The food was absolutely delicious and some of the nicest staff I have ever seen. Great and reasonable prices. Verry clean and modern in a great little spot!

Not overly impressed with the experience I encountered at this venue on the evening of 25 January. My partner and I had been to see a show then decided to get a drink after. We walked in and my partner organised a seat for us while I went to the bar to order a couple of drinks for us. I was caught off guard by the security guard asking me how many drinks I had had that night, I stumbled to answer 'just a few'. He then told me to leave. We walked up the road and had a drink each before heading home. All in all not a great way to encourage patrons in to an almost empty bar...

Having a lovely time at a table of 4 in front of the bar and my mate accidentally knocked his Gin & Tonic onto the table, all 4 of us got instantly cut off from the bar which was way over the top and quite inappropriate for 4 people having a good evening with an honest mistake.
Then the doorman was quite abrupt and quite domanding we leave even thought we have PAID beverages.
Nice bar staff, but a man spilling his drink with his elbow because he was in a cheerful discussion with friends who were also none intoxicated is a bit of an injustice and sounds like your staff have too much of a power trip.

Nice place to sit and people watch while having a quiet drink. Has an outside seating area as well. Drinks reasonably priced and friendly bar staff.

Mountbatten Hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but when you get inside, it also doesn't look like much. Why am I giving it 5 stars? Because one night I decided to wander into Mountbatten and let me tell you, the staff there were the friendliest staff ever. The Jameson's were really well priced and generously poured. I personally also love a bit of a go at the pokies, and you could imagine my elation when I put in my last two dollar coin for the week, and one myself twenty dollars! I immediately went to the KFC as I hadn't eaten in seventeen hours. So all in all, I had a great experience, and if you're wandering through George Street won late night, wondering what to do or who to turn to, just remember, Mountbatten Hotel is there for you.

As a mixed group of mature adults we made a mistake of stopping at this bar. Whilst millennials were welcome to drink down the cocktails, our group order of beers lead to us being accused of being intoxicated and hence being asked to leave. We were all very surprised at this instantaneous decision made at the bar as no previous conversation had been had and we'd only been in the bar for two beers. Apparently our cheerful laughter amongst friends is not the type of behaviour this recently renovated dive wishes to attract. Our party has frequented the hotel over many years but we won't return, there are simply too many other better places than this unwelcoming establishment. Lord Mount Batten would hang his head in shame. Much prefer other!

I accidentally slept outside the pub with the full intention of buying a drink, I was awoken up with colonial Sydney hospitality she showed a form of prejudice , they told me to leave. because I had slept... without even being asked for a drink..

Food here is very good Vietnamese (they also do decent looking burgers and schnitzel etc...). Have stuff ready to go or you can order off menu where they make it fresh. Price is good + friendly staff... Tried about 5-6 different dishes and all are great.
