There was a time (pre-covid) where this place had amazing food and service. Their Wednesday $7.50 special was great quality and value.

Sadly, I can't say the same now. The food is very overpriced for what it is. It all tastes like it was pre-made and frozen. I actually spat out the chicken parma I was eating, the chicken was like rubber and looked gray and gross, cheap tasting cheese etc. Very limited options on menu (most unavailable). No chicken salt or side condiment selections. The bar staff don't fill drinks up all the way.

I don't know what's happened. But this is not the same North Gong it used to be. It's a real shame too :/

The food was alright, I don't have anything negative to say about it. However, it took an hour for my food to arrive. Unsure how this happened, but since I work in hospitality I was understanding of this error - I let the Front of House staff know and I then had my food in a matter of minutes. Thanks All.

Plenty of parking. Wasn't too busy which meant a nice relaxed atmosphere for lunch. The people working were very friendly and helpful, showing us the special lunch menu for today. Food came quick enough, was very tasty and well priced.
Will definitely be a return visit

Worst Schnitty deal you'll have. I had food poisoning from here a few months ago so I called them and let them know, and they responded saying they'd send a voucher to my email. That never happened.

I came back again and again because I live so close, and every single time I've come back the food is feral. The chips are white, uncooked, the schnitzel is TINY, and they lack communication.

My roommate and I ordered a Schnitty on the same number and had over 10 mins in between our meals and had to ask 3 times for it. Multiple meals came out in between. Their response is 'extra crispy chips'. Let the photo show you what their version of extra crispy cooked chips looks like lol (just food poisoning on a plate)

Friendly beach girls, half court basketball, big, relaxed beer garden. Ample parking,
And they even gave your dogness a free chicken parmigiana! Woof!

Great range of beers and super friendly, fun staff. One of the head staff, Maria, was awesome and took the time out to helped us out with the services there and was really friendly and helpful

The bistro food is well above par, especially compared to similar local venues.

Great music venue and the beer garden is awesome to relax with a fresh cold tap beer or a glass of wine and a meal.

Definitely recommend give it a try. We will definitely go back.

Been here plenty of times in the past when travelling for work and it's normally pretty good.
Not sure what happened tonight.... ordered steak..... medium.... was cooked past well done.....
Had mash and veg ..... raw veg and lumpy mash.....
Would understand if the place was busy as ..... but it was very quiet ????

We walked in and there was a long queue at the bar with only one staff working at the bar. There were schooner cups and wine glasses everywhere on the bar counter and on dirty tables. The queue was long but we had no other choice to go to another bar because it was the only bar opened on 26th December 2022 (public holidays). After waiting at the queues for 20mins, the lady served us whilst she was asking her work colleagues when she should go on break. She just took her time and was holding onto the change whilst chatting away with her work colleague ?????. On top of this... She under poured my wine. I mentioned it to her but she said that it's on the line (when it clearly isn't-see photo). My first and last time going to this bar.

I stayed at the Wollongong surf leisure resort down the road once when I was on tour with my band, and we played at this place. The hotel was nice and roomy, we were sharing a fair bit but we still each got a bed or couch to sleep on comfortably. Spent most of our time at the north woooolongong hotel, so didn't get to explore the accommodation much, but I did see it had a put put course and one of the giant pillow jumpy things which I would have loved to go on.

The parma was decent but we were left waiting for over 1 hour for them to even start cooking our food. When we followed up they obviously lost our order but they weren't apologetic. Average customer service

Pretty standard bar. Good sized parking, outdoor ambience is good. Inside is very standard with nothing of particular note. Decor is "meh". Drinks are overpriced but food is quite good.

Vegan Schnitzel was just two curried chickpea patties? When I complained they said they'd pass it on, I wish they would have passed my $21 back to me. Ripped off and cursed food.

Heavy handed security threw me out of a private party. When asked why, they had no reason just that my "attitude" led them to believe I should not be allowed to stay. I was not falling down, I hadn't abused anybody and had just been served a drink which completely refutes any RSA protocols they may wish to use as justification. Low intelligence humans with a little power is a dangerous combination. They humiliated me and intimidated me. In fact, threatened to throw me down the stairs. This was witnessed by a completely sober colleague. The world has gone mad. After our exit we proceeded to another venue and were welcomed in and had an excellent time. A happy customer tells 5 people and an unhappy customer tells 500 about their experience. I will be telling everyone I can about my outrageous treatment by the staff at Nth Wollongong Hotel.

Nice for a drink at the end of the day. I think the food has gotten worse over time, the $7 schnitty hasn't been very good lately. Watch out for drug dealers in the toilets.

This a large and popular hotel. Apparently it's chiefly popular as a night spot. But I had vegan nachos for lunch and they were fantastic. If the rest of the menu is as good then it's a great lunch spot too. It has a very attractive treed outdoor area and plenty of parking. The indoor tables need a new coat of varnish but otherwise the presentation is good. There's an outdoor bar for functions and weekends. I didn't get to check the rest out but I did see a large group of differently abled people having lunch there today, so I'm assuming it works for most people. You must check in and must be vaccinated to access this pub.

Paid for a game of pool with no cues available to use... waited at the bar for 5 minutes with 3 of the girls standing around talking, made eye contact with them 5 times before I was finally acknowledged just to be given a short "no" with no apologies.

The tall young bloke behind bar came to collect empties and we asked him again, he was able to grab us one and was very nice about it.

Edit: have updated to 4 stars after speaking with the venue privately. Who dealt with the issue with genuine care and understanding.

Beautiful setup, meal portions are genorous. Choice to dine inside or outside, lively place during the weekends,live band performances

Good place to come up with kids as they need more space:) it has a good beer garden which kids would benefit from.

Dead. A 300 capacity beer garden with 6 people in it. The cold is no excuse down there.. it's always cold.

Music was cool, good vibe if covid wasn't a thing. These people clearly don't care about covid that much. The bar looked like something out of world war z and outside was like a music festival pre covid. Might have just been a thing the night we were there.

Booked a gathering for my 23rd birthday in March, very accommodating and good service throughout the night! Particularly from the young girl wearing a Covid marshall jacket who helped with questions in the night! Super thankful considering it was flooding that weekend and the night could still go ahead undercover, upstairs!! Thank you :)

The steak was very average and gristle through it, although it being early and not very busy we were given the wrong sauces. Otherwise the venue was nice, just a bit dear for what we got.
Would go for drinks there but not to eat.

Nice place. The only gripe I and my friends had was the sport played loud on the outside TV; thought they made sports bar sections to counteract this.
The menu has reduced in selections to what it used to be, HOWEVER, what's on offer is spectacular!!! Finally got a medium rare steak cooked to perfection!!! Friends loved their meals as well; great chefs!! Thankyou, will be back for that steak and more good times ?

The chef that was on today 11/2/21 for lunch is a thumbs down! I ordered a medium rare steak, but gave me a well done steak with very salty chips, the pepper sauce on the steak was not nice and neither was the dressing on the salad! And we waited half an hour for our food! No wonder why the steak was overcooked!

Food was not nice. Schnitzel was apparently the top 10 in Australia but was horrible. We ordered the pies and sausage rolls but only came out with pies. The order said battered fish but was crispy skin fish not battered. Wouldn't waste my money on this hotel again.

Very fun place, especially when Santa comes to town.

Over $31 for a steak (when the website said $25). Tiny tough steak. Hardly any salad or chips at all. The worst value meal I've ever had.

Great place to hang out with friends. Friendly efficient staff. Always a good time..
