I booked a room with Nags Head for one night. When I left the room at 5 AM the day after to use the shower, the door codes had changed and it wouldn't let me back into my room. I am now stuck outside my room with no way to access my belongings and no one to contact. This is extremely poor service and I recommend everyone steer clear!

Netty. Was. Here. A nice semi formal restaurant out the back. Had the steak, was alright. Vegan Menu too.. Cocktails looked nice & frothy (proper whisked egg whites). Worth a spend for an arvo. Popular for functions too.

Just about every pub these days has a restaurant. Some are better than others.

The Nags is one of the better ones.

While I don't recommend the pizzas, everything else on their menu is top notch. (If you want a pizza, go across the road to Harry's.) The prices are reasonable and that staff have always been friendly.

The $15 lunch menu options are great value and they even have a separate vege menu for those so inclined.

The dining area isn't exactly huge, but that also creates a quieter atmosphere. If you are thinking about arriving later in a sitting, you might like to book.

Great place to go for dinner. Great clean and friendly atmosphere, lovely, helpful and friendly staff. Had the best bruschetta and chilli prawn pizza I've ever had there. Oh my God it was good! Heaps of delicious food to choose from on the menu and plenty of different drinks and cocktails also.

Saturday dinner catch up with friends - highly recommended. Good range of meals and the vegan options are good - pumpkin curry was delish! Good priced cocktails from 4-7pm on the weekends; lovely cosy lounge area with fireplace was spot on for a winter's night out. To avoid any issues with ordering via the QR codes, we ordered directly at the bar and the bistro - no problems and quick, efficient service.

Tasty, reasonably priced with generous portion sizes.

Food was fine (basic burgers and a kids pizza). The issue we had was the QR code ordering system. This directs you to a website to order. Adamstown has terrible mobile reception, and half of the orders placed on the website were then 'lost' in the system (two families, two separate orders). They showed as 'paid' when finslly queried, but didn't reach the kitchen. The staff did their best to remedy this, but our meals were then 45+ minutes apart. Just another pub meal, but their 'high tech' ordering equalled a less than enjoyable meal experience.

Pros: Very comfy beds, clean and nicely renovated.

Cons: Lock code wasn't working on last morning and I got locked out of my room for 40 mins. No one was answering the phone. Thankfully I found a lady to help me downstairs after knocking on the door loudly. I was woken up probably 15 times on both nights due to a weird vibrating/drilling noise from 5am onward (maybe a hot water system?) and the walls are paper thin so I heard every noise the neighbours made at 3am.

Have car parking, nicest place in it's class (as in pub style with shared bathroom) I have been to by far. A microwave and a mini fridge would of been nice though

The room is a bit small and the air flow needs to be improved.

Overall good to stay for the amount you paid.

Went out for with the family my father ordered lamb cutlets , mash potatoes and peas it's a main meal and comes out in a bowl. I ordered the chicken schnitzel salad and chips. it was awful. The prices are through the roof and not good enough food for the cost of it very disappointed won't be coming again to your bistro

Lunch at The Nags is always first class. And our waitress was such a lovely, friendly breath of fresh air. Well done. I'll be back.

It actually gets a 10 out of 5 as the staff are friendly and very approachable.... The feed was huge and tasted so good, it's that big I had to get a doggy bag so I could enjoy the rest at home. The atmosphere is relaxing and venue is really attractive with sections for your liking

I've done every standard hotels/villas/air bnb as a housekeeper before. It's definitely 4-5 star bed making. Friendly staff, quite place in the room. We like it.

Absolutely lovely customer service and hospitality at the Nags Head. All the staff went above and beyond on our visit for lunch recently. The mocktails, chilli garlic bread and desserts were especially nice. The design of the restuarant is lovely as well. Thank you for making our lunch so special and we had a great day! Really disappointed. My wife and I went to the Nags for something different. I ordered the chilli prawn linguine and she ordered the chicken snitzel with garlic prawn topper.

The service was spot on, phenomenal customer service and the people were great. However the food was some of the worst we have ever had. Ordering a $34 meal being the pasta and by all means could be cooked better from ourselves. For a qualified chef, my goodness, some quality checks need to be had. This was horrible and a risk to the business, to charge this in exchange for the delivery.

200M down the road you pay a portion and receive 10x the quality and flavour.

I'm not one to cause an issue, but when you get charged a premium for something you expect the result, which sadly was a 1/10.

A great little local hotel located in the heart of Adamstown. Affordable accommodation and great service.
The restaurant food is amazing and the bar is packed with beverages.
I cant recommend the Nags enough.

Great service. Waitress brought over a kids activity pack for the kids. Nice food and good prices.

The lady serving on the bar tried to overcharge me for a round of spirits after also pouring short after the bottle ran out. Pretty substandard service overall. Disappointing after good experiences previously.

Best pub in Newcastle, great food and price, awesome staff. I'm there at least once a week because it's awesome.

The Nag's is a great place to go for a pub feed with friends or family. I absolutely love that they have a whole vegan menu with plenty of different options and the staff are very accomodating.

Cold beer

I love The Nags, its one of my favourite pubs in Newcastle! Recent renovations have made the interior dining area modern and comfortable, while the ever improving menu has something for everyone. Its so refreshing to find somewhere that not only offers some of the classic pub dishes but also a multitude of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options that are so much more diverse than salad substitutes. Keep it up Nags!
