We've organised our end of year party at the Nag's Head Hotel (top floor) last week and strongly recommended the place! The communication with the event organiser Celeste has been fantastic - quick, clear and she was very supportive which made organising a party for 100 people a lot easier and less stressful. The staff (Jason & team) that was working during the event itself was incredible. They were kind, quick and even helped with decorating the venue as well as taking off the decoration at the end of the night, which was very much appreciated. The venue had all we needed, good drinks and food and enough space for 100 people in a private area (with balcony) which allowed for us to have a photo booth and DJ with set-up!! I highly recommend the pub for organising your event, we will definitely be back there for a next party!

Nice and chill atmosphere. Pretty good value steak for $35. Not pretentious. Hasn't had the heart and soul renovated out of it yet. Staff are cool 2023

Great Place, their chicken parme is so huge that i dont think i could finish it in 1 go. Probably i need to be hungry for a month or so to be able to finish it. But great food and staff was nice. :). When you enter, you dont realise that how big this place is (its upstairs as well). Its huge from inside. Good for the corporate get together or parties. I enjoyed the food.

Shocking. Popped in last night with a view to buying dinner; my mate was standing at the bar and the busy barmaid notified her trans colleague that he needed serving - whereupon he just blithely ignored said friend and carried on sharing his phone photos with another punter. What a shame - loved this pub back in the day but never again. We returned to the friendly, well-managed Forest Lodge pub with a great Spotify list and sampled their excellent burgers.

To the bloke that thinks serving is beneath him, get a non-customer-facing role mate. You're wasting everyone's time.

cons: smelt disgusting in the hotel. no clue what it was but it was foul.
drunkies coulda been handled better
only schooners available, no pints :(

overall, good stay for what you pay for :)

Nice Local pub full of charm , dog friendly ,kid friendly.back bar has a great range of wines and whiskeys.The steak was a perfect medium rare with marble score of 2 and the side salad had decent mix of tomatoes and cucumbers.chicken and leak pie was well balanced.pastry was soft but that worked in the meals favour.

I had my 60th in the room upstairs and the whole experience was fantastic!

Celeste was great to deal with as event manager, Dan the manager was fabulous and all the staff super relaxed and helpful.

The food is was great for a party and the room is a perfect place for everyone to relax and enjoy the evening.

We've been going to eat at the Nags for years and it used to have quality food, but lately (I'm presuming since new management) but over the last month it's been very disappointing. My partner would always get the Nags famous pie but instead was served with an Australian bakery sized pie for a main meal, where the mash potatoes and peas were bigger than the pie. Clearly the new owners have no idea of how to run an inner city Sydney pub....

Something has happened to this pub and it doesn't look good. The new management don't appear to care for their loyal customers. The food is appalling and the atmosphere is now non-existent. The feeling seems to be to get people in and out as quickly as possible, with a limitation on what's available. Despite the staffs best efforts, you can see their frustration with the new management and this trickles down to the customers. Not a friendly or pleasant place to go anymore.

Enjoyed a beer out in the afternoon sun. Tables well placed out the front, and bar staff was friendly. Unfortunately the new owners have removed the TAB- I can only guess to put in more pokies- shame. Overall, nice pub. Look forward to going back.

Not bad for a local pub, food is mediocre. Unfortunately, everytime we are there, enjoying our time on the lovely balcony, we are kicked off at 630pm because there is always a private function happening upstairs. Very frustrating as there is nowhere else to drink and smoke in the pub, forcing us to leave for the nearby Forest Lodge, where the food is way better and the smoking areas are plentiful.

I have been coming to this pub for 30 years. This afternoon I had lunch and a few drinks. Prior to leaving I bought takeaway and asked for a quick shooter. A bailey s. I was so upset to think after all the money spent the dear kind man charged me 26 dollars for two shooters. No kindness for customers. And guys I am on machine dealing with cancer. What do regular customers get. No kindness. I will be trying other pubs. Because you want to feel they appreciate your custom.

The food is AMAZING! I can't wait to try everything in their menu, but today's curry, snitty and prawn pot were all simply delicious! Love the atmosphere there too, very spacious pub. Drinks as good as the food. Best Espresso Martini I have had in a very loooong time.

Cosy little corner pub, almost reminiscent of an English pub. When we visited there was also a great singer / guitarist doing some relaxed tunes. A great neighbourhood gem, will definitely be back

The inside is lovely and the manager is terrific. We ordered the squid as a snack and the manager saw our dissatisfaction with the size so she brought us a free order of chips. Great local place. Will be going back 100%.

Have been going to this great British style pub in St John's Road Glebe since the '80s. I was a little concerned when the makeover seemed to go on forever and that we lost that cool old vibe with the wooden benches but they surprised me and really stepped up with the new design. Food, as always, is reliable and super tasty. Vegetarian and Vegan options as well as great steaks, burgers and fish and chips plus delicious daily specials. Yet another venue with just super friendly, helpful customer service which is a dying art for sure. I go here at least monthly

Delicious food for Mother's Day. Live music was a plus for sure. Only downside, my brother is in a wheelchair and their "disabled" bathroom was still down 3 stairs which made it very hard to access from the restaurant room and also from the main entrance. Was a team effort having to carry him and the wheelchair up a set of stairs.

We put on birthday drinks for my husband and the upstairs area was perfect. Jane who is the manager is wonderful and made the experience stress free!! The food is delicious and service top notch. Plus dogs are welcome. Highly recommend!!!

I ordered a steak medium-rare, but it came well-done (plus the veges were cold); and from the reactions of those with me, their meals weren't great either. This place has a solid selection of beers and it's a decent vibe, so it's an alright spot for drinks, but I'd say the average person can cook food better than what this place gives you. I don't go out for dinner to get what's essentially a sub-par home-cooked meal.

Nice old fashion pub with pub food at reasonable prices. It is interesting to read the other reviews about the food and while it was ok I think there are better options in the area based on my experience.
