let it down. It was lacking flavor and if I was betting was freezer burned. The salt and pepper calamari was very good though.

Great pub friendly staff, good value meals, ice cold beer w a bottle shop next door. Showers for truck drivers, plenty of parking for trucks and over sized loads at the park just down the road 200 metres. That park also has tables and seats with a nice clean public toilet. Definitely stop again as it's just off the main drag.

I used to stop here years ago for a pub feed. Well what can I say, probably one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. I had the seafood basket & chips, seafood was over cooked & so we're the chips. Partner had the TBone steak salad & chips, T Bone was supposed to be medium rare, more like well done and tough as a boot, chips over cooked, salad had hot English mustard in it. Overall a really disappointing experience. The pub itself is old & outdated looking and in need of a clean.
Definitely would not recommend stopping here.

The Parma review
The chicken was good and big too but had been cooked in a pan and was overcooked on the bottom.
The tomato base was okay and topped off with diced ham and cheddar cheese toasted so golden on top.
The chips sadly were not hot and had been under a heat lamp to long.
The salad was a good size and had a mustard seed dressing on it. Nice.
Three and a half plates cleaned.
But a nice place to hang out.

Shared a few dishes at the restaurant with a friend on crutches, so had to take pics of the menus on the wall to show her. So I thought I would share. This is the menu from Wed April 12th 2023.

Some of the food is quite fancy & unexpected for a pub.

The entree of duck pancakes were delicious. The entree salt & pepper calamari also very good.

The main of a seafood basket, was top notch.

They also made up a greek style salad for me, which wasn't on the menu & was huge & very nice.

I cannot speak for the rooms but the bistro is an easy 5/5 stars from me - quality of the food matches up perfectly with the generous serving size and a fair price.

Well worth stopping in for a decent meal if you are in the area.

Travelling back to Sydney we pulled off for a couple of beers.
Ice cold and served with a smile.
Locals were great, up for a chat.
I had a great parmy and the wife a schnitzel. Fantastic.
Another beer and we were on our way.
A wonderful country town pub.
I will stop in again the next time I pass through

We had a group of 14. Ordering our meals was seamless - consideration was given by staff for slight changes to menu. The wait for meals was not long. Table service was excellent. The dining room was busy, but staff coped well. All meals were well presented and well cooked.

Horrible from start to finish. Lady taking orders was all over the place. Gave us a buzzer but for someone else's food. When we went to collect what we though was our food we asked if it was ours and she said "I assume so". Food was absolutely disgusting. Bacon and meat not cooked and chips were cold. Avoid at all costs.

Garlic and cheese damper? It was a roll from the Iga across the road with cheese and garlic.
Microwaved bacon on a terrible burger.
Happy with location, staff and drinks but the food has a lot to answer for.
Blatantly lying on product names isn't needed.

My 11-year-old son became very sick from eating a kids burger meal. 20 hours later, he is still not well. And the service was awful. When we asked a girl at the counter if we could have a menu, she didn't bother talking to us. She just pointed at the wall next to her.

Surly woman behind the bar wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming. Decent selection of beers and a nice chicken parmi

Nice country pub. Friendly service. Great outside view. Food not that great. My grain fed steak was overcooked and chewy. Couldn't finish it. The garlic gravy was porridge consistency and inedible. The ribs were soft but dry with little sauce.

Visited here for a beer, lots of staff who were always busy. Beer was cold and very friendly service.
Got the ribs which were on special. Huge portion. Cooked well .
Bistro staff also very friendly and meals came out quick.

Go on a Thursday night and you might even win a meat raffle or two .

Nice pub in the town of Bulahdelah, located on the main street. Also has areas out the back looking over the river. The front bar has a lovely rustic atmosphere, you can almost feel the history. The bistro serves standard pub fare so worth checking out if in the area or on the road.

The roast veg were 1/4 Cooked almost cold potato bake?????? Disgusting!
There was a handful of edible carrot cauli and peas also almost cold
The Roast was to be pork ! .... Not to sure about that ... looked like it had been frozen and heated up in MW ... tough as an old boot
When spoke to staff re this they couldn't have cared less
Off to the bake house for a pie .. can highly recommend their food and their staff

We stayed in Bulahdelah on our way to go on holidays and this pub had the most delicious chicken parmigiana that I have ever had! The chicken was so juicy and succulent! The front bar had such a nice vibe in that classic country style small town pub way. We didn't stay here but it was a great spot for dinner and drinks.

Awesome spot to catch up with the relo's half-way between the coast and Port Mac. Always a good feed, and friendly staff. Been stopping here for over 10 years, and don't think I've ever had a bad pizza!

Excellent service and a phenomenal meal. My compliments to Ned, the chef. A pleasant surprise on the trip from Sydney with a gorgeous view.

We walked in with high hopes but soon after finding our way to the bistro that had terrible service, ignored most part when finally served treated rudly but we where hungry so we stayed , after we ordered we grabbed our drinks while in like we saw a lady be incredibly rude to a women with 2 kids asking where the bathroom was , telling them they should know where it is?? Does this establishment not like people passing through?
Then we picked the cleanest table we couple outside which has old dried sauce collected on it and waited for a meal, we thought it would redeem it's self when the garlic damper was rather decent , only to find my steak the chewiest steak I have ever had, my friend mushroom sauce was missing she went to ask and was told they had given it to someone else but wouldn't bring her out some more which is weird,before leaving we found our way to the bathroom that had several signs only a metre apart showing the way in almost a aggressive manner, which again brings us to feel that non locals are not welcome

Sadly won't be going to again I don't think I have ever received such terrible service by staff that just look like they would rather be anywhere else

Great food the barramundi was lovely good service but a bit of wait to get lunch to get to the table

One of my favorite places to stop. Had some great times at this pub over the years. The fire is always welcoming.

Very nice clean hotel. I had garlic prawns with rice. Was very filling and tasty. My cousin had the chicken burger with French fries again delicious. We left fat and happy

Nice place to eat, good veiw out the back. Friendly staff. The chicken burger had some of the best chicken ive had it was perfectly cooked. Salt and pepper squid is a little aggressive, too much salt i think, no good. Oysters are delicious.

Love coming to Bulahdelah and the Plough Inn is the place to go. Good food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Recommend to anyone!

We stopped in on Friday night, grabbed a steak sandwich each and a quick beer. The staff were very friendly, the sangers were awesome with ample filling and a great serve of chips washed down with a beautiful beer. A few of the regular people there were also quite friendly and made for a great atmosphere. Grabbed half a box of beer from the bottle shop which was very well stocked. Would love to go back soon

Nice friendly pub with good size meals. You are made to feel welcome. Live music was playing on the Friday night that we were passing through. Small pokies room but I won so also made my night. Good place to break your trip and have a good meal.

NOT A GREAT FAMILY EXPERIENCEI was weighing up going to the pub or Olivers for dinner and thought Id go local - I shouldve gone to Olivers.The pub has a liquor license restriction on taking under 18s through the main bar, which is fair enough. However, its not well marked and the door your supposed to go through cant be opened from the outside. After someone opening the door and me taking the kids in the correct door the first time, I ducked back to the car and incorrectly went through the main bar the second time. I was then treated badly by the publican who, after yelling at me in front of all the patrons, bizarrely made me step outside the correct door and then let me back in again. This couldve been avoided with a doorbell at the correct door and better signage.Top that off with the fact the meals were average and there werent great kids options and its fair to say its not great for families with kids to stop. If you want to support this small town, go to one of the cafes if its lunch time, or visit Olivers if its dinner. All their staff are local anyway so your $$ will stay in the town.1 out of 4 stars

Great pub in the heart of Buladealah over looking the river. U really do feel u are in the country when u walk into this pub. Sitting inside or outside over looking the Myall and Crawford Rivers. Plenty of choices on the menu at the Bistro. Reasonable prices.

Staff were friendly and a great spot. A little dated but thats part of the charm. The restaurant isn't very wheelchair friendly at the moment

A beautiful old pubwith all of yesteryears charms.. good beer and plenty of smiling face.. love the country pubs.

Stopped in here today and 4 of us had an awesome feed. Everything we had was so delicious. Calamari, sweet potato chips, garlic prawns were so next level, duck spring rolls. Just yum yum yum. Will call in next trip past even if im not hungry, just so I can eat there again.The whole 4 of us were impressed

Terrible service since we entered, they didn't get that we had a reserved table the manager screamed at us and we were told by 3 people that if we don't want to eat then there's the door. Very very poor service skills will never go there again.
