As a coeliac, I ordered and told the girl at Bistro I was gluten-free and needed my meal as labelled on the menu gluten-free. Luckily, I checked when picking up as she had not written these instructions and said she assumed it was as it said so on the menu. Chef made me a new meal thankfully

Highly recommend the food and also their midweek trivia night at Padstow Park! Last night was our first time at trivia and though we were hesitant at the start, we jumped in at the last minute and boy was it a lot of fun! The food - I'm unsure how they're dishing out plate after plate of deliciousness - definitely recommend trying chicken tenders, Mexican schnitzel, fries, and everything else they have on offer! With fun staff, a hardworking chef dishing out all the deliciousness there is and a great vibe, we will definitely be coming back for more!

Some meals were extremely over priced and hard to know what is a decent value meal. 2 in our group ordered a "Platter" which was basically a large plate of chips with brisket that was almost as much bone as meat. Some of the other meals our group ordered were much better value. If you want to pay $72 for a plate of chips order the euphamistically named large plate they call a "Platter".

The inconsistency of price and value probably decided it for us to not return and we'll travel further next time

Rooms are over priced,shared amenities, single small room $400 per week long turm. a/c very poor quality. Daily 2pm till 10pm very noisy from the smoking area public bar directly beneath the accommodation area. No in room facilities whatsoever . The shared amenities are not vented to the outside so it's basically a sauna steam room. Quite uncomfortable if using the toilets while other's are showering. The bistro is the only thing going for it. Basically below price standard's.

This review relates to the accomodation as a Hotel, rather than the bar or restaurant.

A review is a measure of how the expectation a person has aligns to reality.

If this facility was advertisied as a hostel I would give it a 5/5. The room was clean. The communal shower and kitchen were clean and in good shape. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was warm.

However it is advertisied as a Hotel. The room had no water facilities. No basin, no toilet, and no shower. No jug. Everything is communal. Don't even think about room service.
The room only contains a bed, a TV and a fridge.
Being above a bar and next to a busy road, you can't expect a quiet room.

So because of my expectation of what a Hotel should offer versus the reality I found, I can only offer a 1 star rating.

Yesterday enjoyed a great afternoon with friends , the meals were great as well as the staff. Unfortunately only had one staff member making cocktails so it was a bit of a wait, but she did a fantastic job. Unfortunately one of the group had his phone stolen by a customer in the pokie section. Otherwise a great venue

We visited the Padstow Hotel for the night while coming through Sydney. At first we weren't sure where to go for accommodation. We were greeted by a STRIPPER in high heels and very revealing lingerie (pretty much just underwear and bra). We were passed around by several staff members until somebody finally helped us with accommodation.
The accommodation itself was in a good location, right by the train station and several restaurants. Meanwhile the loud yelling of drunk men and women from downstairs as well as beside us in rooms, was quite loud, hard to sleep with such noise. As well as the reek of weed that was lingering.
The showers were communal, and quite frankly i'm disappointed in the state of them. Towels left everywhere and people had left belongings everywhere as well. My partner was given an open shampoo container with barely anything in it.
Very disappointed with our stay.

Just had the best meal we have had in a long time - food out of this world - steaks cooked to perfection - juicy tender melt i your mouth - even vegetables amazing - so good we asked to see the chef - Andrea the chef is talented

Right next to the train station. The service and food is excellent. The entertainment on Saturday afternoon is mesmerising! A great place to go to for any occasion

Perfect location for a quick stay. 1 min walk to the padstow train station. Direct train from airport which is great. Rooms and shared facilities are clean and quiet.

Had dinner here tonight and was blown away as per usual. Great food and friendly staff!

We asked for some small alterations for our baby and the chef was happy to accomodate.

Highly recommended!

Food was nice, poached egg on the caesar salad was strange but I didn't mind it.

Like stepping back in time. Front bar was reminiscent of years gone by when grand dad took me down the local for a lemon squash and a bet. Food was good and inexpensive. Service excellent. Beer range limited...no stout on tap or in bottles! Recommend as a friendly no frills old world pub...long may they remain!

Finally got a chance to try the bistro out tonight. Steaks were very good, my son enjoyed his souvlaki meal & my daughter absolutely loved the nachos. Well done to all the staff at this great venue.

Great atmosphere! Got in at 6pm before the dinner rush.

Enjoyed the food. Only thing I hoped for was maybe some more variety on the menu!

Had a late lunch here with my cousin and her partner. Great steak, chips and salad. Great drinks, reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend !

Had lunch in the bistro on a Thursday, wasn't crowded so didn't have to book, food was really well prepared, reasonably priced, I had the rump steak, with chips and vegetables. I've eaten here before and always good value for money..

I was asked to drink water and eat something before being able be served drinks again, this was after I had had 2 beers. I had already ordered snacks after my first beer (garlic/herb bread, nachos and southern fried chicken) for myself and 2 friends.

Once delivering the food to our table by myself unassisted and no problem, my friend and I started to eat. Only a minute or so later my other friend returned from his smoke break and as he sat down he pulled the plate of chicken off the table and it smashed on the floor.

I went straight to the food service area and asked for some napkins to clean it up, the attendant said yes but was quickly escorted away by her superior.

I returned to the table without service and picked up the broken plate and food unassisted and returned it to the waitress who insisted on taking it at the kitchen entrance.

I was immediately fronted by 'for said' serperior and told I was cut off from drinking for the rest of the night but I could enjoy my food.

After telling her I didn't drop the plate security came and said is there a problem, I said no, she said no it's all good, I stated my point again that I didn't break the plate and I was told again that I wouldn't be served drinks but I could eat my food.

A joke of a place

Accommodation upstairs is great, Bright, sunlit air conditioned rooms very clean, very quiet for a good night's sleep. Neat bathrooms & showers. Coin-op washer and dryer in the laundry. In the kitchen you have your tea and coffee, kettle, toaster, portable sandwich grill, fridge and freezer, there is one in the room too (bar size). Pricewise this place also seems to be the winner, accepting NSW Stay vouchers gives it a considerable bonus. Great pub downstairs, Roberto (the licensee) is a legend, and I also loved Saturday waitress' stunner dress code.
Location-wise it is close to everything, the train station, buses and all sorts of shops.
I strongly recommend.

Unfortunately we will NOT be returning to Padstow Pub. My staff have been frequenting the pub for dinner and drinks for quite a while but last Friday night the manager on duty came and told us that since we had been there from 4pm for drinks that at 8pm we were not allowed to be served drinks. We ate dinner at the restaurant and were quietly sitting at our table talking about work. We had a designated driver and we certainly were NOT intoxicated. It is very sad that on a Friday night that as a staff we can't sit and talk and wind down after for most of us a very trying weekend. We will NOT be back!! So disappointing!!!

Always a great meal at the Padstow Park Hotel and tonight was no different. We ate outside in the Garden area where it was quiet, dry and warm.
We both had good sized meals of crispy pork belly with a delectable sauce and fresh vegetables.
Great service from all the Bistro and Bar staff. Each of them very good natured and very professional.
By the by you can't beat their mid week lunch specials either.
Just a good pub atmosphere.

This place has changed and is infinitely better than the good old days. The food is five star, the beer cold and the hospitality first rate. Trivia on Wednesday night was over subscribed but all people were seated and played. A valuable part of the developing Padstow food precinct with plenty of parking and a spit from the railway station.
