Lovely place but the highlight of the night was our server, Hayley! This young girl was so kind and helpful, her parents should be proud, she was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Flew on the red eye flight from Darwin to Melbourne had to drive through to Gippsland that day. I did a lot research to find somewhere to stay that provided high standard of accomodation, food and atmosphere under the one roof at a very reasonable price. I'm very happy to say I chose to stay here. Everything I wanted. Very happy.

Great meals, fair prices, nice atmosphere, polite staff. Kids loved the play space. All around a great night out.

Kath is the best Duty Manager I have ever had the pleaure of dealing with, she anticipates your needs and serves you with the biggest of smiles! She has also trained her staff to treat you with the same level of love and respect and it truly shows! Darci is one of their best servers and I truly love coming up to the Top Pub for a delicious meal knowing I will be served by these lovely ladies. Ive been coming here for 30+ years and you will never find a better pub family than Kath and her girls ??'?

I was served by Anthony, Jake and Shara in the sports bar during the Carlton players sports night.
3 of the best bar staff by miles! Great interactions with them all and they remembered what I was drinking making it easy as at the bar and remembered my name! Keep it going guys excellent job!

We rang to book a table and Anthony was incredible helpful with our request to be near the kids playground; even added balloons to the table as it was a birthday dinner booking!
The floor staff were friendly, in particular Hayley; her customer service was incredible!
The only downfall was the rude bar staff that evening, she was rude to not only customers but her fellow team members. (I won't name and shame her publicly but happy to be contacted in regards to the evening)
Overall I would still give the venue 5 stars because you can't let one bad egg ruin the experience!

The food was very ordinary, I ordered a porterhouse steak and it was grisly, thin and looked like a budget cut from aldi. the wedges with sweet chillie and sour cream, the wedges where not crisp, and the chicken Berger my wife ordered was dry. The only thing that was ok was the kids meals, chicken nugets and chips.
Very poor quality one star 🌟

Only just moved to the area and discovered this gem! The lunch time special is great value and TJ always goes above and beyond, food has been great each time we have been there and love the venues personal touch on the menu comparing to other ALH venues well done to the chefs. Definitely our new local.

Have only been here for 1 hour and it has already been such a pleasurable experience. Staff are so friendly, welcoming and attentive. Will definitely be recommending and returning for future stays.

Went to diner with a group of workmates and they gave my dinner to another table. When I asked them what happened the girl said she knew she gave it to the wrong table but didn't let me know. Saw the manager, he was useless. Called them when I got home to complain and the manager said "Oh we sent someone over but you'd already left" Yeah right lol. I'd already been there two hours. And to top that off we had a bunch of Collingwood supporters standing all around our table waiting to get into the front bar function. Huge disappointment. They're always slow bringing your meals out. We won't be back.

Food was way better than I expected. I had the beef pie and calamari for entree and it was delicious.

Service was so poor. Out celebrating dinner for a birthday. Approximately 14 guests. When ordering were told meals would be around 30 minutes. An hour later 4 meals arrived and they had completed eating, and there child and all other guest had received nothing. Finally after 90 minutes one family went to enquire and there meal had not even started to be cooked, so they and their 3 children left to buy McDonalds as kids were hungry and bored.
Finally all meals were served and all guests with children had left before the birthday cake was asked to be brought out. Host apologised as
2 people were still eating there main meal.
The venue was not packed and no apology given to us. Truly spoiling the night.
Meal was quite nice when it was finally received.

Trivia nights are brilliant fun, highly recommended. Nick really makes it. However, there is not much choice on the food menu, especially for vegetarians. Looking forward to the new pizza oven arriving!

We ate at the bistro for the second time.
Again the food was plentiful and delicious and great value for money.
The service was very good and TJ looked after us like he had known us for years.

What a great place to dine and brand new rooms. We booked 3 rooms and were advised they had just been renovated, and that that had! Not just painted. New everything and bathroom. Classy rooms to be honest, with all new fridges, tv, air con, the lot. Very impressive and comfortable rooms. The restaurant had a brand new ordering system and the staff were just awesome at catering for our needs while making the transition look effortless. Dining room was full and everyone was happy with their meals. We ordered parmas and ribs and they weee cooked well, reasonably priced and happily go and stay to the Morwell hotel when we are there next. Nice job to all the staff. Really makes the venue. Very outgoing.

Good for a stopover. Rooms are older, but beds are very comfy. Tea and coffee supplied. Toaster and microwave in room. Ate dinner in the hotel. Great seniors menu, service was quick, for a very busy Saturday night, meal was nice.

I'm not often someone to leave negative reviews however wanted to pass on some feedback after our weekend spent at Morwell Hotel. All was going really well until last night when our large group of approx 30 people (who had also booked the majority of the accommodation) sat down to have dinner. We were approx an hour or so into our dinner booking when one person from our group was understandably asked to leave due to bringing in his own drinks. I understand this policy completely. I was however, and still am extremely disappointed that every other person within our group was punished and "cut off" an hour and half (if that) into our dinner booking. The majority of us had only had one or two drinks, and if it was due to RSA then our group were completely discriminated against. In the sports bar the previous evening other patrons not from our group should have been cut off who were screaming, slurring, falling all over the place and yet still being served. One member from our group was also served his one drink which had a broken bottle top which cut his lip and no apology or compensation was offered. Our entire group were cut off within one hour of arriving for our dinner booking meaning most of us couldn't even have a drink with our dinner. This was also after our group had spent (I could only assume based on my own costs for food and accommodation) a total of at least $8,000 at the establishment within two days. I feel that the people in management were completely unfair and unprofessional, and that further consideration should have been given being that 99% of our group respected rules and guidelines. I'm sure that management aren't likely to care enough to rethink their choices and how this affected the entire experience for our group, but perhaps this feedback could be used to improve your personal and communication skills and improve level of respect you give to paying customers who have done nothing wrong. Given that Morwell is a small community I would think you would rely on large groups travelling to help support your establishments, and I for one know I will never visit again based on the discrimination and unfair treatment experienced this weekend.

Not bad for the price. Bedroom area is nice, decent size and bed was super comfortable. Bathroom is in need of an upgrade indefinitely but other than that nothing bad I can say.

Came last night. Was a bit disappointed they were sold out of oysters but the mains were amazing. I had chicken stuffed Camembert and prawns and my partner had the lobster with steak. The meals were AMAZING. We come here regularly and it's the best we've ever had. Yum yum yum. We left so satisfied and not over full. Bar staff could smile occasionally though.

Staff insist on guiding customers to use their app to order. Not sure if this is to save on staff, this technology doesn't suit some. Strange smell in the bar & dining room. Food ok

Food was good, but the new dircect online ordering system from your table, is a bit of a pain to navigate, and I couldn't find what I wanted, so I asked one of the staff to help me. We got our desert delivered before the main meal, so this new system still has a few more bugs to work through.

My steak was reasonably tasty and what you would expect from a pub meal.
My friends ribs were delicious according to him.
The accommodation here is a bit dated but clean.

It has been many years since I have eaten at the Top Pub. Went with a large group for a birthday celebration. Service was friendly and prompt but unfortunately quite a few of the meals were sub standard and several were returned to the kitchen.
I ate the half lobster and scotch fillet chefs special, to be honest it was far from special, the best part of it was the peppercorn sauce for the steak. My wife ate the rack of bbq pork ribs and quite enjoyed them.
I won't rush back for another meal any time soon.

Good size pub meal. They are having lobster week at the moment...bit of a surprise for a pub...but well done for doing something other that the usual. I didn't try any of the lobster dishes...might be my loose!

I enjoy having a meal at the Top Pub as the staff are welcoming and the meals are great value. The waiter TJ's service skills are excellent, and he has a wonderful sense of humour. A most friendly environment in which to dine.

The cheeseburger w bacon was awesome! The service was great & meals came quickly. I was pleasantly surprised & recommend if you're after a casual quality meal.

Food was an average quality. We ordered medium rare steaks, they all came over cooked, some came as well done. Salad without dressing looked very poor on the plate. The peppercorn sauce was very overwhelming however the mushroom sauce was delicious and worked nicely with the dish. Thought if the steaks were taken off earlier and there was a nice simple dressing, the dish would be justified.

I chose from the menu before going there and found the item I chose was not on the menu in the bistro, I ordered a loaded spud - potato bacon mushrooms slaw sour cream and cheese, NO BACON, Few mini mushroom fragments, So mostly sour cream salady slaw and some cheese. The guy who sells spuds outside Chemist Warehouse does much better,
