We had family come visit us from singleton and they wanted to go out for dinner at the tav, the last time we went the food was pretty harsh and to no surprise it wasn't any better this time, the steaks were terrible and squid was bad and my partners chicken burger came out raw and Ive had better pizzas from Aldi's frozen section, it's disappointing especially when it's not cheap eating out and this happens, could be a cool place for and drink with mates but not for families, they really need Gordon Ramsay to drop by. We won't return

Corn ribs too over priced and underwhelming.

Ordered steak sandwich x2. Meat was very tough. Oil/butter was smelly on the toast

We did receive a refund for the corn cobs.

Had the best night. Who would have thought on a Tuesday !. Live band playing, Fiona and band was amazing. Tash from the restaurant helped me decide what to eat. All the staff were friendly and genuinely happy to have everyone around. I cant wait to go back. Best mid week night I've had in a long time.

Loved this place. My wife and I are holidaying in Tuncurry and were looking for some place to do some sightseeing and have lunch. We discovered The Tav' on the internet. We checked the menu and were pleased to see that they offered a few old favourites as lunch specials. So, we decided to make this our lunch stop. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The barman greeted us and told us he was pleased we decided to visit. We ordered a couple of drinks from their very large variety of beers and wines and ordered our lunch. We both decided to have the bangers and mash ($16 each). When the meals arrived, we nearly fell over! There were 3 good-sized sausages on a large mound of mashed potato, all covered in beautiful onion gravy and peas. We couldn't finish the meals and were offered a takeaway container by the lovely kitchen receptionist for what was left. It was enough for our dinner that night. I highly recommend The Tav' for a meal and/or drink. There's even a courtesy bus if you're staying in Old Bar. Thank you so much to the bar and kitchen staff for such a memorable experience ??.

Good bus service. Ohhhh yeah ice cold long necks even at 10am. And they don't turn off the coolroom at night so cartons stay cold not like the other bottle shop you can't buy a carton and drink one straight away you have to take it home and put in the freezer to get cold

Very busy Saturday night. Dinner took a long time but food was EXCELLENT and service, staff, company was fabulous. Had a great time. Will definitely come back

Called in for dinner and a drink around 5.30pm dinner was delicious, they are still doing some much needed renovating, which should be great once completed, thanks to staff and service we received.

Ordered pizza to pick up for $16 Tuesday as they advertise but was charged full price $24. When i asked about the special, she said its for dine in only.
I re-read the signs and there was no exclusions anywhere.
I didnt like the pizza either. I know i wont be going back.

Super friendly staff & AWESOME live music including Open Mic on Tues nights from 6:30 where upcoming musos are encouraged to get up & have a go.
Oh, and the BEST food!

Lady who served me was rude and food was not nice at all, the chips had hardly any salt and the place looks very outdated

I have visited this tavern many times over the years and it is very much just a standard pub.

It could however, very much do with an upgrade as it is looks quite out dated and a bit worse for wear. The outside area has a lot of potential but instead has mismatched uncomfortable chairs and small tables.

Food is also average. I find the steak to be a bit chewy and doesn't have the best flavour. Bbq chicken pizza was delicious though.

This is a kids area outside with a play ground and a very small pokies machine area inside.

3/5 starts as meals are bought out quickly and staff are always friendly.

Went for lunch steak was mouthwatering the sides were very generous but the gravy ? wish they could bottle that and sell it the staff were fun friendly and very accommodating will definitely be back

Not a bad place at all. Definitely a local place with regular type people/ not tourists. Long wait from the time you place your order until you actually get your food but it was busy today so maybe not the norm. Had the Warm Lamb salad, Fish & Chips (Barramundi) and the Bangers &Mash.... All were really good plus beer was cold and served fast and staff is friendly. Out back you can bring your dog and there are quite a few people who brought their dog as well. It's all fenced in so no worries if your dog gets loose plus a nice little playground for the kiddos.
Like I said, not a bad place, you should visit if in town.

Had a great night here - it was raffle night, which was a bit of fun even though we didn't win anything.

We did however have some great pub food -
Herb and garlic bread, Beer battered Barramundi and Pasta Meatballs which were delicious and seriously large in size.

The staff were welcoming and really helpful, from the driver of the Courtesy Bus telling us the system on how to get a lift back, to the security guys being really friendly while we waited for the bus.
Would definitely recommend if you are lucky enough to be spending some time in Old Bar!

if you are a tourist or a woman don't bother coming here it's legit just angry old men that only want people to drink beer. Also no one wore gloves or a mask, one bartender did not have an RSA and yelled it across the bar.

Friendly, country atmosphere and nice beer garden. Outdoor live music is a big bonus. Staff are friendly and parking is easy.

I don't mind grungy or rustic or classic tav places places but outside felt dingy and dirty and needs new flooring (timber deck?) and a good pressure wash and the smokers area (if they were in it) was way too close to where everyone was sitting. Meals were $23+ plus $5 on top for chips (!!) and I didn't get much squid and for that price you expect a clean venue.

Fast and delicious lunch. Grabbed the steak sandwich and chips and wasn't disappointed. Kids playground and boats for them to play in topped off a great lunch.

Fully Loaded Pizza should be renamed Scarcely Loaded Pizza. Ordered three on Friday. Staff were great. Hardly any sausage, a few Olives, the odd slice of capsicum, a bit of onion. The cheese was yukky. Tasted like plastic cheese,(sliced cheddar). Asked for garlic on one, got sprinkled garlic. Base was nice. For the price, well below basic. Lift your act Tav. I won't be buying another pizza there.

Great pub with a true blue hospitality feel to it..Meals while expensive are very well cooked...Atmosphere is great with live music a added bonus...

Unfortunately didn't get any pictures, though the pizza's were really good, service was fast. Beer was cold. Made for a good Saturday arvo. The addition of playground was perfect for our kid. Will definitely be back for another go.

Fast and good tasting pub food. Beer was cold and stubbie holder was provided at the bar. Good friendly service. We sat outside but inside had lots of TVs and I would love to come back to watch a game sometime.

Great place for a family feast, plenty of space for kids with a new Kids area and inside Bistro area if its cool or wet. Excellent value on Tuesdays.
